Abstract

本发明涉及修改视频图像,具体来说,涉及改变实况视频上的人物特征。
背景技术
一段时间以来已存在修改例如人脸的图像的软件。美国专利第5,825,941号是这种软件的一实例,其允许医生在做提出的整形手术之前观看一下效果。其他软件允许用户(例如)通过改变脸部特征或将两张脸转变在一起来修改可保存和打印的静态图片。美国公开申请案第20050026685号允许一种系统来转变视频游戏特性。美国公开申请案第20050201666号展示利用用户语音或其他输入来修改虚拟特性。
许多应用是针对修改头像来和即时消息发送一起使用。这些应用允许用户个性化代表用户的头像图像。例如,美国公开申请案第20030043153号展示确定来自网络摄影视频内容的脸部表情,并将这些表情映射到头像上。动画向量被映射到目标混合向量上。每个变体目标可代表一脸部表情,例如中性的脸部表情、惊讶的脸部表情、生气的脸部表情和微笑的脸部表情。
发明内容
本发明提供一种用于修改或转变视频图像的方法。接收包括人脸图像的视频内容。从所述视频内容中检测许多脸部特征。这些特征中的一个或一个以上特征经过选择和修改,且所述修改被应用到视频内容来产生转变的图像。例如,所述转变可产生例如特大或特小的眼睛、嘴唇等的有趣效果。
在一个实施例中,用户可选择直接修改特定特征。例如,用户可加厚嘴唇、加宽嘴等。用户可接着单独对眼睛、鼻子、耳朵等作类似的修改。另外,用户可选择将帽子或其他饰品添加到脸上。
在另一实施例中,用户可从多个表情中进行选择。选定的表情可接着自动改变所需的特定特征来实现所述表情。例如,微笑的表情可使嘴唇和嘴在微笑表情中上翘,且另外可使笑纹或酒窝和眨眼出现在眼睛中。或者,例如更年轻的其他“表情”会使皮肤光滑来消除皱纹,修改脸部特征来产生更多限定的下巴、眼睛等。
在一个实施例中,来自网络摄影的视频内容(例如USB视频内容)是通过特征识别软件的摄影机驱动而提供的。所述软件接着提供将所识别特征的位置提供给单独的转变软件模块。所述转变软件模块接着响应用户输入来选择各种脸部特征并对其进行修改。这些修改接着被应用到视频内容,来产生实时略微延迟的输出视频内容。

具体实施方式
图1说明本发明的一个实施例的操作。引入视频100被提供到视频管道102,由本发明的转变引擎104接收所述视频管道102。视频管道可被直接提供到应用程序106,如箭头108所指示,或可被提供到转变引擎。转变引擎将修改的视频管道提供给应用程序,如箭头110所指示。
由使用实况视频输入的任何应用程序使用修改的视频管道。这包括即时消息发送应用程序(MSN Messenger,Yahoo Messenger,AOL messenger等)以及视频捕捉应用程序(例如,当一艺术家在将视频捕捉到光盘上时)。这意味着在将视频捕捉到光盘并存储之前或在其被发送到通信信道的其他侧的对话者之前可应用转变。这是因为转变引擎被整合到软件的系统级部分中,这是转变对于使用系统层上方的用户层处的视频流的应用程序来说是透明的。以这种方式,本发明是通用的,即其可与任何视频应用程序共存,且可根据快捷助手上的设定修改其输入。
图2是合并本发明的转变的系统的实施例的方框图。网络摄影10通过USB总线12连接到计算机14。USB总线12充当从摄影机到计算机的视频内容。或者,可提供无线USB内容,或任何其他总线或接口可用于提供视频。另外,可使用非网络摄影的摄影机,或任何其他视频源。另外,视频源可来自计算机内或通过连接到计算机的网络来自远程视频源。
计算机14包括摄影机驱动16,其接收实况视频并将其提供给特征识别软件模块18,特征识别模块18可以是从视频图像中提取与脸部特征相关的信息的任何软件,例如由办事处在California,Santa Monica的机器视觉技术公司Neven Vision开发的软件。
有关脸部特征的检测到的信息被提供给转变模块20。转变模块响应用户输入来选择脸部特征,确定转变类型并应用转变。可通过任何外围设备提供用户输入,例如和键盘驱动26和鼠标驱动28相关联的键盘22或鼠标24。在应用转变后,视频内容提供给应用软件30。应用软件可以是即时消息器应用程序、视频会议应用程序或使用视频的任何其他应用程序。在一个实施例中,由特征识别和转变软件的使用引起的延迟小于一帧视频。
转变快捷助手
图3A显示悬置对话框32,这是当请求实况视频时会打开并出现在屏幕上的快捷助手。这个自动启动是通过摄影机或视频驱动软件来实现的,所述软件检测何时从一应用程序(例如即时消息器应用程序)针对一视频内容发出一请求。快捷助手会出现在需要实况视频的程序窗口附近,所以它出现时如同是应用程序的一部分。图7中显示即时消息发送的实例。这提供一优势:允许转变应用程序与使用视频内容但不需要经过修改来协调转变引擎的第三方应用程序一起工作。用户将通常假设快捷助手是所述第三方应用程序的一部分。这增加了新技术的使用和接受的简易性。
图3B说明快捷助手对话框的下拉菜单34。显示选项的实例,其他内容会在其他实施例提供。用户可打开或关闭脸部跟踪,且可跟踪多个脸部。脸部跟踪会或不需要特征识别模块。用户可点击“视频效果选择”,且会出现另一个对话框,例如图4或图5A中所述的实例。菜单可包括不是转变特征的一部分的选项,但同时这是用户想要修改的,例如摄影机位置。所述选项可允许用户启用视频转变效果,选择一效果,或转到互联网来下载更多的效果。
选项
图4是允许用户选择不同选项的转变模块的界面屏幕40的一个实施例的图。一个实施例中的这个屏幕是当用户点击图3B中的视频效果选择时会看到的第一个屏幕。第一按钮42是用于选择手动调整。这允许用户独立地并直接地调整眼睛、鼻子、嘴等的脸部特征。按钮44允许表情选择。这会允许例如微笑、皱眉、生气、年龄等的表情。选择这些表情的一个,例如生气,会使多个脸部特征自动适当地调整,而不需要用户独立地对每一者进行调整。例如,如果选择生气,那么软件会自动调整嘴的位置、眉毛、脸颊上的皱纹等。装备按钮46允许用户对视频图像应用各种饰品。例如,可在头上放一顶帽子,在脖子上围一条围巾、耳环或其他珠宝、穿孔、纹身等。
转变模块允许对一个人应用虚拟翻新。可改变眼睛的大小,且可略微修改其位置。可改变虹膜颜色。嘴唇可以变得更宽或更窄,或可以其他方式强调。可使用各种其他修改。
手动选择
图5A是手动调整脸部特征的用户界面框50的实施例的图。框50包括一系列按钮和下拉菜单56,其允许选择特定特征,例如提高嘴唇、拉长眼睛、修整眉毛、改变虹膜颜色和移除皱纹等。当选择特定按钮时,专门的修改框会针对选定的特定的脸部特征而出现。
当选择嘴唇提高时,会出现图5B的框58。在所示的实例中,为丰满度、宽度、色彩饱和度和弯曲度提供单独的调整滑尺。其他脸部特征会利用不同的输入方法提出调整选项的不同组合。在设定所要的效果后,当点击预览按钮时,将提供例如下面图7中所示的预览窗口来允许实时预览。在一个实施例中,图5B的调整和预览窗口同时显示,或显示在预览窗口中,来允许用户观看移动不同滑尺的效果。应了解,可使用非滑尺的其他输入。
表情选择

变化
在一个实施例中,应用到脸部的变形(例如“更丰满的嘴唇”)会和不动的对象一起移动。在某些现有技术应用中,对正面脸部应用变形。在本发明的实施例中,头和特征的3D位置被局部化,且从用户的正面位置到实际位置调整变形。因此,当对象旋转他的头部时,即使脸部不是正面的,也能维持变形(例如,丰满的嘴唇),因此,嘴唇或其他特征会仍然看起来比较自然,但这些会变得“更丰满”。这是利用针对每个特征经存储和修改的3D图像,或使用用于在运行中进行3D调整的算法来实现的。
在一个实施例中,本发明能在运行中将修改应用到实况视频,且仅具有小于一帧的延迟。这是可以的,因为仅转变或修改脸部的某个特征,而不是整个脸。在一个实施例中,少于20%或少于10%的视频是经修改的。这限制了所需的处理量,并增加了完成转变的速度。
在另一实施例中,用户在视频内容到应用软件程序之前选择将应用的转变。在另一实施例中,用户还可在运行中作出调整,例如,在即时消息器会议中转变或改变视频。
在一个实施例中,本发明整合到视频管道中,使得其对任何应用程序都是透明的。应用程序不需要经修改来协调在视频内容的驱动级处应用的本发明。
在另一实施例中,流行的转变组合被存储为宏表情或特定表情。在可由用户访问的网站上提供这些表情,且用户可产生他们自身的表情并将其上载到网站来和其他用户共享。通过转变产生的类似于名人的特征可在网站上存储为宏以用于下载。
在一个实施例中,例如对于有很多人在场的会议,可独立地对不同的脸部特征应用转变。因此,一个人可被改成具有较宽的眼睛,另一个人可被改成一直在微笑,另一个人会被改成在生气,且另一个人会被改成看起来更年轻。
另外,整个图像可被转变成类似于在趣味屋哈哈镜中所发现的效果。通过让效果保持简单,可实时地在不存在不当延迟的情况下应用这些效果。也可通过避开脸部特征检测软件的能力来消除延迟,因为当转变整个图像时就不需要这个软件。在一个实施例中,转变导致一个小于20毫秒的延迟。
所属领域的技术人员将理解,在不违背本发明的本质特性的情况下可以其他指定形式实现本发明。例如,转变可应用到宠物(例如,狗)的脸部特征,或任何其他图像。转变模块也可设置成在启动使用静止图片的应用程序后出现,例如从手机发送截图。转变引擎可设置成只要应用程序(或仅针对一定类型的应用程序)请求视频内容就出现。

Claims (13)
1.一种用于修改一视频图像的方法,包含:
接收一包括一人脸的一图像的视频内容;
从所述视频内容中检测复数个脸部特征;
选择所述脸部特征中的至少一第一者;
选择一针对所述第一脸部特征的修改;
对所述视频内容应用所述修改以产生一经修改的视频内容;和
将所述经修改的视频内容提供给一应用程序。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述选择所述脸部特征中的至少一第一者包含:
选择一表情;和
修改复数个所述脸部特征来获得所述表情。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述视频内容是一实况视频内容。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述应用程序是一即时消息发送程序。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包含:
显示一图形用户界面,其在检测所述视频内容后指示所述选择步骤的可用性。

7.一种用于修改一视频图像的装置,包含:
一视频输入内容,其包括一人脸的一图像;
一特征检测软件模块,其经配置以从所述视频内容中检测复数个脸部特征;
一转变软件模块,其经配置以从所述特征检测软件中接收检测到的脸部特征的一指示,并启用所述脸部特征中的至少一第一者的选择、针对所述第一脸部特征的一修改的选择和对所述视频内容的所述修改的应用来产生一经修改的视频内容;和
一经修改的视频内容输出,其被导向一应用程序。
8.根据权利要求7所述的装置,其中所述转变软件模块经进一步配置以允许:
选择一表情;和
修改复数个所述脸部特征来获得所述表情。
9.根据权利要求7所述的装置,其中所述视频输入内容是一实况视频内容。
10.根据权利要求9所述的装置,其中所述转变软件模块修改少于20%的所述视频输入内容。
11.根据权利要求7所述的装置,进一步包含一用于访问所述转变视频软件的快捷助手。

13.一种用于修改一视频图像的装置,包含:
一实况视频输入内容,其包括一人脸的一图像;
一特征检测软件模块,其经配置以从所述视频内容中检测复数个脸部特征;
一转变软件模块,其经配置以从所述特征检测软件中接收检测到的脸部特征的一指示,并启用所述脸部特征中的至少一第一者的选择、针对所述第一脸部特征的一修改的选择和对所述视频内容的所述修改的应用来产生一经修改的视频内容;
所述转变软件模块经进一步配置以允许选择一表情,且修改复数个所述脸部特征来获得所述表情;
其中所述转变软件模块修改少于20%的所述视频输入内容;
一快捷助手,其用于访问所述转变视频软件,所述快捷助手经配置以悬置在使用所述视频内容的一应用程序附近;和
一经修改的视频内容输出,其导向所述应用程序。
