Die Erfindung beruht auf dem allgemeinen Gedanken, ein Befestigungsbauteil mit einem plattenartig ausgebildeten Grundkörper auszubilden, an dessen Oberseite ein Befestigungselement zur im Wesentlichen spaltfreien Befestigung des Befestigungsbauteils an einem ebenfalls im Wesentlichen plattenartig ausgebildeten Basisbauteil vorgesehen ist. Dabei ist das Befestigungselement in der Art eines Federelements ausgebildet, welches durch Erzeugen einer auf das Basisbauteil wirkenden Federkraft den Grundkörper des Befestigungsbauteils gegen das Basisbauteil presst, so dass dieses im Wesentlichen spaltfrei am Basisbauteil anliegt. Mittels der vorangehend beschriebenen Ausbildung des Befestigungselements lässt sich das Befestigungsbauteil auf einfache und somit kostengünstige Weise herstellen; gleichzeitig ermöglicht die Ausbildung als Federelement, die das Befestigungselement gegen das Basisteil presst, eine im Wesentlichen spaltfreie Befestigung des Befestigungsbauteils am Basisbauteil. Beispielsweise lässt sich mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Befestigungsbauteil ein als Hutablage ausgebildetes Basisbauteil in einem Kraftfahrzeug abdecken. Die beiden Befestigungsarme sind dabei durch eine am Basisbauteil vorgesehene komplementäre Durchgangsöffnung zur Befestigung des Befestigungsbauteils am Basisbauteil wenigstens teilweise durchschiebbar oder durchsteckbar. Es ist klar, dass die Durchgangsöffnung relativ zu den beiden Befestigungsarmen an einer geeigneten Position am Basisbauteil vorgesehen werden muss, da durch die Position der Befestigungsarme am Befestigungselement und der Durchgangsöffnung am Basisbauteil im montierten Zustand die relative Lage des Befestigungsbauteils zum Basisbauteil festgelegt ist.
