Abstract

当提供新的、增强的服务时,服务提供商希望能为使用者提供有容错能力,透明的接口。因为需要将费用保持在最低限度,灵活性对于现存的硬件和软件是十分重要的,因此,人们同样希望具有容错能力的业务能够灵活地穿过具有多重硬件线路和各种不同版本的软件的接口。
为了提供一个增强的网络,局间电信公司希望能接入至少一个双绞线线路或替代无线设备,在常规的本地电话网里寻路之前,局间电信公司可以将每个单独的使用者接至本地电话网。人们希望能在由本地业务提供商提供的分路器和调制解调器之前接入这些线路。通过接入双绞线线进入用户驻地,局间电信公司可以通过提供更宽的带宽细分业务,提高用户驻地设备的性能,以及通过提供可以作为替代的竞争性业务来减少整个系统的费用。
新的结构可以利用一部视频电话和(或)其它诸设备给一个终端用户提供若干新服务;在靠近用户驻地的智能业务导向器(ISD)将许多数字业务复用和协调在一个双绞线线路上;一个设备管理平台(FMP)在本地电话网的中心局或DLC门口(VAULT)处将数据选路至一个合适的局间电信公司的网络。一个网络服务器平台(NSP)与FMP连接起来为用户提供新颖的业务并可以将由局间电信公司提供的服务与由本地电话网提供的业务区别开。

图2中,ISD22可以与多种设备连接,包括模拟和数字话音电话15,18;数字视频电话130,用以监控住宅安全的设备,仪表读数设备(未画出),公用事业设备/电源管理设备(未画出),传真设备16,个人微机14,有线电视终端(未画出),媒体播放器/录音机(未画出)和(或)其它数字或模拟设备。部分或全部这些设备可以与ISD22连接,通过各种合适的方式例如一个和(或)多双绞线线和(或)一个无线连接。例如,在一个双绞线上可以以多点方式存在许多数字设备。同样的,模拟电话和其它模拟设备也可以通过常规技术而以多点方式存在。
ISP22可以位于住宅(或商业)内或安装在住宅(或商业)外。ISD22可以靠由本地或中心局34供应的电能和(或)靠由用户电源公司供应的用户电能操作。在ISD22包含一个调制解调器的地方,比较可取的是由用户住宅内给ISD22提供额外的电源从而达到调制解调器最佳的性能。

当在CPE10发生电路故障时,寿命线126可以连续提供电话业务。寿命(LIFELINE)线126可以用来将ISD22连至本地电信公司中心局34和,特别是,位于中心局34的FMP32。

在进一步的示例中,ISD22可以配置作为一个IP代理服务器,这样连到代理服务器上的设备使用传输控制协议/因特网协议(TCP/IP)协议。这个结构允许任何与ISD有关的设备通过FMP32上的IP连接进入因特网。在ISD22被配置作为一个IP代理服务器的地方,它可以协调不支持TCP/IP协议的附加设备。在这个实例中,ISD22可以有一个专有的或常规的接口,这个接口可以连接ISD22到任何一个有联系的设备例如连到置顶盒131,个人计算机14,视频电话130,数字电话18,和(或)一些其他用户终端设备。

当发生数字数据链路故障时,(例如在FMP32处的TVRC调制解调器或在ISD22处的TVRC调制解调器114发生故障时),只有模拟话音信号可以在用户线30上发送。如果发生这种情况,模拟话音信号可直接寻路至线路插卡96处,避过TVRC调制解调器80,数字滤波器82,控制器复用器84和TDM MUX88。这样,当发生了数字数据链路故障时仍能保证话音通信。线路插件96可以将模拟话音信号转换到数字形式(例如,TDM形式)然后发送数字化的话音信号到TDM总线90上并最终通过控制器92和设备接口94以便传输到一个或更多的外部网上。

对于高端住宅消费者,他们想使每天的生活和接入信息高速公路变得更方便与简单,可视电话是一种信息与电话接入业务,它提供了一个到本地交换通信公司(LEC)的话音和触摸屏幕接口,使得广泛的电话业务传输简单,而且由于自动操纵业务,用户要求,销售而节省费用。新的,增强的业务包括许多象在家中的交互电子目录购物,广告和为每个家庭提供立即的,高速的互连网接入到每一个住家的能力,这些业务渗透到当前缺乏家用个人电脑的市场。附加业务包括高保真话音和为用户接入网络服务器的触摸屏客户接口。这种业务通过非对称的高速数据传输来实现。更高速的数据传输率,第三方付费,银行业,ATM智能卡交易,消费品附单的电子传输,交互视频电话会议,为在家里工作的当前工艺水平的连网,从家中进行电子购物的专线业务,电子附单,广告,和高速因特网接入。
这种新结构的实施考虑到了本地业务的差异,它将从增值业务中提供新的收入流,并且有极大削减操作花消的潜力。这种结构使得受益于现有环路工厂的附加性能被提取,并且最大限度地使用现存的基本网络和当前系统。
这个新结构实现了主动业务,用户通过触摸,话音或触摸与话音的结合命令去触发,以便得到基于整个网络的响应来扩展常规业务和提供全新业务。这些响应和相关业务包括呼叫连接,信息传递,触发网络响应和性能处理。
提供呼叫的呼叫连接业务要通过触摸与被叫相关的图标来初始化呼叫。它也使得会议呼叫不需要操作员和通过白板增加来初始化交互式呼叫而自动调度会议电话。分类业务也同样能通过图标调用并且用自然的方式提示而不需要记住数字代码。
信息传输业务规定了一个简单的接口,使得数据库和查询引擎技术(从前仅可以接入网络计算机)适用于电话业务。例如:接入地区的,国家的和国际的电子交互黄,白页目录,巡航和接入语音,电子邮件,和传真消息,查看AT&T的业务帐单,查看AT&T的呼叫计划,查看分类和其他业务提供。因此,特定的市场,操作业务,付费和用户参与功能可以通过客户接入而不需要中间业务代表------降低了客户操作花销而增加了客户的方便。可视电话不需要中间媒介从屏幕上呼叫信息并将信息读给用户而且它提高了客户接入信息的效率。
为响应一个触发,网络提供了一个屏幕接口,使得客户可以不通过访问人工接线员即可获得操作员服务,自动获得错号的记录,查看费率表,AT&T呼叫计划或其他类型的业务的自供应,执行会议呼叫,在自动收报机的纸带上定义用户配置文件,该纸带上卷入了想在会议电话屏幕上看到的信息。其他的触发业务包括唤醒业务,它能够在事先指定的时间自动呼叫用户。
性能处理允许用户通过可视电话和它的相关卡-揽子处理(SWIPER)在安全保护下进行性能处理。这些处理包括通过无纸处理的交付定期费用,执行电子银行操作,包括:在家中获得智能卡的兑换而不需要去银行或ATM取款机,实施电子商务,通过同步定货屏幕购买在电视上广告了的商品。电子帐单付费的机制不仅有利于用户,同时通过允许这些公司公布给AT&T的源帐单收入,使得业务的提供者获得了额外的收入。
同样也可以提供被动的业务,以至不再需要主动的用户响应。这些业务包括:广告,提供电子附单,个人信息传递业务和接入社区消息,如:学校关闭。把广告信息直接馈送到用户驻地设备为本地接入网的提供者提供了一个新的,有非常大的潜在能力的商业机会。只要可视电话没有处于积极使用状态,广告就可以显示在可视电话上。在网络上保持的用户轮廓文件使广告以用户的兴趣,地理位置,人口统计学,或其他的一些标准为目标。
提供电子附单是另外一个被动业务。电子附单可以在一整天中的适当时候在触摸屏上作为“屏幕的节省者”被显示(例如:清早的桔子汁)。通过刷他们的智能卡,客户可以电子的方式收集这种附单(coupons),并且在商店中使用,而不必从报纸上剪下这样不方便,等等。同时AT&T加入了附单行业并获得了另一个收入流。
传输个人消息并协调不同的内容来帮助创建用户轮廓文件。再有,关于瞬间洪水,龙卷风,暴风雪等的危机情况广播,可以广播到受影响地区的用户,而不影响同时进行的用户的其他事物处理。这些紧急信号也可以与警告一起发送去唤醒和向用户提醒潜在的自然灾害。
提供的交互式业务包括:把图形触摸屏可视电话,能同时进行的话音和数据能力,用以实现更高级的用户接口(而不是常规的话音电话)的高速数据线结合起来以实现大量的新的交互业务。这些业务包括多媒体型增强的话音呼叫,虚拟PBX业务,指向和点击会议,智能呼叫管理,因特网接入和通用的多媒体信箱。
多媒体增强了呼叫即允许用户用白板图形或文本去补充语音呼叫。多媒体的格式提供了改进的用户要求,增强了的目录订购,和话音与数据响应的交互式应用。此外,它还提供了按需提供信息和支持在家工作的接入。
虚拟拟的PBX业务包括在屏幕显示消息或呼叫提示,具有呼叫建立/桥接能力的使用触摸接口的图形呼叫管理。点中并击会议系统提供了图形接口去初始化POTS呼叫。智能呼叫管理系统提供了一个简单的指示去指示呼叫管理保持一份个人注册表,移动性管理者,呼叫调度,回叫业务和一个个人助理。
不是用个人微机或调制解调器通过因特网业务提供商(例如:全球网)而接入因特网,这种接入功能可以实现,它允许用户在不接入个人计算机的情况下接入电子邮件,环球信息网,包含语音,文本,声音的多媒体信箱,和普通接口能力的综合映象。
新结构的灵活性在于允许业务的实现分阶段,以使对现有基础结构的压力减至最小,并使业务的提供者去处理和支持业务实现中出现的问题。当安装过程变得日常,附加业务可按照用户的要求分阶段实现。早期阶段可以以特定人群和地区为市场对象。
例如,初始实现可以为已有两条或更多条双绞线连到本地局的用户而改变。可视电话包括Win32应用程序接口(API),它支持TCP/IP,POP3,RAS,和有内置浏览器的TAPI协议。其中一条双绞线通过调制解调器(28.8或可能是56kbps)接到AT&T的服务器。第二条双绞线被用来交换电话业务并通过图形用户接口进行管理。在全球网业务中心的AT&T服务器能够提供黄,白页目录信息,呼叫计划描述和速率表的接入。其它的接口可以提供全球网因特网业务的接入,例如:环球信息网,电子邮件,广告,和电子商务平台。
对于触摸屏幕业务的要求是连至服务器的数据链路的可获得性。在实施的后期阶段,连到家中的DSL链路采用了同时支持话音和数字业务的接入协议。在初始阶段,同时的话音和数据的能力是通过当内置的运动检测器被附近的人触发时,数据线自动呼叫WorldNet POP来大致实现的。本地显示在这些过程中,AT&T将在屏幕上提供广告和个人信息并且支持触摸激活业务(例如:呼叫,分类业务)和目录信息传递业务。所有的到LEC交换机(例如,DTMF,迅速挂机,等等)上的分类业务的话音呼叫的线路信令和拨号都由回应触屏命令的视频电话的处理引擎来产生,它可以在需要时得到第二条客户服务器连接的双绞线的支持。
实施的后面阶段包括将先进的xDSL引入用户驻地设备以扩展视频电话业务的范围。这些xDSL业务将支持7KHz的高保真话音和到网络服务器的触摸屏客户接口。这将轻松传送大范围的电话业务,并且由于是自动的话务员业务,用户要求,计费,供应,和交易,使得费用降低。增强的业务,有:第三方付费,银行业,智能卡ATM交易,在家中进行的电子购物,电子附单和用xDSL连接实现的广告。此外,高速因特网接入和延伸因特网的范围到没有个人微机的用户是可能的。话音呼叫可以使用分组到电路的转换器(PCT),通过使用TR-303的信令模拟修改过的接入本地局的数字用户环路,来和本地局交互话音。
图5例举了NSP36的一个框图,由在新结构的实施中所使用的设备和业务组成。连接到SONET的干线40和42的是网关210。网关210可能与以前讨论的路由器185有相同的功能。在FDDI环202附近的是管理服务器182,信息数据库服务器183,一个或多个应用服务器群184,如图6所示。
连接管理器214在管理业务和消息时初始和终止电话呼叫的布置。在典型的情况下,连接管理器214自动操作呼叫过程。这种自动操作包括执行计算机的命令去在数据库服务器218中查询,以确认此客户是所需业务的客户或所呼叫号码是所需业务的用户。此外,连接服务器214使用操作,管理,维护和供应216去跟踪计费信息。当连接服务器214获得了证实以后,它就从应用服务器220上转到应用212上。

除了在图1中显示的设备,图10例举了所有的业务概念。这个结构所使用的技术要点是自适应的DSLs30的使用。自适应的DSL支持包括高保真的分组话音传输和健壮的路由选择ARS的高级数字信号处理。ARS把出去的,商业组线路上的呼叫导向客户最想去的路由器,允许客户为PSTN 46每一个申请付费的码点预先选择最多4个专用路由。
图10中是自动业务代理338和IP的电路转换器340。自动业务代理338支持局间电信公司的OSS,消息系统,电子商务和广告系统。IP电路转换器340把IP分组转换成适合在电路交换的网络元素上传输的通信。

这种结构支持下述的几种连接性业务:高速因特网的接入,CD质量话音传输,非对称和对称的高速数据传输率,双向的384kbps的视频传输,视频会议,在家中或可能在邻近地区的具有移动性的无线话音,在ISD范围内由蜂窝通信转变来的常规的陆线业务,接近ISD具有移动性的无线数据。这种结构支持以下的信息呼叫管理业务:定制的本地信令业务(CLASS),呼叫提示和重定向,通过接入因特网使用智能卡或信誉卡的电子商业,多方话音连接,电话管理,可靠的私有网中网(话音和数据),接入团体的在线信息业务,接入私有或多个私有的网间网,接入交互式多媒体和按需式电影。
在线管理也是可能的,执行用户激活业务供应,电子激活业务查询,电子计帐和付费机制,话音激活的命令执行,“跟随我”的业务配置,和虚拟拟的家中位置配置。用户接口性能包括独特的数字信号,触摸屏和拨号板接入业务,综合的个人计算机接入,智能卡的读取和再充电能力,话音拨号,与移动电话(例如:IS54,IS95,GSM或其它的移动电话)间的兼容,和个人数字助手,通过RF调制解调器的网络计算机,个人计算机之间的兼容。
图11例举了ISD和FMP之间的协议层次结构。对于话音呼叫业务,TVRC协议400提供物理层。数据链路层402在数据分组前附加6比特的报头(header),网络层404可以由Q.931,脉冲编码调制(PCM)或G.722。Q.931标准支持带外信令。对于数据传输,主机到网络层401使用TVRC协议。因特网层403由IEEE802.3标准支持。因特网层405也支持网间协议IP。因特网层403和405定义了正式的数据分组格式并且把IP数据分组传送到想要的目的地。传输层407采用传输控制协议TCP,用户数据报协议UDP和资源预留协议RSVP。
图12例举了FMP和网络之间的协议层次结构。短格式(选项1)和长格式(选项2)都使用SONET协议408作为物理层。在短格式下,数据链路层使用TR303[410]。最终,ATM412协议将代替数据链路层的TR303[410]。在短格式下,网络层由Q.931[414]来支持传输信令信息并且G.711(PCM)或G.722[416]将支持话音信号的传输。在长格式下,Q.2931[418]支持信令信息的传输,G.711(PCM)或G.722[420]将支持话音信号的传输。在长格式下,SAAL422和ATM适配层1(AAL1)424各自负责信令和话音的传送。适配层AAL与物理层完全独立,把高层的信息,例如数据分组转换成可以穿越ATM网络的ATM信元。在接受端,AAL把信元转换回高层信息。
图13例举了在FMP和网络之间的可能的数据协议层次结构。在主机到网络层,要用TVRC,SONET协议426或ATM协议428来传送从FMP32到网络的数据。在网络层,带外信令由SAAL430执行,通信由AAL5[432]来支持。在网络层,使用点到点的434,点到点的隧道协议436,以及IP438来传输通信。在传输层,TCP440支持通信。
图14例举了使用端到端ATM的从ISD22到PSFN46的话音业务(选项1)的协议层次结构。ISD22在物理层通过自适应DSL30连接到FMP32。ISD22,FMP32,ATM交换机和本地局(LSO)451都采用ATM444支持他们的数据链路层。AAL1[446]支持ISD22和LS0451的网络层,PCM448支持它们的传输层。在FMP32,ATM444支持数据链路层。从ATM交换机449到FMP32,NSP36和LSO451的连接使用的信令在物理层由Q.2931支持。
图15例举了使用TR-303接口实现话音业务的协议层次结构。FMP32和LSO449的数据链路层454都由TR303穿越本地接入网来支持。
图16例举了ATM上从ISD22到因特网骨干网50的点到点数据业务的协议层次结构。ISD22在主机到网络层通过自适应DSL30连接到FMP32。ISD22的网络层由IEEE802.3[466]支持,传输层由IP468支持。在设备管理平台(FMP)32中,IEEE802.3[466]存在于物理层与因特网层之间以提供FMP32和ISD22之间的连接。对于FMP32和ATM交换机449之间的连接,使用Q.2931的信令。在FMP32和ISP接入结点460之间可以建立一条永久虚拟电路PVC470,以便当必须有一条虚拟电路存在的环境下,电路建立与拆除时,为系统预留带宽。当这种情况不存在时,可以按需动态建立一条交换虚拟电路SVC427。
图17例举了使用ATM信令的数据业务的协议层次结构。图17和图16类似,因为永久虚拟电路PVC470和SVC472都是按照系统的要求建立的。
图18例举了在FMP32和接入结点490之间的使用点到点隧道协议的虚拟拟专用数据网“外部网”。点到点的隧道协议把点到点的数据分组封装在IP格式中并且使用第三层协议。点到点隧道协议的灵活性是允许实现由客户发起或对客户透明,但确实需要IP做支持。从接入结点490,用户可以连接到社团专用网492,在用户业务设备和专用网之间建立一条的安全连接。
图19例举了建立从用户业务设备到专用数据网的点到点的隧道协议的协议层次结构。ISD22维持了一个用户驻地设备与设备管理平台(FMP)32之间的自适应DSL连接。在设备管理平台(FMP)32与接入结点490之间,数据沿着ATM骨干网发送,至少要经过交换虚拟电路SVC472上的一个ATM交换机449。
当范例系统和目前发明的具体化实例作为例子显示出来,当然很容易被理解,但发明并不限于实施例本身。实施例本身可能被对结构,特别是前述教学内容熟悉的人所修改。例如:上述例子的每一个元素可能被单独使用或和其它具体化事物的元素一起使用。
Claims (27)
1.在用户驻地设备和许多通信网络之间的提供增强业务的通信结构,包括:
连接到智能业务导向器的用户驻地设备,它能把用户业务设备上的传输的信号复用到至少一条连接设备管理平台的双绞线上;
所述设备管理平台,它从数据分组中过滤,分离出话音信号,并且把所述数据分组传送到至少连接所述通信网中一个通信网的路由器;和
在功能上连接到许多为所述的通信结构提供系统管理的设备管理平台的网络服务器平台。
2.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的模拟电话。
3.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的数字电话。
4.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的可视电话。
5.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的传真机。
6.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的个人计算机。
7.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的网络计算机。
8.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的个人辅助。
9.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一套连接到智能业务导向器的置顶设备。
10.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的多媒体中心。
11.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的多媒体中心。
12.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的用户业务设备包括至少一个连接到智能业务导向器的实用仪表。
13.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的智能业务导向器是由一个可以提供话音编码,数据接口控制,声音和数据的多路复用的智能业务导向器组成的。
14.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的智能业务导向器和设备管理平台使用第一和第二调制解调器在功能上连接在一起。
15.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的设备管理平台连接到智能业务导向器并提供对智能业务导向器和通信网络之间所传信号的多路复用,多路分解,寻路,信令,分组/电路转换,和线路监测功能中的至少一种。
16.权利要求1中所述的通信结构,所述的网络服务器平台提供至少一个以下功能:与已注册的设备管理平台相关的业务的连接管理,应用的运行,操作,维护和供应功能。
17.在用户驻地设备和许多的有主干线的通信网之间提供增强业务的通信结构,包括:
有智能业务导向器的用户驻地设备,智能业务导向器可以多路复用用户业务设备的信号,使得它们可以在连接到设备管理平台的至少一条双绞线上传输;
设备管理平台从数字信号中过滤和分离话音信号,并把数据分组传送到与通信网相连的路由器上,所述业务管理平台与所述通信网相连,把所述话音信号传到改进的数字用户环路,在所述通信网的主干线上复用所述传输的话音信号;
连接到许多设备管理平台的网络服务器平台,提供对所述通信结构的系统管理。
18.权利要求17中所述通信结构,由所述用户驻地设备发送和接受的所述信号包括模拟和数字信号。
19.权利要求18中所述的通信结构,该通信结构的系统管理包括:连接管理业务,应用运行能力,操作,管理,维护和供应中的至少一种。
20.权利要求18中所述的通信结构,其中所述智能业务导向器和所述设备管理平台之间的所述连接包括保护器块。
21.权利要求18中所述通信结构,其中所述智能业务导向器和所述设备管理平台之间的所述连接包含一个xDSL通信连接。
22.权利要求17中所述通信结构,其中所述设备管理平台和所述通信网络之间的所述连接是一根光纤。
23.权利要求17中所述通信结构,其中所述设备管理平台和所述通信网络之间的所述连接是一根电路。
24.权利要求17中所述通信结构,其中所述通信网络由到负责处理呼叫建立和路由话音信号的信令网的连接组成。
25.权利要求17中所述通信结构,其中所述通信网络包括一条到公用交换电话网的连接。
26.权利要求17中所述通信结构,其中所述通信网络包括一条到专用企业内部互连网的连接。
