本发明提供了一种由缠绕在轮子或类似的收集器上的细长管状结构制造蜂窝状结构的方法。在材料置于轮子上之前,向细长管状材料的外表面涂抹至少一行纵向的缓慢固化粘合剂。绕着收集器卷绕细长管状结构,卷绕的方式为使粘合剂位于细长管状材料的覆盖表面之间并且在收集器上形成多孔结构。在粘合剂完全固化之前,在已经绕着收集器卷绕的细长管状结构上进行至少一次横向切割。在粘合剂完全固化之前,从收集器上移去蜂窝状结构并且将它置于平面上。当蜂窝状结构置于平面上时,粘合剂完全固化。如果进行单次切割从轮子上移去多孔结构,结构的宽度就会与轮子的周长相对应。因为当堆叠在平面上时粘合剂会发生固化,所以堆叠中的任何初始曲率都会减小,原因是重力的作用会使堆叠展平。应该发生足够的展平,这样,堆叠中材料的曲率才不会显眼。
本发明优选使用轮子或类似的收集器,其中曲面具有至少为16.5英尺或5米的半径。得到的多孔结构约为100英尺宽,这样,就可以沿着堆叠上选取的任何线切割成多段,段的长度与要生产的多孔形状的宽度相等。收集器上卷绕的数目决定每段的长度。
轮子并不需要一定是标准的圆形。实际上,在本发明的优选实施例中,使用了具有通过弯角连接起来的四个平直侧面的轮子,角的半径为1英尺或0.34米。
阅读在附图中所示的本发明的某些优选实施例的说明之后,本发明的其它目的和优点将会变得更加显而易见。

具体实施方式
过程的开始是供给可以缠绕在收集器上的细长多孔结构。这种多孔结构可以通过任意方式形成。例如Colson所公开的那样,管状结构可以由带子制成,带子在即将卷绕到收集器上之前折叠成管状。管状材料通过挤压而形成,而不是由带子制成的。可以使用单独制成的管状材料卷。
参见图1,提供或者形成管状材料1的供给。管状材料经过一个或多个胶粘头,胶粘头在管状材料的外表面涂上至少一行粘合剂,如方框2所示。粘合剂具有一定粘性,但并没有完全固化。然后材料缠绕在收集器上形成多孔结构,如方框3所示。在期望数量的材料已经卷绕到收集器上之后就停下来,并且对多孔结构进行至少一次横向切割,如方框4所示。这个步骤在粘合剂完全固化之前进行。在下一个步骤5中,多孔结构置于平面上并且粘合剂完全固化。因为在多孔结构置于平面上时粘合剂还没有完全固化,所以没有设置在缠绕步骤中对单元施加的任何弯曲。因此,当多孔结构置于平面上时,单元几乎失去所有的弯曲。由于这个原因,所以在最终的多孔结构中,单元看上去没有曲率。在粘合剂完全固化之后,多孔结构被切割成具有期望宽度的多个片段,以便制成多孔的形状。虽然在图1中切割步骤6显示为发生在多孔结构已经从收集器上切割出之后,但是这些最终的切割可以作为从收集器上移走结构这个过程的一部分。
轮子上形成的多孔结构可以是单个单元或多个单元结构。另外,可以沿着与堆叠的前部和后部平行的一个或多个平面切割多孔结构。可以由单个单元结构形成两个折叠板。如果初始的堆叠是双单元或三单元结构,那么,平面切割可以产生板、单个单元或双单元结构。
可以使用如图2所示的机器通过全自动过程生产这里公开的多孔结构。在这台机器中,管状材料的供给配设在一个或多个辊子8上,该辊子的直径通常约为4英尺或1.2米。管状材料从供给辊子8导向制造机器10。在材料进入机器10时,它经过从辊子8上拉动材料的驱动机构12。然后材料被导向储存器20。储存器具有两个固定的轮子或辊子21和23以及一个可移动轮子或辊子22。轮子22连接到臂24的端部。臂可枢转地连接到框架上。液压缸26配设成可以使连同轮子22的臂24的端部上下移动。这样,在轮子21和23之间,由链状线30表示的管状材料的路径长度就可以延长或者缩短。在材料缠绕到轮子28上之前,胶粘系统29将胶水滴涂到管状材料上。因为缠绕到轮子上的材料上存在至少一滴胶水滴,所以当材料卷绕到轮子上形成多孔结构时,重叠的表面在粘合线处粘结在一起。可以定位一滴或多滴胶水滴来产生对称或不对称的单元。例如,单元可以形成D形,并且单元的前壁大于后壁。当已经绕着轮子卷绕了期望的数量的材料时,机器就停下来。然后切割堆叠从轮子上移去多孔结构。工作台9位于轮子28附近用来提供一个平面,至少一部分多孔结构在从轮子上切下之后可以置于该平面上。工作台可以设计成在已经从轮子上切割出结构之后,并且在轮子已经停止接收多孔结构之后移到轮子下方。
根据置于轮子上的材料的数量,以及轮子转动的速度,从管状材料接收胶水滴直到堆叠置于工作台上,经过的时间可以是二十分钟至大于一个小时。当管状材料卷绕到轮子上时,本发明的过程中使用的粘合剂保持最初的设置。然而,不到堆叠置于工作台上之后,不会进行最终的设置。当堆叠最初置于工作台上时,粘合剂可以缓慢移动,从而允许堆叠中的单元展平。如果需要的话,可以在堆叠的顶部上放置重物,促使或者加速粘合剂的蠕动和单元的展平。在粘合剂完全固化之后,堆叠被切割成具有选定尺寸的板,并且每个板连接至头部导轨并且通常也连接至底部导轨。然后提供提升缆绳来完成预定形状。这个工作可以在工作台9上进行。
优选轮子的直径至少为33英尺或大约10米。如果使用单次切割从轮子上切割的话,直径为33英尺或10米的轮子将产生长度接近104英尺或大约10米的多孔结构。因此,操作者希望在多孔结构在轮子上时使用两次或者更多次切割,以便产生易于处理的更短的长度。对于一些材料可以使用直径再稍微减小一些的轮子。然而,当它们在轮子上形成时,直径小于15英尺或4.5米的轮子易于在单元上形成这种曲率,从而当织物置于平面上时会产生折叠而不是现出完全笔直的形状。如果需要的话,轮子可以在管状材料进行卷绕的圆周上具有平面。这种轮子可以是椭圆的而不是圆形的。然而,这种轮子的大直径与小直径的比应该不大于二。本发明优选的轮子具有四个平面,如图3中的机器40所示。
参见图3,机器40具有第一部分41,其中织物辊子7和8形成管状结构,机器还具有第二部分42,其中管状结构缠绕到收集器上。当织物带进入拉动传送带69时,它们被转动并且折叠成V形。它们在形成管的缆股形成组件66下方经过,然后行进到第二拉动传送带69a上。管状结构绕着轮子91、92和93遵循如点线所示的路径70到达支撑在滑动臂45上的涂抹轮子组件,其中滑动臂45在轨道96上运行。涂抹轮子组件具有胶水涂抹器98,涂抹器98向管状结构涂敷胶水然后将管状结构导向到收集器轮子44上。收集器轮子44具有通过弯角连接起来的四个扁平侧面。
管状结构通过连接至滑动组件45的涂抹轮子43施加到收集器上。这个臂可以朝向收集器和远离收集器移动,以便适应转动轮子发生变化的直径。弹簧(未显示)将涂抹轮子43保持在收集器轮子44上。管状结构始终与收集器轮子以90度的角度相交。因此,由涂抹轮子43施加的将管状结构挤压到在收集器上的材料上的压力在收集器的所有转动期间大体上不变。因此,邻近结构之间的胶水滴在宽度上应该是均匀的。在收集器轮子上配设了轨道144。连接至滑块45的销(未显示)骑在轨道中,使滑块45和涂抹轮子43与收集器轮子44对齐。臂46可以移动轮子91。轮子92在轨道95中可动从而提供储存器或浮动器。浮动器使网板在通过机器的第一部分41时的速度保持恒定。本发明还提供了变速电动机来转动收集器轮子。传感器可以监视收集器轮子44的位置和管状材料移动经过机器的速度。然后这些传感器中的信息由控制器进行处理,该控制器向电动机传送信号来改变速度。本发明优选提供主传动,而不是依赖传感器。主传动连接至在管形成步骤中驱动网板的拉动传送带96和96a中的电动机,并且连接至驱动轮子收集器44的电动机。该连接可以是机械连接但优选是电连接。因此,可以通过改变主传动的速度来提高或减小机器的速度。转动收集器轮子的电动机由包含软件的控制器来控制,该软件改变收集器轮子的旋转速度从而适应轮子直径发生的变化。机器可以在腹板和管状结构以200至500英尺每分钟的速度行进的速度下运转。
收集器轮子44的轮缘145不是平面的而是沿着纵向和横向都呈弯曲状。纵向曲率优选为每104英寸改变1英寸。在收集器的一个优选实施例中轮缘的平直部分是柔性的。为每个平面段提供了螺钉146,使段的中心能够上下移动。这样,就可以生成凹的或凸的曲率。因为收集器轮子上的堆叠在中间会比较厚,如果向管状结构涂抹单行胶水线的话,横向的曲率可以是凹的。如果向管状材料涂抹多行胶水线的话,那么堆叠的中心就会有较少的材料。在这种状态下,在轮缘上设置凸的横向曲率。另一种选择是在模拟曲面的轮缘上提供多个销。
目前可用的有慢固化粘合剂,这种粘合剂在涂抹时具有粘性但是在长达几个小时的时间内都不会硬化。粘合剂的选取要根据形成管状材料的织物而定。由Forbo制造的芳香族聚氨酯湿固化粘合剂可以用于非纺织织物。这是一种聚氨酯粘合剂,在最初的十分钟内完全硬化至它的强度的约70%,但是在两到四个小时内都不会彻底固化。这种方法中使用的粘合剂的固化时间必须足够长,从而使多孔结构在粘合剂完全固化之前能够从轮子上移走并且置于平面上。对于任何商业操作,固化时间必须是至少一小时,优选至少为两至四个小时。时间可以更长,但是通常短于一天。虽然本发明优选使用聚氨酯粘合剂,但是固化较慢的聚酯粘合剂也可以使用。不希望使用必须经过烘热固化的粘合剂,因为这还需要附加的处理。
虽然已经显示并且描述了本发明的特定优选实施例,但是应该清楚地理解,本发明并不限于此,它还可以包含在如下的权利要求的范围内。

Claims (14)

1.一种用于制造蜂窝状结构的方法,包括:
提供具有外表面的细长管状结构,
向细长管状材料的外表面涂抹至少一纵向行粘合剂,粘合剂是缓慢固化的粘合剂,在至少一个小时内不会完全固化,
绕着收集器卷绕细长管状结构,卷绕的方式为使粘合剂位于细长管状材料的覆盖表面之间并且在收集器上形成多孔结构,
对多孔结构进行至少一次横向切割,切割是在粘合剂完全固化之前进行的,
在粘合剂完全固化之前将多孔结构置于平面上,并且
当多孔结构置于平面上时,允许粘合剂完全固化。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,管状结构是从机织织物、非纺织织物、针织物和薄膜组成的组中选取的一种材料。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括将多孔结构的至少一部分连接至头部导轨。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括切割多孔结构形成多个宽度更小的多孔结构。
5.如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,当多孔结构在平面上时切割多孔结构。
6.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,粘合剂是固化时间至少为4小时的聚氨酯粘合剂。
7.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,粘合剂具有至少为4小时的固化时间。
8.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,收集器是在上面卷绕了细长管状结构的轮子。
9.用于形成多孔结构的设备,包括:
供给管状材料,
其上卷绕管状材料的轮子,
位于供给和从供给接收管状材料的轮子之间并且将管状材料导向轮子的驱动机构,
位于供给和轮子之间的胶水涂抹器,胶水涂抹器具有装有需要至少两小时进行缓慢固化的粘合剂的贮存器,胶水涂抹器设计成在管状材料缠绕在轮子上之前向管状材料涂抹缓慢固化粘合剂的至少一滴胶水滴,胶水涂抹器具有装有缓慢固化的粘合剂的贮存器,以及
位于轮子附近的平面,平面的大小设计成可以接收已经由绕着轮子卷绕的管状材料形成的多孔结构的至少一部分,然后切割多孔结构从而从轮子上移去多孔结构。
10.如权利要求9所述的设备,其特征在于,轮子具有至少为10米的直径。
11.如权利要求9所述的设备,其特征在于,轮子是椭圆的,具有大直径和小直径,大直径不大于小直径的两倍。
12.如权利要求9所述的设备还包括位于供给和胶水涂抹器之间的储存器,储存器包含管状材料在其上经过的多个轮子,轮子界定了管状材料经过储存器时所遵循的路径,储存器设计成使至少一个轮子可以相对于另一个轮子移动从而改变至少一段路径的长度。
13.如权利要求9所述的设备,其特征在于,轮子具有四个平面。
14.如权利要求9所述的设备,其特征在于,平面可以从轮子下方的位置移到远离轮子的位置处。
