Abstract

The invention relates to solid, oblong dosage forms comprising a longitudinal axis and a length defined by the projection of the ends of the dosage form on the longitudinal axis. A cross-sectional area oriented in a vertical manner in relation to the longitudinal axis comprises a surface measure which varies along said longitudinal axis. The surface measure increases toward both ends in an essentially continuous manner from a cross-sectional area, said cross-sectional area being located between the ends and having a minimal surface measure, up to a respective cross-sectional area having a maximum surface measure. These dosage forms are characterized in that the distance of the maximum cross-sectional area, said cross-sectional area being located in the vicinity of one end, from the maximum cross-sectional area, said cross-sectional area being located in the vicinity of the other end, is greater than half the length of the dosage form in a projection on the longitudinal axis. These dosage forms advantageously display easy divisibility and, at the same time, a sufficient resistance to stress for further processing steps.
