Abstract

A system and method deliver audible caller identification information when standard Caller ID information cannot be provided (206). A calling party is prompted by an announcement to provide the audible caller identification information (210).
The announcement may be tailored by changing the language of the announcement.
The audible caller identification information is recorded and played to the called party in a message (216).
