Description
发明的领域
概括而言,本发明涉及到催化剂复合物、催化剂复合物的制备和使用方法以及脱苄基的方法。本发明尤其涉及与羟基及氨基官能团的脱保护有关的催化剂材料和方法。
发明的背景
催化方法在化学工业中是必不可少的。催化方法常常使用结合在载体上的催化剂。催化剂的有效使用通常是和催化剂载体的品质相关联的。品质差的催化剂载体,由于结构差、物理退化、化学退化、不希望的特性和不一致的特性中的至少一者,限制了结合于其中的催化剂的有效性。诸如高温、高压和高或低pH值环境的条件都会对催化剂载体的完整性构成挑战。
在合成有机化学、特别是制药工业中将钯催化剂用于脱苄基。可购得的钯脱苄基催化剂是在表面积低于1,000m2/g、其中约50%表面积位于微孔(20以下)中的碳载体上制得的。这样的碳载体也具有20%或更大的微孔容积与总孔容积的比率。
在催化方法中,为试图克服常规碳负载催化剂的缺点而使用了非碳催化剂载体。非碳载体包括氧化铝载体、二氧化硅载体、氧化铝-硅石载体、多种粘土载体、氧化钛载体和锆载体。尽管如此,非碳催化剂载体至少有两个缺点之一,即其可能失去物理强度和在腐蚀性环境(如酸性溶液)中会被溶解。
脱苄基包括将苄基与官能团分开。脱苄基的一个吸引人的用途是在有机合成过程中将苄基保护基团与氨基或羟基官能团分开。例如,在合成多官能有机化合物过程中,活性位点必须临时被封闭直到化合物完成。否则,活性位点(如氨基或羟基官能团)会不希望地参与被设计为产生感兴趣的化合物的反应中来。因此,苄基常常被用来作为保护基团以防止不希望的反应。
给定保护基团的有效性和可用性部分是由其可被接上并随后被从被合成的有机化合物中脱去的容易程度来决定的。使用常规钯脱苄基催化剂,使用苄基保护基团有时很难达到清晰的脱保护终点。结果,合成有机化学家有时就选用非催化技术来进行脱保护。
给定保护基团的有效性和可用性也部分由与脱保护有关的选择性(从感兴趣的化合物中脱去保护基团)决定。选择性有两个值得注意的方面。
首先,在某些情况下,同一保护基团可被用来保护两种或更多种不同的官能团。由此,选择性是指从一种官能团脱去保护基团而不从另一不同的官能团脱去保护基团的能力。例如,在有机合成中,可能希望从氨基官能团断开第一个苄基保护基团而不同时从位于感兴趣的化合物上不同位置的羟基官能团处断开第二个苄基保护基团。
第二,选择性可以指从官能团脱去保护基团而没有引起任何不希望的副反应。就此而论,使用钯脱苄基催化剂的脱保护包括苄基保护基团的氢解。但是,氢解将可能将存在于感兴趣的有机化合物中的许多官能团氢化。如C=C、C≡C、C≡N、-RNO2-,-芳基-卤素及相似物的基团可使用钯催化剂在相对温和的条件下被氢化。
最后,给定保护基团的有效性和可用性部分由成本考虑决定。胺基团的脱保护通常需要相对大量的钯催化剂。这与钯金属的高成本联系在一起,有时对钯催化剂的使用不利。
发明的概述
本发明提供了用于改善脱苄基反应的催化剂复合物和方法。本发明的催化剂载体具有某一促进催化剂活性和/或选择性改善的总孔容积/微孔容积和/或总孔表面积/微孔表面积和/或低含磷量。本发明的催化剂复合物倾向于对从一种官能团而不是另一种与相同保护基团相连接的官能团选择脱去保护基团而显示出改善的选择性。本发明的催化剂复合物可通过使副反应最小化(例如减少在脱苄基过程中的不饱和碳-碳键等的氢化)而显示出改良的选择性。

发明的详述
在一个实施方案中,本发明涉及含贵金属催化剂和碳载体的催化剂复合物的制备。根据本发明的复合物通过将含碳质的碳载体和贵金属化合物混合制备,其中碳载体具有某一孔表面积和/或微孔容积和/或低含磷量。由此,在另一个实施方案中,本发明涉及包含碳载体和贵金属催化剂的催化剂复合物的制备。在另外一个实施方案中,本发明涉及催化剂复合物在催化氢解过程(如在苄基保护基团的脱苄基)中的使用。
碳载体包含碳质材料和任选的一种或多种添加剂。碳质材料可从任何适合的碳源获得或衍生得到。最初使用的碳质材料是活性炭,或可以在形成碳载体的过程中的某一时间转化成活性炭的非活性炭。例如,木炭(非活性碳质材料)在热处理步骤的过程中可以被转化成活性炭(随后描述)。碳质材料包括从煤、褐煤、木材、坚果壳、泥煤、沥青、焦炭和类似物衍生而得的活性炭;和可由焦炭粉末(例如木炭)而得的非活性炭。
和任何任选的添加剂组合的碳质材料典型地为粉末状。在一个实施方案中,碳质材料的颗粒度(平均颗粒度)小于约100微米。在另一个实施方案中,碳质材料的颗粒度小于约80微米。在再另一个实施方案中,碳质材料的颗粒度小于约50微米。在又再另一个实施方案中,碳质材料的颗粒度小于约35微米。

碳质材料可被化学或非化学活化。化学活化剂包括一种或多种碱金属氢氧化物、碱金属碳酸盐、碱金属硫化物、碱金属硫酸盐、碱土金属碳酸盐、碱土金属氯化物、碱土金属硫酸盐、碱土金属磷酸盐、磷酸、多磷酸、焦磷酸、锌、氯化物、硫酸及类似物。化学活化是通过将一种或多种碳质材料和一种或多种化学活化剂接触、混合、对经化学活化的材料任选地加热、任选地洗涤/漂洗和任选地干燥来实施的。
在一个实施方案中,碳载体包含约50重量%或更多且为约100重量%或更少的至少一种碳质材料。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体包含约60重量%或更多且约99.9重量%或更少的至少一种碳质材料。
碳载体含有相对少量的磷。如果必要,可对碳载体进行后处理以降低磷含量。在一个实施方案中,碳载体含有约0.75重量%或更少的磷,但至少含有一些可检测量的磷。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体含有约0.5重量%或更少的磷,但至少含有一些可检测量的磷。在再另一个实施方案中,碳载体含有约0.4重量%或更少的磷,但至少含有一些可检测量的磷。
碳载体可通过将碳质材料和任何任选的添加剂混合、将混合物成型为成型材料、任选地干燥成型材料、将成型材料粉碎以提供碳载体或对成型材料粉碎进行热处理然后将其粉碎以提供碳载体而制成。当将碳质材料和任何任选的添加剂混合时,优选加入水(和/或其他液体溶剂)。可使用自来水或去离子水,但优选去离子水。加入水以促进混合和随后的成型(例如挤出),因此可加入任意的适合促进混合和随后的成型的量。因为水最终在随后的干燥和热处理步骤中被除去,添加的水的量对于本发明并非关键。
尽管如此,在一个实施方案中,任选的添加剂和碳质材料的混合物典型地含有从约5重量%到约80重量%的水。在另一个实施方案中,任选的添加剂和碳质材料的混合物含有从约10%到约70%的水。在另一个实施方案中,任选的添加剂和碳质材料的混合物含有从约20重量%到约60重量%的水。
添加剂包括能促进混合和随后的成型的任何材料。添加剂包括流变控制剂、助挤剂、悬浮剂、表面活性剂、低沸点有机化合物、松香材料、聚合物添加剂和分散剂(如木素磺化铵)。流变控制剂(包括纤维素醚、聚乙烯醇和聚环氧烷。纤维素醚的例子包括羧甲基纤维素(carboxymethylcellulose,CMC)钠、羟乙基纤维素(hydroxyethylcellulose,HEC)、甲基纤维素(methylcellulose,MC)及其衍生物。一种可购得的纤维素醚是Methocel。含有水和羟丙基甲基纤维素醚聚合物的Methocel具有高热凝胶点,例如被称为K4M和K15M的可从Dow Chemical Company获得的产品。优选的聚环氧烷包括聚环氧乙烷。助挤剂包括二元醇化合物,如聚亚烷基二醇。在一个具体实施方案中,聚乙二醇(如可从Union Carbide获得的PEG400)可被作为助挤剂加入。通常将二元醇化合物溶解于水中并随后被加入干燥的成分中去。
在一个实施方案中,碳载体典型地含有从约0.01重量%到约10重量%的至少一种添加剂。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体含有从约0.1重量%到约5重量%的至少一种添加剂。
碳质粉末和任选的成分的混合物可与水及流变控制剂(如Methocel)在高剪切混合器中充分混合,直到获得相当硬的面团状物。该面团状物可以被挤出或通过适合的机械方法成型为任何适合的形状(包括圆柱形、立方形、星形、三叶形、四叶形、丸形、球形)。在一个优选方案中,混合是在一个高强度环境中实施的,如Littleford混合器(可由美国肯塔基Florence的Littleford Day Inc.获得)所提供的环境。混合进行足够的时间以获得很好的均匀混合。在一个实施方案中,在混合过程中将去离子水以适当的量加入混合物中以获得适合挤出的硬的面团状物质。
在一个实施方案中,碳质材料和任选的添加剂的混合物在高强度混合器中混合约5分钟到约100分钟。在另一个实施方案中,碳质材料和任选的添加剂的混合物在高强度混合器中混合约10分钟到约60分钟。
混合后,混合材料被成型为合适的形状,然后被粉碎。挤出机的例子包括挤出成型机、单螺杆挤出机、双螺杆挤出机、共挤出机、针式挤出机(pin extruder)、线性挤出机和单丝挤出机。
挤出材料中的组分(碳质材料和任何任选的添加剂)混合均匀。任选的添加剂和碳质材料在随后得到的催化剂载体中的均匀混合对得到的挤出催化剂载体和得到的含催化剂载体的催化剂复合物的优利的特性作出了贡献。
材料成型后,在粉碎之前或之后,可任选地对成型材料进行干燥以除去任何残留的液体(并且典型地是为了除去残留的水)。干燥是在至少一个干燥器中、在真空(降低了的压力)下和/或在升高了的温度下(烘烤)足够的时间以从成型材料中除去任何残留的液体。成型材料的干燥对所得到的碳载体的耐磨损特性作出了贡献。
干燥碳材料的方式并非关键,但在很多情况下干燥条件主要取决于碳材料的尺寸和碳材料的形状中的至少一者。在一个实施方案中,干燥碳材料含少于约3重量%的自由水分。在另一个实施方案中,干燥碳材料含有少于约1重量%的自由水分。在再另一个实施方案中,干燥碳材料含有少于约0.5重量%的自由水分。
在一个实施方案中,干燥操作包括将升高了的温度(高于约35℃)维持过夜、干燥过夜和置于真空中过夜中至少一者。当使用升高了的温度时,在一个实施方案中,将碳材料从约35℃加热到约150℃约5秒到约6小时。在另一个实施方案中,将碳材料从约40℃加热到110℃约30秒到约30分钟。
干燥后,对碳材料任选进行热处理。但是,在一个实施方案中,通过从相对低的温度(相对于热处理的温度而言的低温)开始热处理,干燥步骤可被合并到热处理步骤中来。以任何适合的方式对干燥材料进行热处理以提供催化剂载体和提供含具有对应于活性炭的特性的碳质材料的催化剂载体(特别是在使用非活性碳质材料的实施方案中)。
在一个实施方案中,热处理包括将碳材料在从约600℃到约1500℃的温度下加热。在另一个实施方案中,热处理包括将碳材料在从约700℃到约1000℃的温度下加热。应指出温度是可以在一个温度范围里变化的。例如,在热处理过程中,温度可线性或始终上升。
碳材料被任选地加热的时间的长短主要取决于温度、空气含量、相关设备和组分的种类(碳质材料和任选的添加剂的具体类型)。在一个实施方案中,热处理包括将碳材料加热约15分钟到约5小时。在另一个实施方案中,热处理包括将碳材料加热约30分钟到约4小时。加热时间是指碳材料本身处于指定温度的时间(因此不包括温度线性上升或冷却的时间)。
在一个实施方案中,在其中实施任选的热处理的气氛至少含有蒸汽或水蒸气。气氛还可含有惰性气体、空气、氧和二氧化碳中的至少一者。惰性气体包括稀有气体和氮。稀有气体包括氦、氖、氩、氪和氙。在另一个实施方案中,在其中实施热处理的气氛至少含有蒸汽/水蒸气和惰性气体中的至少一者。就此而论,在一个实施方案中,热处理气氛含有基本惰性的气氛,如从约50%到约100%的至少一种惰性气体和从约0%到少于约50%的蒸汽、空气、氧和二氧化碳中的一者或多者。
得到的本发明的碳载体拥有高硬度,因此倾向于耐折断、破碎、破裂和其他物理破坏。得到的碳载体是具有尺寸和形状均匀的特点的颗粒。与得到的本发明的碳载体相联系的另外一个优点是孔隙率的水平和/或表面积的范围是可控制的,这种控制主要是通过改变热处理参数和改变组分(碳质材料和任选的添加剂)的相对量实现的。孔隙率和/或表面积也可以通过添加剂(如流变控制剂或助挤剂)的量和类型来控制或进一步控制。和常规碳催化剂载体相比,得到的本发明的碳载体也可能含相对少量的磷。
通常,本发明的碳载体的总孔表面积是和任选添加剂及碳质材料的总表面孔面积的加权平均值相对应的。在一个实施方案中,碳载体的总孔表面积为约800m2/g或更大并且为约2,000m2/g或更小。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体的总孔表面积为约1,000m2/g或更大并且为约1,900m2/g或更小。

在一个实施方案中,本发明的碳载体的总孔容积至少为约0.75cc/g。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体的总孔容积至少为约1cc/g。在再另一个实施方案中,碳载体的总孔容积至少为约1.1cc/g。
在一个实施方案中,本发明的碳载体的微孔容积为约0.1cc/g或更小。微孔容积是直径为20或更小的孔中的孔容积。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体的微孔容积为约0.075cc/g或更小。在再另一个实施方案中,碳载体的微孔容积为约0.05cc/g或更小。在又再另一个实施方案中,碳载体的微孔容积为约0.03cc/g或更小。
在本发明的碳载体中,在一个实施方案中,总孔容积中微孔容积的百分率为约15%或更小。在常规的碳载体中,典型地约25%的总孔容积为微孔容积。在另一个实施方案中,总孔容积中微孔容积的百分率为约10%或更小。在再另一个实施方案中,总孔容积中微孔容积的百分率为约5%或更小。
可通过氮吸附测试(如可使用通过引用并入此处的、ASTM D 4641-88中题为“由氮吸附等温线计算催化剂孔尺寸分布的标准方法”中概述的分析方法)来确定孔容积。
在一个实施方案中,本发明包括通过用至少一种具有催化活性的金属的溶液浸渍碳载体而形成催化剂复合物。浸渍的实现是通过以足够量、用所希望的金属或金属组合的水溶液或有机溶液对碳载体进行处理、从而在载体表面上或在接近表面处沉积至少一种催化活性金属、从而提供催化剂复合物而进行的。碳载体/碳质材料可以是被成型、挤出或粉末化的;经加工的或未经加工的。
典型地,催化活性金属包括贵金属。催化活性金属和金属混合物的例子包括钯、氢氧化钯、钯和铼、钯和铑、钯和钨、钯和镍、钯和锡、钯和铜、钯和钌、钯和铅、钯和锗、钯和铂、铂、铂和铼、铂和钌、铂和钨、铂和镍、铂和锡、铂和铁、铂和铜、铂和铑、铂和铅、铂和锗、钴、铑、镍、钌、锇、铱、其各种组合,等等。钯和铂催化剂包括钯和约10重量%或更少的作为助催化剂的铂以及铂和约10重量%或更少作为助催化剂的钯。应该理解,前述催化活性金属的清单仅仅是代表性的,并因此不对可被浸渍到碳载体表面上的金属的类型构成限制。
催化剂可以以任何适合的方式被浸渍到碳载体上/中。例如,可使用浸泡方法、喷雾方法和初始湿润(incipient wetness)方法。通常,形成含碳载体和金属催化剂(或含某种形式的金属催化剂的化合物,如金属盐)的料浆,碳载体和金属催化剂相互接触,料浆被过滤以提供催化剂复合物。碳载体和金属催化剂在为约2℃或更高且为约100℃或更低的温度下相互接触。在另一个实施方案中,碳载体和金属催化剂在为约5℃或更高且为约70℃或更低的温度下相互接触。在过滤前可以将料浆加热。在一个实施方案中,料浆被加热到为约40℃或更高且为约100℃或更低。在另一个实施方案中,料浆被加热到为约50℃或更高且为约90℃或更低。
在一个实施方案中,催化剂复合物中的催化剂的含量为从约0.1重量%到约30重量%。在另一个实施方案中,催化剂复合物中的催化剂的含量为从约0.25重量%到约20重量%。在再另一个实施方案中,催化剂复合物中的催化剂的含量为从约0.5重量%到约10重量%。在一个实施方案中,催化剂复合物中的碳载体的含量为从约70重量%到约99.9重量%。在另一个实施方案中,催化剂复合物中的碳载体的含量为从约80重量%到约99.75重量%。在再另一个实施方案中,催化剂复合物中的碳载体的含量为从约90重量%到约99.5重量%。
本发明的催化剂复合物适合用于催化方法。可以使用本发明催化剂复合物的催化方法包括氢化、氢解、重排、脱卤、异构化、Rosemund反应、氢转移反应、高压反应、脱保护和脱苄基(如O-脱苄基和N-脱苄基)。氢解作用可被用于苄醇、二苄醚、苄基缩醛、环缩醛(benzyl acetal cyclicacetal)和N-脱苄基。

本发明的催化剂复合物适合用在选择性脱苄基,如对被保护的官能氮原子脱苄基而不对同一分子上的被保护的官能氧原子脱苄基。由于选择性能够被提高,使用本发明的催化剂复合物可以改善选择性脱苄基。
被暂时连接到有机化合物中官能原子上的保护基团经常包括苄基和苄酯基。这些保护基团可通过催化脱苄基从有机化合物中除去或断开。有机化合物经常是药物化合物或其中间体、杀虫剂或其中间体、除草剂或其中间体、氨基酸或肽或其中间体、杂环化合物或其中间体、碳水化合物或其中间体、类固醇或其中间体以及类似物。典型地,药物化合物、杀虫剂、氨基酸或肽、杂环化合物和类固醇中的一种或多种的合成或处理需要使用保护基团。去保护反应的明显的终点导致获得改善了的药物化合物、杀虫剂、氨基酸或肽、杂环化合物和类固醇中的一种或多种的产率。
具体的催化反应/方法是引其数量太多而不胜列举,但是以下是一个具体的例子。催化脱苄基包括下面的总反应:
其中R是有机结构,F是官能原子或基团。官能原子包括氧(对应于羟基)、硫(对应于硫醇基)和氮(对应于氨基)。
一般而言,脱苄基在酸性条件下使用极性溶液、低压和相对高的温度进行。典型的脱苄基反应是在醇和/或酸性溶剂中、约为5℃到约100℃的温度和约1到约10个大气压的氢压力下进行的。
在一个实施方案中,本发明的催化剂复合物与含有相同量贵金属催化剂的常规催化剂复合物相比具有高出约25%或更快的反应速度。在另一个实施方案中,本发明的催化剂复合物与含有相同量贵金属催化剂的常规催化剂复合物相比具有高出约30%或更快的反应速度。
以下实施例显示了这一优点。以下实施例也阐明了本发明。在以下实施例以及说明书和权利要求书的其他部分中,除非另外指出,所有份数和百分比都基于重量的,所有温度都是摄氏度,压力是一个大气压或一个大气压左右。
实施例1
制备含3重量%的钯和97重量%的碳粉的催化剂复合物。将碳酸钠溶解在去离子水中,向其中加入47克碳粉,以形成料浆(其中碳粉的总表面积为1,600m2/g,微孔表面积为96m2/g,6%的总表面积归于微孔表面积,总孔容积为1.2cc/g,微孔容积为0.027cc/g,2.3%的总孔容积归于微孔容积)。将溶解的碳酸钠溶液加入氯化钠钯溶液(20%重量/重量钯)直到pH值约为8。7.47克的钯溶液被加入碳粉料浆中并混合。合并的溶液随后被过滤并洗涤。
实施例2
制备含5重量%的钯和95重量%的碳粉的催化剂复合物。将碳酸钠溶解在去离子水中,向其中加入47克碳粉,以形成料浆(其中碳粉的总表面积为1,600m2/g,微孔表面积为96m2/g,6%的总表面积归于微孔表面积,总孔容积为1.2cc/g,微孔容积为0.027cc/g,2.3%的总孔容积归于微孔容积)。将溶解的碳酸钠溶液加入氯化钠钯溶液(20%重量/重量钯)直到pH值约为8。12.45克的钯溶液被加入碳粉料浆中并混合。合并的溶液随后被过滤和洗涤。
实施例3
制备含3重量%的钯、0.3重量%的铂和96.7重量%的碳粉的催化剂复合物。48.44克的碳粉被加入到去离子水中以形成料浆(其中碳粉的总表面积为1,600m2/g,微孔表面积为96m2/g,6%的总表面积归于微孔表面积,总孔容积为1.2cc/g,微孔容积为0.027cc/g,2.3%的总孔容积归于微孔容积),用10%的碳酸钠溶液将pH值调整到约8。将3.9克3.99%的氯化钠铂溶液和7.74克20%氯化钠钯溶液混合,用10%的碳酸钠溶液将pH值调整到约4。将钯-铂溶液加入到碳粉料浆中并混合,用10%的氢氧化钠溶液将pH值调整到约9。合并的溶液随后被过滤和洗涤。
对比例1
制备含5重量%的钯和95重量%的碳粉的催化剂复合物。将碳酸钠溶解在去离子水中,向其中加入47克碳粉,以形成料浆(其中碳粉的总表面积为896m2/g,微孔表面积为459m2/g,51.2%的总表面积归于微孔表面积,总孔容积为0.75cc/g,微孔容积为0.217cc/g,28.9%的总孔容积归于微孔容积)。将溶解的碳酸钠溶液加入氯化钠钯溶液(20%重量/重量钯)直到pH值约为8。将12.45克的钯溶液加入碳粉料浆中并混合。合并的溶液随后被过滤和洗涤。
实施例1到3和对比例1的催化剂复合物被用来催化下以下反应。该反应涉及对苯二酚单苄基醚的脱苄基。

=60/(T0.5-T0.25)/(0.1*%催化剂装载量)/(催化剂中%Pd*22.414)*100其中T0.5是吸收0.5升氢的时间,T0.25是吸收0.25升氢的时间(假设为零级反应)。
尽管发明是结合某些实施方案被解释了的,应当理解,阅读说明书时,多种变型对本领域的技术人员将变得显而易见。所以,应当理解,由于此类变形处在所附权利要求书的范围之中,此处公开的发明是旨在覆盖此类变型的。
Claims (30)
1、一种催化剂复合物,其中包含:
含碳质材料的碳载体,其中碳载体的总孔表面积为约800m2/g或更大且为约2,000m2/g或更小,并且总孔表面积的约20%或更小为微孔表面积;以及
贵金属催化剂。
2、根据权利要求1的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体的微孔表面积为约200m2/g或更小。
3、根据权利要求1的催化剂复合物,其中催化剂复合物包含约从70重量%到约99.9重量%的碳载体和从约0.1重量%到约30重量%的贵金属催化剂。
4、根据权利要求1的催化剂复合物,其中贵金属催化剂包含至少一种选自以下的物质:钯、氢氧化钯、钯和铼、钯和铑、钯和钨、钯和镍、钯和锡、钯和铜、钯和钌、钯和铅、钯和锗、钯和铂、铂、铂和铼、铂和钌、铂和钨、铂和镍、铂和锡、铂和铁、铂和铜、铂和铑、铂和铅、铂和锗、钴、铑、镍、钌、锇和铱。
5、根据权利要求1的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体的总孔容积为至少约0.75cc/g,并且约为15%或更少的总孔容积为微孔容积。
6、根据权利要求1的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体包含约0.75重量%或更少的磷。
7、一种催化剂复合物,其中包含:
包含碳质材料的碳载体,其中碳载体的总孔容积为至少约0.75cc/g,并且总孔容积的约15%或更少为微孔容积;以及
贵金属催化剂。
8、根据权利要求7的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体的微孔容积为约0.1cc/g或更小。
9、根据权利要求7的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体的总孔表面积为约800m2/g或更大且为约2,000m2/g或更小,并且总孔表面积的约20%或更小为微孔表面积。
10、根据权利要求7的催化剂复合物,其中催化剂复合物含从约70重量%到约99.9重量%的碳载体和从约0.1重量%到约30重量%的贵金属催化剂。
11、根据权利要求7的催化剂复合物,其中贵金属催化剂包含至少一种选自以下的物质:钯、氢氧化钯、钯和铼、钯和铑、钯和钨、钯和镍、钯和锡、钯和铜、钯和钌、钯和铅、钯和锗、钯和铂、铂、铂和铼、铂和钌、铂和钨、铂和镍、铂和锡、铂和铁、铂和铜、铂和铑、铂和铅、铂和锗、钴、铑、镍、钌、锇和铱。
12、根据权利要求7的催化剂复合物,其中约10%或更少的总孔容积为微孔容积。
13、根据权利要求7的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体包含约0.75重量%或更少的磷。
14、一种催化剂复合物,其中包含:
包含为约60重量%或更多且为约99.9重量%或更少的碳质材料和为约0.75重量%或更少的磷的碳载体;以及
贵金属催化剂。
15、根据权利要求14的催化剂复合物,其中催化剂复合物含约0.5重量%或更少的磷。
16、根据权利要求14的催化剂复合物,其中催化剂复合物包含从约70重量%到约99.9重量%的碳载体和从约0.1重量%到约30重量%的贵金属催化剂。
17、根据权利要求14的催化剂复合物,其中贵金属催化剂包含至少一种选自以下的物质:钯、氢氧化钯、钯和铼、钯和铑、钯和钨、钯和镍、钯和锡、钯和铜、钯和钌、钯和铅、钯和锗、钯和铂、铂、铂和铼、铂和钌、铂和钨、铂和镍、铂和锡、铂和铁、铂和铜、铂和铑、铂和铅、铂和锗、钴、铑、镍、钌、锇和铱。
18、根据权利要求14的催化剂复合物,其中碳载体的微孔表面积为约200m2/g或更小并且微孔容积为约0.1cc/g或更小。
19、一种制备催化剂复合物的方法,包括:
提供含碳质材料的碳载体,碳载体至少满足以下一者:
总孔容积至少为约0.75cc/g,其中总孔容积的约15%或更少为微孔容积,
总孔表面积为约800m2/g或更大且为约2,000m2/g或更小,

20、根据权利要求19的方法,其中碳载体的微孔表面积为约200m2/g或更小且微孔容积为约0.1cc/g或更小。
21、根据权利要求19的方法,其中贵金属催化剂和碳载体在为约5℃或更高且为约100℃或更低的温度下在溶液中相接触。
22、根据权利要求19的方法,其中催化剂复合物含从约70重量%到约99.9重量%的碳载体和从约0.1重量%到约30重量%的贵金属催化剂。
23、根据权利要求19的方法,其中贵金属催化剂包含至少一种选自以下的物质:钯、氢氧化钯、钯和铼、钯和铑、钯和钨、钯和镍、钯和锡、钯和铜、钯和钌、钯和铅、钯和锗、钯和铂、铂、铂和铼、铂和钌、铂和钨、铂和镍、铂和锡、铂和铁、铂和铜、铂和铑、铂和铅、铂和锗、钴、铑、镍、钌、锇和铱。
24、具有被保护官能团的有机化合物的催化脱保护方法,其中包括:
将被保护的有机化合物与氢和包含贵金属催化剂和含碳质材料的碳载体的催化剂复合物接触,碳载体至少满足以下一者
总孔容积至少为约0.75cc/g,其中总孔容积的约15%或更少为微孔容积,
总孔表面积为约800m2/g或更大且为约2,000m2/g或更小,
其中总孔表面积的约20%或更小为微孔表面积,
磷含量为约0.75重量%或更小;
和
回收具有未被保护官能团的有机化合物。
25、根据权利要求24的方法,其中在约2℃到约100℃的温度和约1到约10个大气压的氢压力下将被保护的有机化合物与氢和催化剂复合物在含醇的液体中接触。
26、根据权利要求24的方法,其中未被保护的官能团为羟基和氨基之一。
27、根据权利要求24的方法,其中具有至少一种未被保护的官能团的有机化合物为选自以下的一者或多者:药物化合物、杀虫剂、除草剂、氨基酸、肽、杂环化合物、碳水化合物和类固醇。
28、根据权利要求24的方法,其中碳载体的微孔表面积为约150m2/g或更小并且微孔容积约为0.075cc/g或更小。
30、根据权利要求27的方法,其中具有被保护官能团的有机化合物包含选自苄基和苄酯基的保护基团。
31、根据权利要求27的方法,其中具有被保护官能团的有机化合物包含两种被保护官能团,第一种官能团为羟基,第二种官能团为氨基。
