Description
"IMPROVEMENT IN FIXING DEVICE FOR
INSIDE REAR-VIEW MIRROR"
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present patent has as purpose a model of fixing device for inside rear-view mirror belonging to the field of accessories for motor-car vehicles and which received an improvement in order to make it more efficient than the known similars.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Inside rear-view mirrors are already known, which consists, essentially, of a frame supporting the mirror, which is assembled articulately on a fixing device, consisting of an arm, the upper of which is fixed to the vehicle's inside ceiling.
One form of building the fixing device, which is subject of another application for patent of the same applicant, and registered under number MU 7202212 on December 29, 1992, consists in ;providing the connection to the vehicle's ceiling through a coupling, part of which on the mirror supporting arm and part on the vehicle's ceiling.
Although this type of construction of the fixing device provides for a sure and easy handling fixation during the assembly operations and/or replacement of the mirror, a problem appears, consisting in the fact that the vibrations and/or the stresses which act on the mirror, during the position adjustment operations, favouring a certain slackening in the coupling of the fitted parts, thus favouring the loosening of this mirror.
Considering this problem, and with the purpose of overcoming it, the improvement was developed in the fixing device for inside rear-view mirror, which is subject of the present patent, and which consists of providing the fixing device of a retention spring, which avoids the slackening of the coupling among the fixing device parts.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The attached design shows the improvement of the inside rear-view mirror fixing device, subject of the present patent, in which:
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the device of the inside rear-view mirror;
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the device, starting from the end of its arm, which is fitted on the base mounted on the ceiling;
Figure 3 shows the device from the side and in use; and Figure 4 shows the A-A cut as indicated in the prior figure.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Pursuant to the figures listed above, the model of inside rear-view mirror fixing device, subject of the present patent, is used in inside rear-view mirrors, which consist essentially of the mirror itself 1 mounted on a frame 2; and said fixing device includes essentially an arm 3 the lower end of which is set articulately on the back face of frame 2 and on the upper end it has means 4 for assembly in the region 5 of the vehicle inside ceiling, located at the central region of the upper side of the front windshield.
With the present layout the arm 3 has the fixing upper end 6 extended in the direction of the back region of the car body and in it is foreseen a part 7 of a coupling 7-8 which is part of the assembly means 4.
Said fitting part 7 consists of a plane 9, provided on the end of setting 6 of arm 3, which has the sides and the front face provided with the corresponding wings: side wings 10 and front side 11, consisting of extensions of the corresponding faces of arm 3, and the back face 12 of said plane 9 is free and on said plane are incorporated two fitting guides 13-14 which are parallel and extend lengthwise. Each fitting guide 13-14 has a wing with T section 13 and beside and parallel to it the corresponding ribs 14, of little height, located between said wing in T and the corresponding side wing 10.
Completing the fitting part 7 is a U-section blade-shaped spring 15-16, consisting of a transversal branch 15, from which extend perpendicularly side parallel branches 16, each of which provided with lengthwise free edge with two indentures 17; said U-section spring 15-16 is set between the two T wings 13, fixed through two end segments 18, of the two side branches 16, limited by the indenture 17 and the segments 19 of said side branches 16, which are intermediate to said indenture 17, are slightly beaded inwards.
The fitting part 8 consists of a small base-plate 20, fixed on the ceiling 5 of the vehicle, provided of an inverted U-section lengthwise central rib, 21 and L-section opposed side wings 22, which have their free ends turned to the inverted U-section central rib 23.
Among said inverted U-section lengthwise central rib 23 and the L-section opposed, side wings 22, are fitted and retained the T-section wings 13 of the fitting part 7 (Figure 4), and at the same time, said L-section side wings 22 of the fitting part 8 are intercalated between said T-section wings 13, ribs 14 and side wings 10 of fitting part 7, thus performing the fixation among the parts, and the intermediate segments 19 of the side branches 16 of the U-section spring 15-16 and the inverted U-section rib 22, fit one into another, improving the fixation of the fitting parts 7 and 8.
