Abstract

Disclosed is a navigation apparatus mounted on a moving object and including an input section (1), a central processing section (2), a display section (3) and a memory section (6). When the present position and the destination of the moving object are provided to the central processing section, the navigation apparatus produces two or more possible routes along which the moving object can reach the destination when started from the present position by using map data stored in the memory section, and the present position (21), the destination (22) and the possible routes (23, 24) are indicated on the screen (3a) of the display section. The two or more possible routes are produced by a processing means (4) and a calculation/retrieval means (5).
A connection route (25) existing between the two or more possible routes may be retrieved and indicated. Further-more, a possible area (26) containing the possible routes may be retrieved and indicated.
