Abstract

ABSTRACT

This invention relates to a hockey glove and in particular to one including a glove portion provided with a cushion on each finger and a female Velcro strap at a hem thereof and a cuff provided with a male Velcro strap at an inner surface, whereby the user may protect his hands from being hurted and may replace the glove portion or the cuff as desired.

Description

?~ - 7 TITLE: A HOCKEY GLOVE

This invention relates to a hockey glove.
It is found that the prior art hockey glove has the following drawbacks:
1. The cuff is connected -to the glove hy sti-tching thereby increasing the production time.
2. The cuff or the glove cannot be replaced even if it is worn out.
3. The cuff must be packed together with the glove thus occupying a large packing space.
4. The hockey glove cannot provide protection for the fingers of the user.
5. The cuff or the glove cannot be replaced as desired.
Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a hockey glove which may obviate and mitigat~
the above mentioned drawbacks.
This invention rela-tes to an lmproved hockey glove~

portion and a cuff.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a hockey glove the cuff of which may be easily detached from the glove.
It is still ano~her objec~ o~ e l~rnM~!n~ irlv~r~ Jn to provide a hockey glove the cuff and the ylove portion of which may he replaced when worn out.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide a hockey glove having a glove portion and a cuff which may be packed separatedly.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a hockey glove which is simple in construc-tion.
Other objects and merits and a fuller understanding of the present invention will be obtained by those having ordinary skill in the art when the followiny detailed description o the preferred embodiment oE the invention is read in conjunction with accompanying drawings.

FIG. 4 is an enlarged fragmentary view of FIG. 3;
FIG. 5 is an enlarged sectional view taken along line a-a of FIG. 3;
FIG. 6 is an enlarged sectional view -taken along line c-c of FIG. 3;
FIG. 7 shows a second preferred embodiment of the cushion according to the present invention; and FIG. 8 shows a third preferred embodiment of the cushion according to the present invention;
FIG. 9 is a perspective view of the glove portion;
and FIG. 10 is a perspectlve view of the cuff.
With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIGS. 2 and 3 thereo:E, the hockey glove according to the present invention comprises cushions 20 which include an air chamber 22 with a plurality of ventilating holes 23 at both ~id s. The cushion 20 is provided with a rece:s ll on ~hich there i~ a cover 24 o that the air ' .

chamber 22 can be in communication with the outside via the ventilating holes 23 only. When subject to impact, the impact force will be absorbed by the air within the air chamber 23 and so the air will be pushed out from the ventilating hoies ~ -thereby eliminating almost all impact. Further, ~he cushiorl ~() may a~ll;om~ti~aLIy ~
restored and so when the impact force no longer exists, air will enter into the air chamber ~3 again via the ventilating holes 23, storing the cushioning energy for the next impact. Hence, by means of the glove provided with the cushions 20, the fingers of the user may be protected thus reducing the force exerted on the palm back 12 and the fingers 11 and therefore, preventing the hand from being hurted. Aæ illustrated, the cushions 20 are inserted into the sleeves 13 in the same direction as the finger and into sleeves 13 on the palm back 12 transversely.
As can be seen in FIGS. 4 and 5, in case the cushion in the glove is increased in length, the air chamber may 20 ~be divided into several small rooms 31 by means of ribs ~:

- ' ' ' '- ' '' 33 so as to reinforce the rooms 31.
The present invention is further characterized in the connection between the glove portion 1U' and the cuff 20'.
As shown in FIG. 6, the glove portion 10' is sirnply connected with-the cuff 2U' by mearls Or the Velcro strap~
instead of stitching.
Referring to FIG. 6, the glove portion 10' is provided with female Velcro strap L2' at the hem portion 11' while the cuff 20' with male Velcro 23' at the inner surface so that the cuff 20' may be connec-ted with the glove 10' portion. In addition, the cuff 20' is provided with a male Velcro strap 21' at one end and a female Velcro strap 22' at -the top surface of the other end so that the cuff 20' may be conveniently tied together.
Concluslvel~, the present invention has the following advantages:
1. It is unnecessary to stitch the cuff on the glove portion thereby reducinq the production time.
2. The cuff lS easily connected with the glove~
3. Either the cuff or the glove may be replaced when .

worn out.
4. It is possible to replace the cuff or the glove as desired.
5. The glove and the cuff may be packed separ~tely thereby reducing the package volume.
Although the present invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is understood that the present disclosure is made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detail of construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the Lnve~tion as hereinaFter cl~imed.
