[0061] In the explanation in FIG. 3A to 3C are exemplary configuration, the sensor 320 is located below the adjustable element 318, sensor 320 and magnet 322 vertically spaced apart and located above the adjustable element 318. You can use any desired type of magnet 322 without departing from the invention, such as neodymium iron pass magnet (neodymium iron bore type magnet) or other known or conventional magnet (permanent magnet). Sensor 320 with respect to the actual position of the magnet 322 and / or the pitch can be significantly altered, to measure and / or changing the sole member 300 (e.g., the midsole member 302) compressible e.g. for a particular application, such as for. In the described exemplary structure 300, the sensor 320 and magnet 322 located in the rear of the shoe is usually part of the article of footwear 350 (e.g., below the calcaneus or heel of a user) occurred in the region corresponding to the maximum compression position. In such a configuration, the sensor 320 and magnet 322 may be substantially at the center between the outer side and inner side of the sole member 300, and the user can later 45mm between about 25mm and about the foot forward.

[0062] If desired, the entire monitoring and / or control system, or at least part of the monitoring and / or control system can be enclosed in a sealed, watertight closure in. 316。 Actuation system 314 may include a drive 316. 326。 More specifically, at least some of the exemplary arrangement, the drive motor 316 may include a transfer element 326 and 3M. 332。 Can be used to control the stiffness of the midsole member 302 or the "elasticity" of the adjustable element 318 may include a limiter (Iimiter) 328, the expansion element 330 and blocking member 332. In particular illustrated embodiment, the driver 316 comprises a screw drive (lead screw drive) are formed by a bidirectional motor 3M and screw conveying member 326 formed. If desired, at least some embodiments of the present invention, the engine 3M servo motor types can be used in radio-controlled model aircraft or other similar objects in small electronic. Screw (threaded rod) 3¾ may consist of any desired material, such as steel, stainless steel and other construction.

326。 [0063] 3¾ motor may be mechanically connected to the transmission element 3¾ clockwise or counterclockwise to drive the transfer element 326. 3¾ transfer element can be designed to engage the threaded stopper 3¾ expansion element 330 with respect to the lateral positioning limiter 3¾ (see Figure: double-headed arrow. 3B). In this illustrated example structure 300, because the limiter 3¾ 3¾ threaded engagement with the transfer element, which avoids the relative rotation of the motor 3M and footwear, and thus set a good position once in this exemplary structure 300, there is no need power limiter 328 to maintain the position. For example, the actuation system 314 may contain enough friction, and is provided with teeth fine enough fine thread on the transport element 3¾ to heel strike or other activities during the next step, or in response to heel strike or other lower step activities to prevent inadvertent rotation of the transfer element 3¾. Of course, other arrangements of the various sensors and control elements are possible without departing from the present invention. As a more specific embodiment, driver 316 may comprise any type of rotary or linear actuator, a gear train, a link mechanism (linkage) or a combination thereof, without departing from the present invention.

[0064] In the illustrated example structure 300, expandable member 330 has an elongated circular cross section constitutes a substantially elliptical cross-section or a generally cylindrical element. Although the shape of the expandable member 330 may be such that, but not necessarily be semicircular arcuate end. The radius of the arcuate ends may be chosen to suit a particular application, such as providing a predetermined amount of bending, and the like. Moreover, these dimensions may be varied at the end of, e.g., when subjected to vertical compressive loads, the control amount of the expansion element 330 of longitudinal expansion. In general, the larger the size or the larger radius end portion by a vertical compressive load, the greater longitudinal expansion is possible. Expandable member 330 may be constructed so as to have a solid outer wall, and optionally, if desired, with foam or other resilient compressible core material. For the expansion element size, shape and material 330 can be freely selected, such as to suit a particular application. 作为更具体的实施例,膨胀元件330可以由塑料或聚合物材料构造而成,如,类似DESMOPAN ® ( 一种可以从德国Leverkusen的Bayer As a more specific embodiment, the expansion element 330 can be constructed from a plastic or polymer material, such as, similar DESMOPAN ® (a can of Bayer Leverkusen from Germany

购 AG commercially available thermoplastic polyurethane material), PEBAX ® (a possible Corp. purchased from France's Atofina Riteaux

The resulting polymer - block co-polyamide polymers), and other thermoplastic materials. In at least some embodiments, the outer wall 330 may be made of at least a single integral member, such as by injection molding, or by other suitable or desired method, conventional methods known in the prior art comprises an expansion element or.

332。 [0065] If desired, 3¾ conveying member 330 may extend through the expandable member 332 and connected to the blocking member. Blocking member 332 for preventing the expandable member 330 can be moved in the direction away from the limiter 328. Alternatively, if desired, or by other parts of the rear wall of the cavity of the sole structure 310 to realize the function of the barrier member 332 and blocking member 332 may be omitted without departing from the present invention. Within the sole structure may also provide a variety of other structural forms without departing from the present invention changes.

[0066] monitor and / or control system for changing the article of footwear 350 impact attenuation characteristic in response to the measured parameters, such as the midsole member 302 in response to the measured compression mode on this application, the description the general operation of the adjustable element 318. When the vertical force (eg, crushes, dancing floor, etc.) is applied to the expansion element 330, its compression. In response to the compression, the expansion element 330 expands in the horizontal direction. 3¾ limiter control / restrict the amount of movement or horizontal expansion element 330 may experience expansion. When the horizontal movement is limited, the vertical movement will also be restricted, it is possible to control the firmness or texture of the midsole member 328 by controlling the position of the limiter. Thus, by controlling the position of the limiter 328, to control the impact of the article of footwear 350 total attenuation characteristics.

It can be used for active and / or automatically controlled when the user crushes the article of footwear 350, dancing floor, etc., the user caused by the midsole member 302 compressed amount [0067] monitor and / or control system. 330。 For example, when wearing a similar explanation in FIGS. 3A to 3C, the user of the article of footwear 350 engages a contact surface in stride or other activities, the vertical force is applied to the expansion via the sole member 300 or the user's foot element 330. This force causes the expansion element 330 in the ground during the expansion, the expansion element 330 until contacting limiter 3¾ date, thereby controlling the amount of compression of the sole member 300 is subjected.

[0068] In the compression process, as part of this exemplary system of monitoring and / or control systems are included in the sensing device 320 measuring the field strength of the magnet 322. In this illustrated example structure, the sensing device 320 disposed near the bottom of the midsole member 302, and a magnet 322 disposed near the top of the midsole member 302, and the expansion element 330 located therein. With the magnet 322 mobile proximity sensing device 320, such as when the midsole member 302, such as the move process, the dancing floor when being subjected to compression, the sensing device 320 detects the change in magnetic field strength. Variation or other variation of the magnetic field sensed may correspond to a force to move (e.g., proportional, etc.). As part of the monitoring and / or control system it is included and the microprocessor 334 may be programmed by a distance adapted to transition (e.g., from the compression of the midsole member 302) the magnetic field strength. Change (and thus the change of the measured magnetic field strength) from the marked midsole member 302 has compression level. Monitoring and / or control system microprocessor 334 can then change the distance or compression measurement result output signal to the actuator system 314 to thereby automatically and in real time to change the article of footwear 350 impact attenuation characteristics (e.g., according to monitoring and / or control system receives a signal from the changing structure of the midsole 302 degrees of hardness or compression). If desired, you can make a two-step move between vacated automatically change impact attenuation characteristics, while the game or actions proceed (eg, high midsole compression force measured or may cause midsole "hardening" and / or low measured midsole compression forces may lead to the midsole or the "softening").

[0069] Of course, other structures or by changing the hardness degree of compression of the midsole member 302 without departing from the present invention. More specific embodiments include an air or fluid-filled bladder (e.g., wherein change in volume or pressure to vary the degree of hardness or compression), piston systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and the like. Shock attenuation characteristic article of footwear may be of any change in the position of the article of footwear without departing from the present invention, as the inside, the outside, or middle, forefoot, arch, a rear foot portion of the foot or a foot, etc. changes in location or more locations.

[0070] The midsole compression detection member 302 can also serve as an indicator for the number of steps in accordance with the present invention, at least some of the system and method embodiments, thereby allowing monitoring and / or control system also provides a pedometer-based information and / or other speed and / or distance information. This data can be stored in the memory 336, the display on the article of footwear, and / or otherwise provided to the user, such as via a wired or wireless connection (typically transmitting / receiving device 338 Interpretation Figures 3A and 3B). Can provide any type of speed and / or distance class information and / or use of any type of data transmission system without departing from the invention, including, as the use described in U.S. Patent US57M ^ 5, US5955667, US6018705, US6052654, US6876947 and US6882955 algorithms and / or system type, each is hereby incorporated by reference.

[0071] Figure 4 illustrates an embodiment of a sensing device can be made (such as sensor 320) to produce output and use it to control the impact attenuation and provide pedometer based speed and / or distance information. As shown in Figure 4 and as described above, the sensing device 320 (e.g., hall sensor or other magnetic sensors) may generate an output Flag measured magnetic field strength of 322. Since the midsole compression (as in swing, dancing floor and other processes), the size of the measured magnetic field strength can change over time (eg, move through the process, etc.). In the swing cycle, the peak if the measured magnetic field strength drops below a predetermined threshold value under 380, may be considered an article of footwear 350 impact attenuation characteristics too hard (eg, midsole and do not provide sufficient compression ), and can be moved to the limiter 3¾ the expansion element 300 can be more expansive position. On the other hand, in a move cycle, the peak if the measured magnetic field strength rises above the predetermined threshold value on the 382, you can consider the impact of 350 footwear too elastic damping characteristics of the (eg, midsole offers too much compression), and can be moved to the limiter 3¾ the expansion element 300 can be less expansive position. Thus, the output from the sensing device 320 can be used to automatically control the impact attenuation characteristics of the article of footwear.

[0072] However, this same sensor data may also be used to provide "step number" information (e.g., due to compression of the midsole member, each step may sense the user's measured). For example, shown in Figure 4, each time when the sensed magnetic field intensity exceeds a certain threshold value 384 when, according to the present invention, at least some of the system and method of embodiments may be considered a user has to move. With this step-number data, together with the marked step user data (such as, previously entered by the data user, previously measured in the measurement path measured from the average height of the launch of a particular user, etc.) elapsed time data and similar data, can be measured according to the system and method of this embodiment of the invention and / and displayed to the user (or anyone else) pedometer based speed and / or distance information (such as distance = steps X step; speed = distance / elapsed time, etc.).

[0073] As described above in conjunction with FIG. 1 to 3C, and if desired, according to the present invention, at least some of the embodiments of the systems and methods may be combined with one or more peripheral devices to operate peripheral devices such as providing information to the user equipment, receiving user input input (such as step length data, etc.) equipment, the receiving device input from other sources (eg, GPS data, map data, etc.) and the like. In the above described embodiment, the monitor and / or control systems and / or speed and distance monitoring system can communicate via a remote device or a wireless connection with peripherals. You can use any desired type of connection, communication systems and / or communication protocol without departing from the invention.

[0074] However, it does not require user input, external input or information source, and / or display device away from monitoring and / or control systems and / or speed and distance monitoring system and / or does not need to communicate wirelessly. For example, if desired, may be used to connect with the wireless opposite wired connection, the electrode or the electrode pin connections. Further, if desired, the user inputs, external inputs or other sources of information (e.g., GPS road system, map information, etc.) and / or display device may be provided in an article of footwear (or other foot-receiving device) on or as a portion of the article of footwear (or other foot-receiving device) is provided, arranged to separate or associated with the article of footwear (or other foot-receiving device). The article of footwear as a more specific embodiment, shown in Figure 5, including monitoring and / or control systems and / or speed and / or distance monitoring system (Fig. 5 expansion element generally designated 330) 400 may also includes a user input device 402 (a) and 402 (b) (eg, in the form of buttons, etc.), which allows the user to increase or decrease, respectively, the input requirements degree of compression of the midsole structure information. As more specific examples, if desired, input buttons 402 (a) and 402 (b) may be used to alter and / or control the position of the limiter 328 (see FIGS. 3A and 3B), thereby changing the midsole member 302 possible degree of compression. Of course, you can set for a user to input other purposes without departing from the invention (eg, to provide additional Footwear control information to control the output information provided as to require some output to input the count step system in the normal stride length data, or other information, etc.).

[0075] In addition to user input devices, the article of footwear 400 may also include one or more display devices 404, which provides various types of information to the user, such as the degree of compression of midsole setting information, the speed and / or distance information and / or any other desired information. For example, the display device 404 may be LED, LCD, or other display device similar to those commonly used in electronic devices, such as tables, cell phone, PDA, MP3 or other portable audio devices, and similar equipment. Moreover, a variety of display devices 404 and / or input system 402 (a) and 402 (b) can be installed separately on any portion of the footwear structure 400 without departing from the invention, as mounted on the upper member, the sole member , the footwear structure more than 400 inches a part.

[0076] In addition to the impact of controlling the amount of attenuation provided, it can also control other features of the article of footwear without departing from the invention. Figure 6 illustrates an example sole structure 500, which includes a change in gait user equipment, for example, helps to correct (eg, reduce or eliminate) the user gait pronation or supination, facilitate the use of were more accurate lift or floor, or for other purposes. As shown, the sole member of the 500 article of footwear may include one or more sensing devices 502 (a) and 502 (b), which senses the user's feet (or footwear) struck contact surfaces the way. Sensing device (such as, in this example 502 (a) Implementation and 502 (b)) may be positioned so that when a user rotation or external rotation within his / her gait sensed. Sensing device 502 (a) and 502 (b) they can be a signal to the microprocessor or monitoring and / or control other parts of the 504, which can be determined, such as the foot on each side of the foot strike (footstrike) concerning the relative timing and / or power. Other microprocessor or monitoring and / or control system portion 504 may be provided onboard footwear items (such as in the midsole, as shown in Figure 3A to 3C) or away from the footwear, as provided in the means for receiving user Input and / or for the user is displayed on the peripheral information. If on one side of the foot rather than the other side or quite large early sensed foot strike (eg, when the detected degree of pronation or supination exceed pre-determined), then you can control is set to footwear a portion of the element 506 (a) and / or 506 (b) (e.g., via the same microprocessor or monitoring and / or other parts of the system or a different microprocessor or control system) so as to change the user's step state or foot strike feature to reduce or eliminate internal rotation or external rotation. As a more specific embodiment, the control element 506 (a) and 506 (b) may be constructed in accordance with a pressure applied to the expansion or contraction of air or fluid-filled bladder, according to the applied pressure becomes softer or harder air or fluid-filled sac above in connection with FIG. 3A to 3C expansion element type described, piston, hydraulic components, pneumatic components. Of course, you can use to detect internal rotation and / or external rotation orientation and / or changes in footwear or sole structure 500 in order to reduce or eliminate internal rotation and / or external rotation orientation and / or otherwise alter the user's gait or foot Features strike any way without departing from the invention. Moreover, as mentioned above, when the user continue to use footwear that can automatically change between the pace of these changes.

[0077] Changes in gait characteristics or individual characteristics foot strike control element 506 (a) and / or 506 (b) may, for any reason, or to respond to any feature of the sensed change without departing from the invention. In addition, the fluid-filled bladder, piston and hydraulic components, pneumatic components or other controlled elements may be provided at any position on the article of footwear without departing from the invention as set in the medial, lateral, or central forefoot foot, at one or more positions arch, midfoot or hindfoot portion or the like.

[0078] For this example sole structure 500 of the sensing device 502 (a) and 502 (b) is capable of detecting foot-contacting surface (such as per step), it is used in the detection of rotation, external rotation or other gait tendencies The same signal can also be used to provide the speed and / or distance measurement information, such as a conventional pedometer type speed and / or distance information without departing from the invention. Thus, according to the same manner as described above in connection with FIG 3A to FIG. 4 described, microprocessor and / or other control systems 500 within the sole member 504 (or another microprocessor or system) may also be used in accordance with one or more the output of the sensing device 502 (a) and / or 502 (b) generated by the speed and / or distance information, such as via remote peripherals via display devices provided on the shoe to the user.

[0079] Figure 7 illustrates an article of footwear 600 of another embodiment, wherein the article of footwear may be automatically controlled. In this example footwear structure 600, the degree of traction provided by the article of footwear 600 according to the sliding amount of the user is detected during the swing be controlled, such as automatically and optionally, in the vacated step between control. As a more specific embodiment, shown in Figure 7, the article of footwear 600 may be configured with one or more sensing device 602, such as overload sensors and / or other devices, which are positioned so that when the user's foot in Moving during coasting or sliding capable of sensing. When detecting the slide or slide (eg, slide or slip exceeds a predetermined amount, which is determined by the algorithm provided in the other microprocessors and / or control system section 604), the microprocessor and / or control system 604 The other part (or another microprocessor or system) may be programmed and adapted to change an article of footwear 600 or more features in an effort to provide better traction. More specifically, in accordance with at least some other portions 604 (or another microprocessor or system) cases, microprocessor and / or control system according to the present invention may be programmed and adapted to change the shoe outsole member 606 wherein at least some of the traction portion in order to provide better traction. As a more specific embodiment, the shoe may be varied traction outsole member 606 to provide features, such as by using one or more heating elements 606 are included in the outsole member 606 or adjacent the outsole member 608 to heat the material outsole member 606. This type of heating element 608 can be used to slightly soften the material of the outsole member 606, thereby providing better traction on the floor or other surface.

[0080] Of course, other methods can be used to change the article of footwear traction characteristics without departing from the invention. For example, when coasting or sliding is detected, the rest of the microprocessor or the control system can be used to automatically shorten additional spikes or cleats included in the article of footwear spikes or cleats (eg, by rotating the length, via pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic cylinders or pressure cylinders and other launch more spikes or cleats length). As another possible embodiment, when detecting the slide and / or sliding a predetermined degree, the rest of the microprocessor or the control system can be used for automatic exposure included in the article of footwear extra tacks or slip nail. Other methods may be provided to change the traction characteristics without departing from the present invention.

[0081] For this example footwear structure 602 sensing device 600 may be capable of sensing the foot of the contact surface (eg, due to changes by excessive load sensor or other detector can detect the direction and testing every step, etc.) , the same signal for detecting skid or slip may also be used to provide speed and / or distance measurement information, such as a conventional pedometer type speed and / or distance information without departing from the present invention. Thus, according to the above in conjunction with FIG. 3A in the same manner as described in FIG. 4, the microprocessor 600 an article of footwear and / or other parts of the control system 604 (or another microprocessor or system) may also be used in accordance with the the output of the sensing device 602 to generate the speed and / or distance information, such as via remote peripherals, via a display board and other footwear items provided to the user.

Shows another [0082] The article of footwear 700 may be controlled in the embodiment of FIG. In this example footwear structure 700, 700 footwear toughness level can come from one or more sensing devices (such as a display signal sensing device 702 in FIG. 8) of the output and control, optional and automatically, and when the vacant (e.g. real time, in the middle ground or interaction between each step) to give controlled. As an example, when the user step and sends this information to the microprocessor or the control system 704, the sensing device 702 may sense an article of footwear 700 degree bend. If the amount exceeds the upper limit bending or below the lower limit, it can be according to the signal as a microprocessor or other parts of the control system 704 is provided to change the degree of toughness article of footwear. As another example, if desired, the sensor may be positioned to sense the various parts of the sole member of the user's foot is applied to (eg, the insole at the heel and toe area, etc.) the degree of pressure to sensing when a user tries to bend the shoe shanks (such as, for dancing shoes and / or aerobic shoes), and then you can change the article of footwear 700 toughness to allow the shank of the more or less bent , depending on where pressure is applied by the user's foot and / or by the pressure exerted.

[0083] The method can be used to change any article of footwear toughness level and toughness level can be changed at any location article of footwear without departing from the invention. Figure 8 - generally illustrates an embodiment in which altered levels of toughness support arch portion of the article of footwear 700, such as by changing the thickness 706 is included in the shank region of the supporting plate system (herein generally set forth in Example through a plate relative to the other 706 (b) moving a board 706 (a) to change the thickness of the plate system 706 to thereby increase or decrease the total thickness of the plate systems shank region 706). Alternatively, as another embodiment, if desired, additional plate members can be moved from one region 700 of the article of footwear to another area of the plate to provide additional support material or reducing sheet support material within a given region amount, to thereby increase or decrease the toughness of the region. As still another embodiment, the heating and / or cooling elements may also be provided to the article of footwear 700, mechanical equipment can be fixed, loosened, move, etc. and the like so as to vary the degree of resilience of the support material without departing from the present invention. Other methods may be provided to change the toughness of the present invention without departing from.

[0084] For this example footwear structure 700 sensing device 702 may be capable of sensing the foot of the contact surfaces (eg, due to the detected amount of bending every step, etc.), so for detecting the degree of bending of the same signal can also be used to provide the speed and / or distance measurement information, such as a conventional pedometer type speed and / or distance information without departing from the invention. Thus, according to the above in conjunction with FIG. 3A in the same manner as described in FIG. 4, the microprocessor 700 an article of footwear and / or other parts of the control system 704 (or another microprocessor or system) may also be used in accordance with the the output of the sensing device 702 to generate the speed and / or distance information, such as via remote peripherals, via a display board and other footwear items provided to the user.

[0085] Figure 9 illustrates the article of footwear 800 may be controlled in a further embodiment. In this example footwear structure 800, the various aspects of the article of footwear 800 engages a user or wear to the way the foot can be controlled, optionally automatically, and when the vacant (e.g., in real time, between each step or interaction with medium ground) under control. Can come from one or more sensing devices (shows the output of a single sensing device 80¾ in FIG. 9 to control one or more articles of footwear fit resistance. As an example, when the move, jumping and other process When in contact with the ground or other surface, the sensing device 802 may sense the amount of pressure applied to measuring the foot by a user, such as the effort made by the user of the measurement structure. This data can be sent to the control system 804 or microprocessor the other parts. If the contact pressure exceeds the upper limit or below the lower limit, then you can change the laces or other fastening systems fastening article of footwear 806, such as a microprocessor or the control system in accordance with section 804 of the other signal to change.

[0086] can be used to change the tightness of fastening systems or other features of the method fit for an article of footwear without departing from the invention. Figure 9 illustrates generally used in which the fastening system by changing the belt member 806 (for example, a band member in this embodiment 806 wrapped several times around the user's foot - across the upper member, through the sole member, etc.) to change the length of the fastening system embodiment, the degree of tightening. Can, such as using a microprocessor or other control system portion 804 to change the length of this band member 806 so as to wrap or not wrap some of the band members 806 spaced supply device 808 (eg, roller (roller), etc.). As another example, if desired, a microprocessor or other control system portion 804 may be used to move the member 810 by a clamp or clasp member 806 with the majority (e.g., by rotating the engagement portion 806 of the belt clip 810 ). As still another embodiment, if desired, a microprocessor or other control system portion 804 may be used to lace fastening system into or out of the clamping member clamps or laces, to change worn around the outer periphery of the foot of the wearer length dress belt or wire, and / or otherwise alter or wear footwear engaged to one aspect of the user's foot way. Controlled fastening systems and / or other elements fit can be located anywhere in the article of footwear and / or at any desired location, and other parts in any desired manner of engaging users or articles of footwear and foot and without departing from the invention. Shoes liner This type of system can be used to automatically customize the shoe size to the user at any given time of use, and other equipment and worn by a user-independent (ie, no shoes liner, thin , thick shoes pad, pad within a plurality of pairs of shoes, etc.). As described above, the user input can also be such a fit adjustment system receives that at least some of the user at a given time can fit of control types (such as for tight fit of the movement, at other times loose fit of, run or sprint for tight fit of sex to fit loose for walking or jogging, etc.).

[0087] For this example footwear structure 800 sensing device 802 may be capable of sensing the foot of the contact surface (eg, due to the detected pressure sensing every step, etc.), so for controlling the tightness or fit Characteristic of the same signal can also be used to provide the speed and / or distance measurement information, such as a conventional pedometer type speed and / or distance information without departing from the invention. Thus, according to the above in conjunction with FIG. 3A in the same manner as described in FIG. 4, the article of footwear 800 microprocessor and / or other parts of the control system 804 (or another microprocessor or system) may also be used in accordance with the the output of the sensing device 802 to generate the speed and / or distance information, such as via remote peripherals, via a display board and other footwear items provided to the user.
