Abstract

Cylinder (4) comprising a piston (2) with a longitudinal bore (3) An Independent claim is included for methods of fluid transport and mixing.

Description

The invention relates to a syringe for transporting Liquids and a method of transporting Liquids.

For the transport of liquids and gases u. a. Syringes used. These consist of a cylinder with a piston that is raised and lowered after the Displacement principle directly or via an air cushion the desired transport of liquids. The Pistons can be manually or with an electrically operated drive can be moved. The Pistons are designed so that their cross section with the Closes the inner wall of the cylinder tightly. To do this most of the pistons have a stamp that sealing the piston to the inside wall of the cylinder causes. The known from the prior art Syringes have pistons that are made from a solid piston exist rod connected to a drive are or can be operated manually. That to the end let the cylinder form the end of the piston a stamp that is flush in cross section with the cylinder closes the inner wall. When filling these syringes with liquids, e.g. B. by means of a gas stream, bil there is a gas cushion in the syringe barrel that is not can escape. This has the disadvantage that the rivers only transported together with the gas phase  can be and this gas phase z. B. also in the Lines remain. Furthermore, it is not possible a homogeneous mixing of liquids under to achieve different densities within the syringe. The first liquid is drawn into the syringe. Becomes now add a liquid with a higher density fills, it can be a piston stroke turbulent mixing of the liquids that come but does not lead to homogeneous mixing. With the conventional syringes it is only possible Lich, liquids in and out through the outlet to transport.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a syringe To create transport of liquids with which it is possible a liquid from the gas phase that got into the syringe during transport or was already present as a gas cushion in the syringe and transport it further.

Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to provide a syringe create a homogeneous mixing of rivers liquid within the tip is possible.

It is also an object of the invention to provide a syringe to create liquid with which to transport it is possible, even after closing the opening of the Syringe barrel to transport liquids. Un ter the name "opening of the syringe barrel" from the existing in commercial syringes let through the liquids both sucked in as well be expressed, understood.

In addition, it is an object of the invention, a Ver drive to transport liquids to create with  which it is possible to get a liquid from the gas phase to separate and transport further. It's a job the invention to provide a method with which homogeneous mixing of liquids within the Syringe body is made possible. It is said to continue Procedures are created with which it is possible even after closing the opening of the syringe cylinder to transport liquids.

With the syringe and the method according to the invention it is now possible to use a liquid containing e.g. B. by a gas stream was conveyed from the gas phase to separate and transport it without gas phase. It is also possible to use liquids and gases due to different density with difficulty mix each other by supplying gas to the In Mix the interior of the syringe homogeneously. With With the help of the syringe according to the invention, liquids can be obtained as well as gases after the opening has been closed of the syringe barrel are transported.

Fig. 1 zeigt einen seitlichen Querschnitt der Spritze 1. Fig. 1 shows a side sectional view of the syringe 1. The piston 2 with the longitudinal bore 3 is surrounded by a cylinder 4 . The longitudinal bore 3 is equipped with a line 5 which can be opened or closed by a 2-way valve 6 . The piston 2 can be moved up and down in the vertical direction. By lifting the piston 2 , a cavity 7 is formed in the cylinder 4 , which can be filled with liquid ge via a line 8 , which is both run and drain line. The opening or closing of this line 8 can be controlled via a 3-way valve 9 . The 3-way valve 9 further regulates the connection to the supply line 10 and the discharge line 11 , which, with a suitable setting of the 3-way valve 9, are also connected to the line 8 which comes from the cavity 7 of the cylinder 4 . The movement of the piston 2 takes place either manually or by an electrically operated motor 12 , which exerts an up and down movement via a lifting / lowering device 13 on the head 14 of the piston 2 . The cylinder 4 with the Kol ben 2 is hung for fixation in the lifting / lowering device 13 which is driven by a motor 12 . A tripod 15 stabilizes the entire device.

The invention is described below by way of example be.

From the supply line 10 into the line 8 of the cylinder 4 , a liquid is passed into the cavity 7 of the cylinder 4 by means of a gas flow. During this transport process, the piston 2 is located at the upper end of the cylinder 4 . The 3-way valve 9 is set so that the liquid flows through the feed line 10 into the line 8 in the cavity 7 . The 2-way valve 6 is open in the meantime. The transport gas can escape unhindered. The liquid collects in the lower region of the cavity 7 of the cylinder 4 . The volume of the cylinder 4 is to be selected so that the gas flow does not drag the liquid out of the syringe 1 through the longitudinal bore 3 . After completion of the transport, the piston 2 is moved so far down that only the remaining Gasvo lumen remains in the longitudinal bore 3 of the piston 2 . A central longitudinal bore 3 is particularly preferred since this arrangement is particularly stable. Then the 2-way valve 6 is closed. The 3-way valve 9 is switched so that the liquid flows through line 8 into the discharge line 11 . The piston 2 is driven by a motor 12 , e.g. B. a stepper motor, moved down via the lifting / lowering device 13 . The lowering of the piston 2 leads to the stripping of liquid drops which have reached the inner walls of the cylinder 4 through the gas flow. The liquid can be low loss and gas phase free without splashing from the discharge line 11 z. B. pressed into a synthesis apparatus.

Through the device with the longitudinal bore 3 of the Kol bens 2 , it is also possible to pass a liquid through the supply line 10 and the line 8 into the cavity 7 of the cylinder 4 and then to pass another liquid with a higher density into the cavity 7 or by means of piston stroke. By supplying gas via lines 10 or 11 into line 8 , these two liquids can be homogeneously mixed with one another. This mixing would not be possible without the gas supply. The gas can escape during the mixing through the longitudinal bore 3 in the piston 2 with the 2-way valve 6 open.

Through the line 5 and the longitudinal bore 3 can also be carried out if liquids are transported. The line 5 can for example extend along the entire length of the longitudinal bore 3 and be flush with the plunger 2 a of the piston 2 . It can at play but only to a corresponding port on the head 14 of the piston 2 or be connected within the longitudinal bore 3, so that the longitudinal bore 3 itself forms the continuation of the line 5. It should be noted that there should be no dead space between the line 5 and the longitudinal bore 3 by connecting the line 5 . If through this line 5 a supply of liquid is to take place, the piston 2 , with the line 8 closed by the corresponding position of the 3-way valve 9 , preferably accordingly the volume to be added, is raised. This creates a negative pressure that draws liquid, for example, from a closed supply vessel or from liquid-filled supply lines through line 5 into the cavity 7 of the cylinder 4 . A gas phase that was also sucked in can be reduced again to the volume of the longitudinal bore 3 of the piston 2 by lowering the piston. At closing, line 5 is closed by appropriate setting of the 2-way valve, line 8 opens by appropriate position of 3-way valve 6 and the liquid is pressed out of cylinder 4 by lowering piston 2 .

Transport der Targetflüssigkeit zur Syntheseappara tur1. Transport of the target liquid to the synthesis apparatus door

Through the z. B. a cyclotron leading to the syringe 1 supply line 10 (length approx. 40 m), the [ 18 F] fluoride-containing 18 O water (approx. 1.3 ml) is passed into the cylinder 4 by means of a He gas stream. During the transport process, the piston 2 is located at the upper end of the cylinder 4 . The 2-way valve 6 is opened so that the transport gas can escape unhindered without entraining the liquid. The 3-way valve 9 is set so that there is a connection between the supply line 10 and the line 8 be. After the transfer is complete, the 3-way valve 9 is switched over so that the line 8 is closed. The piston 2 is driven by motor so far down that only a remaining gas volume remains in the longitudinal bore 3 of the piston 2 . Then the 2-way valve 6 is closed and the 3-way valve 9 is adjusted so that there is a connection between the line 8 and the discharge line 11 . The target liquid is transported into an electrochemical cell by lowering the piston 2 via the line 8 of the cylinder 4 and the discharge line 11 . The previously remaining in the syringe 1 gas volume te should be dimensioned so that it speaks ent the volume of the lines between the 3-way valve 9 and the volume of the supply line to the electrochemical cell. As a result, the [ 18 F] fluoride-containing 18 O water reaches the electrochemical cell with little loss and gas phase-free, without splashing, in which the [ 18 F] fluoride is deposited electrochemically.

2. Vermischung flüssiger Phasen mit nachfolgendem, kon trollierten Flüssigkeitstransport2. Mixing of liquid phases with the following, con trolled fluid transport

After the 18 F fluorination reaction taking place in the organic solvent has ended, the solution (about 1.5 ml of dimethyl sulfoxide) is passed from the electrochemical cell with the aid of a gas stream through a line into a second syringe 1 . Syringe 1 (total volume: 20 ml) contains 9 ml of water. The 2-way valve 6 is opened again. The gas flow within the syringe 1 leads to a homogenization of the organic-aqueous solution. After the 2-way valve 6 has been closed , the mixing phase is passed through a solid-phase cartridge by adjustable lowering of the piston 2 with a defined volume flow. In the next step, the 2-way valve 6 is opened again and z. B. 3 ml of an organic solvent as described above be by gas transport from a storage vessel into the syringe 1 . After closing the 2-way Ven valve 6 , the liquid is then pressed through a solid-phase cartridge with a defined volume flow. The previously fixed, 18 F-labeled product is eluted by this process and is thus present in an organic solvent that is suitable for HPL chromatographic product separation.
