背景技术

发明内容

图1示出了例如可以安装在底座上或其他需要为用户提供光纤连通性的区域中的通信/电信连接机柜(telecommunication connection cabinet)100。通信连接机柜100为将连接到光纤分配电缆的外部设备光纤电缆提供位置。分配电缆然后通向用户设备,以在用户位置处提供光纤服务和连通性。用于对用户提供服务的典型配置可能包括利用分离器将来自外部设备(OSP)电缆的信号分离到多个分配电缆中,每个分配电缆提供与特定用户设备的连接。在双向通信结构中,普通的分离器可能将OSP电缆中的光学信号分离为32个独立信号并将这些32个信号结合到该OSP电缆中。通信连接机柜100在本质上类似于共同拥有的美国专利申请No.10/613,764中的机柜,该申请于2003年7月2日提交,名称为“通信连接机柜”,其公开内容结合于此作为参考。

从第二电缆整理区域116开始,电缆114和具有插入连接器180的连接器支架122定位在过剩电缆存储区域118中。每个连接器支架122简单地咬合到隔板124的开口226之一中。附加连接容量的添加现在完成。当需要用户连接时,用户设备电缆108被引导到通信连接机柜100中并由连接器180终止。该连接器插入于适配器阵列120中的适配器123的背面开口中。可替换地,当安装通信连接机柜100时,适配器122中的所有适配器123的背面可以具有预先布线的用户设备电缆108,并且这些电缆根据预计的未来用户接线引导到用户房屋。当这种预先布线的用户需要实际连接时,电缆114仅需插入适当的适配器123的正面中。过剩电缆存储区域118中的电缆114之一被选择并且其连接器180从连接器支架118中去除。选定的电缆114根据需要在第二电缆整理区域116中重新布线,以提供所需的电缆长度,并且连接器180插入于适配器阵列120中的适当适配器123中。如果选定电缆114的连接器180包括防尘盖以保护光纤的抛光端面,在插入到适配器123中之前将该防尘盖去除。
分离器102包括32根电缆114和连接器180,其在安装分离器102时插入于四个连接器支架122中。当这些电缆114和连接器180转移到适配器阵列120中时,一些或所有的连接器支架122可以清空所有的连接器180。此时,空的连接器支架122可以从过剩电缆存储区域118中去除并被丢弃或回收。这些空的连接器支架122的去除将释放隔板124中的开口226,以允许附加分离器102的连接器支架被安装以及更多容量被添加到通信连接机柜100中。
如果至用户设备的连接需要被终止,则适当电缆114的连接器180可以从适配器123中去除。然后,电缆114在电缆整理结构116中重新布线,并且连接器180插入于过剩电缆存储区域118中的连接器支架122的开口150中。
通信连接机柜100的分离器安装区域103包括用于安装高达四个分离器102的空间,而通信连接机柜200提供用于安装高达8个分离器102的空间。通过这种构造,通信连接机柜100具有将高达四个OSP电缆中的每一个分离为32根电缆114、或总共128根电缆114的连接容量。在适配器阵列120中,存在足够数目的适配器123,以允许这些电缆114中的每一个与相应的用户设备电缆108相连。
然而,通信连接机柜200具有将高达八个OSP电缆中的每一个分离为32根电缆114、或总共256根电缆114的连接容量。通信连接机柜200中的适配器阵列120仅提供总共216个适配器123,以用于接收来自电缆114的连接器。一旦适配器阵列120已经完全填充电缆114,则可能在过剩电缆存储区域118中存在多达40个过剩电缆114,该区域118不设有用于与用户设备电缆108连接的适配器123。
如图4至13所示,具有8个开口150的连接器支架122的壳体160通常具有与8个适配器123的阵列相同的占地面积。当适配器阵列120已经完全填充来自分离器102的电缆114时,连接器支架122可以从隔板124中的开口226中去除,并且多达8个适配器123可以定位在每个开口226中。通过将隔板124中的5个开口完全填充适配器123,附加的40个电缆114可以与用户设备电缆108连接,从而有效增大适配器阵列120的容量,以便可以利用40根过剩电缆114。即使5个开口226被适配器123使用,仍然留有用于连接器支架122的开口226,从而使得当与用户设备电缆的连接消除或改变时电缆114可以被存储。
图15示出了第三可替换实施例的通信连接机柜300,其具有类似于通信连接机柜100和200的构造,但是包括位于过剩电缆存储区域118中的隔板224。适配器面板121和隔板224向着电缆整理结构和备用存储器116倾斜,以改善电缆114从电缆整理结构116至适配器123和连接器支架122的转移。此外,电缆支撑件302设置于面板121和隔板224上,以分别提供对延伸到适配器123的电缆114和连接器支架122的支撑。
图16示出了根据本发明的第四实施例的通信连接机柜400。通信连接机柜400在构造上类似于前面描述的通信连接机柜100,200和300,并且具有电缆整理结构416,该电缆整理结构416带有沿适配器阵列120的两侧的备用电缆存储器和过剩电缆存储区域118。与面板121的左侧相邻的适配器123向着通信连接机柜400的左侧倾斜,并且与面板121的右侧相邻的适配器123向着通信连接机柜的右侧倾斜。
图17是第五实施例的通信连接机柜500,其包括位于该通信连接机柜中的并排结构502。每个结构502在构造上类似于通信连接机柜400。
图18是第六实施例的通信连接机柜600,其中过剩电缆存储区域118在一个内壁602的旁侧定位。图19示出了包括多个用于接收连接器支架122的开口226的隔板604。通信连接机柜600中的其他元件类似于前面所述的通信连接机柜。隔板604包括一对安装凸缘606和608,以用于分别连接到内壁602和机柜后壁130。
以上说明、例子和数据提供了对本发明的制造和使用的完整描述。由于可以在不偏离本发明的精神和范围的情况下给出本发明的许多实施例,因此本发明的范围由所附权利要求限定。

Claims (16)

1.一种通信连接机柜,包括:
外壳,其限定出一内腔,该外壳包括用于接近该内腔的开口;
光纤分离器,其用于接收第一光纤电缆并将由该第一光纤电缆承载的光学信号分离到多个光纤分配电缆中,每个光纤分配电缆由光纤连接器和抛光端面终止;
位于该内腔中的电缆整理结构;
至少一个第一光纤连接面板部分和包括多个开口的至少一个第二光纤存储面板部分,所述第一光纤连接面板部分包括多个安装在其上的光纤适配器,每个第二光纤存储面板部分具有前侧和后侧,所述第一光纤连接面板部分的光纤适配器被构造成将通过光纤连接器终止的两个光纤分配电缆光学连接;
至少一个连接器支架,其位于所述至少一个第二光纤存储面板部分的开口之一中,并具有至少一个闩锁部分,以将所述连接器支架可拆卸地安装在所述第二光纤存储面板部分上,该连接器支架包括多个连接器支架开口,每个连接器支架开口可通过所述外壳的开口接近并被构造成接收该光纤连接器之一和防止该连接器的抛光端面被污染,该连接器支架的闩锁部分适于从所述前侧插入到该第二光纤存储面板部分的至少一个开口中,并且该连接器支架的开口可从该第二光纤存储面板部分的前侧接近。
2.如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜,其特征在于,进一步包括位于该内腔中的第二电缆整理结构,其包括备用电缆存储线轴。
3.如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜,其特征在于,进一步包括用于将该第一光纤电缆接合到外部设备电缆的接合面板部分。
4.如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜,其特征在于,该分离器将来自该第一光纤电缆的光学信号分离到32根光纤分配电缆中。
5.如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜,其特征在于,每个连接器支架包括8个用于接收该光纤分配电缆的8个光纤连接器的开口。
6.如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜,其特征在于,所述外壳的开口由一对门覆盖。
7.如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜,其特征在于,进一步包括安装在所述外壳的一分离器安装区域中的多个分离器。
8.一种增大如权利要求1所述的通信连接机柜的连接容量的方法,所述方法包括:
将光纤分配电缆的光纤连接器预先插入到一连接器支架中;
将分离器壳体定位于通信连接机柜中的分离器安装区域处;以及
在光纤连接器插入于连接器支架中的情况下将连接器支架定位于通信连接机柜中的至少一个第二光纤存储面板部分的开口之一中。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,由所述分离器接收的第一光纤电缆与被引导到所述通信连接机柜中的外部设备电缆光学相连。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一光纤电缆的自由端接合到外部设备电缆的一端中。
11.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,在连接器支架被定位于通信连接机柜中后,对应于所述预先插入的光纤连接器的光纤分配电缆在通信连接机柜中被引导到一电缆整理结构,其中光纤分配电缆的过剩电缆段可保留在此处。
12.如权利要求11所述的方法,其特征在于,对应于所述预先插入的光纤连接器的光纤分配电缆在通信连接机柜中的备用电缆存储装置中被引导。
13.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,当连接器支架被定位于所述至少一个第二光纤存储面板部分的开口之一中时,所述连接器支架咬合到所述开口中。
14.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,所述通信连接机柜包含光纤适配器阵列,该阵列中的所有光纤适配器的背面具有预先布线的用户设备电缆,并且在连接器支架已经被定位于所述至少一个第二光纤存储面板部分的开口之一中后,所述预先插入的多个光纤连接器可以从连接器支架中去除并插入所述适配器阵列的适配器中,以根据用户要求提供服务。
15.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,所述光纤连接器作为一个光纤装置模块装载到所述通信连接机柜中。
16.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,在所述连接器支架被定位于所述通信连接机柜中之前,所述分离器壳体被定位于所述通信连接机柜中。
