Abstract
Methods and systems for placing a distress call in response to the operation of implanted device (100 ). The implanted device (100) may be any of a plurality of medical devices capable of monitoring and/or regulating an organ.
When threshold conditions are reached, a distress signal transmitted by the implanted device (100) activates an external communications system (108). The external communications system (108) then places a distress call, which may be responded to by the appropriate medical personnel.
