Abstract
An aircraft avionics software and database upload transmission/reception system (55) using a cellular data transmission/reception system (40, 42, 44).
An aircraft data communications system (10) and method including a communications device (26) located in an aircraft (12); an avionics information storage device (19) located in the aircraft (12) in communication with communication device (26); a cellular infrastructure (14) in communication with the communication device (26); and a computer (18) remotely located from the aircraft in communication with the cellular infrastructure (14). The communication device (26) and the computer (18) establish a bi-directional communication channel via the cellular infrastructure (14) between the communication device and the computer and initiate a data exchange therebetween.
An aircraft data communications system (10) and method including a communications device (26) located in an aircraft (12); an avionics information storage device (19) located in the aircraft (12) in communication with communication device (26); a cellular infrastructure (14) in communication with the communication device (26); and a computer (18) remotely located from the aircraft in communication with the cellular infrastructure (14). The communication device (26) and the computer (18) establish a bi-directional communication channel via the cellular infrastructure (14) between the communication device and the computer and initiate a data exchange therebetween.
