Abstract

A method of forming a partition assembly for use in a partition matrix. The partitions are made by folding over a partition blank and securing a foam portion of the folded partition blank to itself. The foam may be heated with hot air before being cooled under pressure to secure opposed plies of the partition together.

Claims (7)

1. A method of forming a partition for use in an intersecting partition matrix, the method comprising the steps of:

providing a partition blank;

folding the partition blank so as to create two opposed plies;
parent welding the opposed plies together into a two ply partition.
2. The method of claim 1 further comprising slotting the two ply partition.
3. The method of claim 1 wherein parent welding the opposed plies comprises heating at least one of the plies and allowed the opposed plies to cool under pressure.
4. A method of forming a partition for use in a partition matrix, said method comprising the steps of:

providing a partition blank comprising an outer skin, a middle layer and a foam interior layer;

folding the partition blank to create two opposed plies;
heating said foam interior layer of at least one of the plies;

applying pressure to the opposed plies to join the foam interior layers while the foam interior layers cool; and slotting said partition.
5. The method of claim 4 wherein heating the foam interior layer of at least one of the plies comprises blowing hot air on the foam interior of at least one of the plies.
6. A method of forming a partition for use in a partition matrix, said method comprising the steps of:

providing a partition blank comprising an outer skin and a foam interior layer;
folding said partition blank so as to create two plies and a smooth upper edge, securing said foam interior layers of said plies together; and slotting said partition.
7. The method of claim 6 wherein securing said foam interior layers of the plies together comprising heating at least one of the foam interior layers and allowing the foam interior layers to cool under pressure.
