Abstract

The present invention provides a granular fertilizer which is coated with a thermosetting resin layer (first thermosetting resin layer), a water-insoluble material layer and a thermosetting resin layer (second thermosetting resin layer) from inner to outer layers, and it can release fertilizer ingredients for a long time, by a smaller amount of coating materials than known coated fertilizers.

Claims (11)

1. A granular fertilizer which is coated with a thermosetting resin layer (first thermosetting resin layer), a water-insoluble material layer and a thermosetting resin layer (second thermosetting resin layer) from inner to outer layers.
2. A granular coated fertilizer according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the first thermosetting resin and the second thermosetting resin is urethane resin.
3. A granular coated fertilizer according to claim 1, wherein both of the first thermosetting resin and the second thermosetting resin are urethane resin.
4. A granular coated fertilizer according to claim 1, wherein the water-insoluble material is at least one selected from the group of waxes, fatty acids, fatty acid salts, fatty acid esters, higher alcohols, silicones and mixtures thereof.
5. A granular coated fertilizer according to claim 1, wherein the water-insoluble material is at least one selected from the group of petroleum waxes, synthetic waxes and mixtures of petroleum wax with ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.
6. A granular coated fertilizer according to claim 1, wherein the amounts of the first thermosetting resin, the second thermosetting resin, the water-insoluble material are 1 to 10, 4 to 14 and 0.01 to 1.2 parts by weight respectively based on 100 parts by weight of the granular fertilizer.
7. A granular fertilizer which comprises:
a granular core containing at least one fertilizer ingredient selected from the group consisting of nitrogen (N), phosphate (P) and potassium (K); and coating layers formed on the core and consisting essentially of:
a first thermosetting resin layer, a water-insoluble material layer, and a second thermosetting resin layer, from inner to outer layers, wherein:
the water-insoluble material layer is formed of a water-insoluble material having a melting or softening point of 40 to 120°C and selected from the group consisting of waxes, fatty acids, fatty acid salts, fatty acid esters, higher alcohols, silicones and mixtures thereof and is employed in an amount of 0.01 to 1.2 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of the core and at a weight ratio thereof to the second thermosetting resin layer of 0.01:100 to 20:100;
the first and second thermosetting layers are each formed of a thermosetting resin selected from the group consisting of urethane resin, epoxy resin, alkyd resin, unsaturated polyester resin, phenol resin, urea resin, melamine resin, and silicone resin, and the granular fertilizer is capable of slowly releasing the fertilizer ingredient according to growth of a plant in a designated time.
8. The granular fertilizer according to claim 7, wherein the first thermosetting resin layer is contained in an amount of 1 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the core.
9. The granular fertilizer according to claim 7 to 8, wherein the second thermosetting resin layer is contained in an amount of 4 to 14 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the core, while the first and second thermosetting resin layers are contained in a total amount of 6 to 16 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the core.
10. The granular fertilizer according to any one of claims 7 to 9, wherein the core has a particle diameter of 1 to 5mm.
11. The granular fertilizer according to any one of claims 7 to 10, wherein thermosetting material layers are formed of polyurethane resin; and the water-insoluble material layer is formed of wax.
