Abstract

通用遥控方法和装置
发明背景
本发明涉及设备的通用遥控领域。
在许多消费产品(在此也称为设备、装置或器具)中包含“多功能”或“通用”遥控(URC)手持式发射器目前已成为习惯，如电视、录像机(VCR)、数字化视频光盘播放器(DVD)、卫星接收器、光盘播放器和音频系统，这只是列举了少数的几个。URC的好处在于消费者不仅可以控制与之一起售出的具体设备(在下文中称为“第一”设备)，消费者还可以使用同一个装置控制其它任何设备(在下文中称为“不同的”设备)。
由于需要能够控制这么多的不同设备，即，TV、VCR、DVD、电缆、卫星、立体声系统，以及其它的设备，在URC上提供一个或多个“软”键来选择在一特定时刻由遥控选定的设备已经成为一种习惯。每次当这种软键被按下时，URC被编程在控制每个不同设备之间转换。在只有一个这种软键的情况下，如果URC当时正控制TV，按这个软键一次可以将控制转换到VCR，而按这个软键两次可以将控制转换到DVD。在每种类型设备都有单独软键的情况下，URC可以有一个软键用来转换URC控制TV，另一个软键转换URC控制第一VCR，而另一个转换URC控制第二VCR，等等。
不管是只使用单个软键使URC在控制不同设备之间转换还是为每种类型的不同设备都提供一个软键，使用URC的人常常不记得哪个设备在URC微处理器中是“现行的”，即，这个人不记得URC最后转换到哪个设备，而且变得困惑、失望和气恼。有时候人在无意中按下VCR设备软键之后还相信自己是在控制TV，而且直到他使用软键转换回到TV才能使用控制键或者任何“映射”键(即，控制其它功能的键)改变TV频道。使用现有技术，没有通过URC软键被选的设备“忽略”用于控制其它设备的信号。有时候这个问题导致不公正的担保纠纷。
发明概述
本发明的一个目的是解决URC用户不知道选择了哪个设备、装置或器具进行控制的问题。另一个目的是提供改进的URC，在用户企图控制没有选择的设备时给予警告方面更加方便和友好。
这些和其它目的由本发明来解决，本发明一方面包括一个系统，该系统包括第一可遥控设备和通用遥控发射器，该通用遥控发射器带选择键用来选择控制第一可遥控设备或不同的可遥控设备，及控制键使控制信号得以发射来控制所选择的设备，其中第一设备通过指示所选择的设备不是第一设备来响应对不同设备的控制信号。
第一设备可以指示已经选择了一个不同的设备，或者通过解释从URC接收到的控制信号指示选择了哪个不同的设备。
包括微处理器的URC一般被编程以便当控制键被按下时，与控制码一起发射所选择设备的标识码。之前将有一个软键被按下以转换微处理器中的设备选择程序，因此响应控制键被按下，所选择设备的标识码将被召唤并与控制码一起发射。
第一设备必须有显示器、合成语音发生器，或其它的指示系统和解释接收自URC发射的代码的微处理器。象现有技术的设备，第一设备被编程以正常方式响应对第一设备的控制码，但是根据本发明的第一设备也被编程响应与对其它设备的控制码一起发射的设备标识码，其它设备可以在发射器中被选择或转换，并且指示选择了哪个其它设备，或仅仅指示有其它设备被选择的事实。
例如，当用户在已经选择VCR后还企图按面向TV的控制按钮时，TV可以在频道指示位置显示如“VCR”的文字。在另一个实例中，例如，如果VCR是第一设备而且用户已经使用一个软键转换发射器控制TV，然后企图通过按PLAY控制VCR，VCR将显示“TV”指示转换状态，或者它可以产生一个合成语音指示“TV已选择”。用这种方式，用户可以知道正在使用哪种遥控模式。
该新技术有几个好处，例如低成本，体现在一个设备中只需要多一点代码空间就可以实现，没有影响功率消耗，而且在同样品牌设备的普通显示器或语音发生器之上不需要附加的显示设备或语音发生器。
在一个优选的实施例中，URC发射器和第一设备，如TV的供应厂商将对URC进行编程以便在开始发射对每一种可能的其它设备的控制信号时，或者在这样一个控制码结束时，发射所选设备码。这样，控制发射将包括TV不能正常识别的控制不同设备的代码格式，还有TV能够识别的标识所选设备的代码。用这种方式，接收编码得到简化，而且对于URC只需要非常小的代码改变。
这很容易在任何TV、VCR或其它解码无线(IR，RF，声音等)遥控命令的设备中实现，并产生屏幕显示，或面板指示，语音或其它任何音频或视频指示。

图1说明了手持式遥控发射器的一个实施例。
图2示出了一个遥控微处理器逻辑的方框图。
图3示出了用于一个可控制设备的微处理器逻辑的方框图。
优选实施例详述
参考图1，提供了一种手持式遥控发射器12，带控制键13，14，等等，以及一个或多个设备选择键11，10，等等，设备选择键使微处理器在对不同设备的控制之间转换。例如，微处理器可以被转换控制电视、VCR、DVD、音频系统、卫星接收器、电缆箱、烤箱或其它许多设备中的任何一个。按下控制键13，14等使微处理器通知发射器发送控制码，但是依赖于在发射器微处理器的存储器中哪个设备被选择或转换，通过按下单个控制键可以发送不同的控制码。例如，如果通用遥控发射器已经被转换控制VCR，按下ON控制键将导致微处理器使发射器发送由VCR接收的ON控制码并且处理控制VCR的ON功能，但是那个代码对其它可能接收到该代码的设备无效，如电视，音频系统等。
现在参考图2，当接收到一个指示设备选择键已按下的信号时，微处理器转换16控制逻辑来控制所选择的设备。例如，通过带单个选择键的遥控装置，按键一次可以转换到控制VCR。通过对每种可控制设备都有一个专用选择键的遥控装置，按下相应选择键如VCR将转换微处理器控制逻辑到VCR控制程序。
当遥控装置上的控制键被按下时，例如ON键，微处理器通过发射包括VCR-ON码和VCR SELECTED码的代码响应17按键。
参考图3，第一设备，在本实例中为电视，接收18控制和设备选择码，在本实例中为VCR-ON或VCR SELECTED，并且电视中的微处理器检查或测试代码是否是关于电视的，而且如果是的话，就执行控制指令。象传统的系统，电视在接收到任何遥控代码时不执行控制指令，除非与该代码相应的代码在其微处理器中被编程。然而，第一设备，如电视，微处理器被编程以解释设备选择码，在本例中为VCRSELECTED，而且在VCR上显示21关于所选设备类型的指示，在本例中为叠加在电视显示器上的“VCR SELECTED”字样。
尽管本发明联系具体的实施例进行了描述，很显然在不背离本发明主旨和范围的情况下可以有各种修改，可选实施例，改进和变化。

Claims (11)

1、一种通用遥控系统，包括
第一可遥控设备，及
通用遥控发射器，带选择键用来选择控制第一可遥控设备或不同的可遥控设备，还带控制键用来发射控制信号控制所选择的设备
其中第一设备通过指示所选择的设备不是第一设备来响应对不同设备的控制信号。
2、权利要求1中的系统，其中第一设备指示选择了哪个不同设备。
3、权利要求1中的系统，其中第一设备和不同设备各自选自包括电视、录像机、电缆箱、音频系统、卫星解码器、DVD播放器和DBS接收器的组合。
4、权利要求1中的系统，其中第一设备有显示器并通过显示所选设备的标识指示选择了哪个不同设备。
5、权利要求1中的系统，其中响应控制键按下，发射器被编程发射设备标识码和控制码。
6、权利要求1中的系统，其中第一设备通过合成语音响应指示非第一设备的所选设备的标识。
7、一种装置，包括
(a)能够有选择地控制多于一个可遥控设备的通用遥控发射器，带在某个时刻选择一个设备进行控制的装置，及
(b)第一可遥控设备，适于当某个时刻所述第一设备未被选择，从所述发射器接收到信号时产生显示信息或合成语音信息，指示所选设备不是所述第一设备。
8、权利要求7中的装置，其中所述第一可遥控设备适于识别源自所述发射器的与不同设备有关的控制信号，并且处理该信号产生所述显示或语音信息。
9、权利要求7中的装置，其中所述第一可遥控设备适于识别与对不同设备的控制码一起发射的所选设备标识信号，并且处理该信号产生所述显示或语音信息。
10、权利要求7中的装置，其中所述URC是语音激活的。
11、一种指示通用遥控器工作模式的方法，包括以下步骤：
(a)在第一设备中接收来自通用遥控器的信号，所述信号包括设备标识码和控制码；
(b)决定所述设备标识码是否符合所述第一设备；并且
(c)向用户指示所述通用遥控器没有被设定控制所述第一设备。
