Zunächst einmal ist die erfindungsgemäße elastische und damit rückstellende Dehnbarkeit des Wickeltuches in zwei Richtungen von großem Vorteil: Die Dehnbarkeit in Längsrichtung ermöglicht eine straffe Wicklung um das gewünschte Körperteil, wobei die Elastizität des Tuches durch einen leichten Zug zur sicheren Halterung des Wickeltuches beiträgt; die Dehnbarkeit in Querrichtung zur Wickelrichtung erlaubt mit Vorteil die Anpassung des Wickeltuches an einen großen Bereich von unterschiedlichen Körperflächen und läßt auch ein sicheres, zu seiner Längsachse schräges Wickeln des Wickeltuches zu. Der gewalkte Wollstoff verwirklicht die Vorteile eines hautverträglichen, natürlichen und stark wasseraufnehmenden Stoffes mit einer Oberfläche, die in der Lage ist, die Haken der Hakenbänder zu haltern. Dies unterscheidet sie deutlich von anderen Webstoffen, die dies nicht können, aber auch von solchen Stoffen wie Frottee, deren Weichheit durch lose Fadenenden erzeugt wird und die der mechanischen Belastung durch die Haken nicht auf Dauer widerstehen können. Bevorzugt handelt es sich bei dem Material um ein kbA-Material, insbesondere eine kbA-Schurwolle mit dem angegebenen Flächengewicht, wobei letzteres auch in technisch sinnvollen Grenzen über- oder unterschritten werden darf, wie weiter unten erläutert ist. Die genaue Form des erfindungsgemäßen Wickeltuches ist zunächst ohne Belang, es kann in jede anatomisch sinnvolle Form zugeschnitten sein. Die Bindungsart des Wickeltuches ist bevorzugt Leinenbindung, jedoch ist auch Köperbindung denkbar. Die Walkung wird nur soweit durchgeführt, daß der erreichte Verfilzungsgrad für die dauerhafte Halterung des Hakenbandes ausreicht. Es ist nicht gewünscht, daß die Walkung die ursprüngliche Webbindung vollständig überformt. Hierdurch kann die Erfindung mit großem Vorteil auf gesonderte Flauschbänder verzichten und somit die Herstellung und die Anwendung deutlich vereinfachen. Beim Entwurf eines neuen Wickeltuches muß nicht auf besondere Befestigungsflächen für die Flauschbänder Rücksicht genommen werden.
