Description
Stand der TechnikState of the art
In conventional methods of making an abrasive abrasive grains are scattered on an abrasive backing, wherein in a special case of electrostatic scattering, partial alignment of abrasive grains having a dipole moment occurs through an electric field. However, in the case of scattering, the abrasive grains may be applied only partially with an orientation in which the grinding edges and working tips of the abrasive grains are arranged so as to achieve maximum removal of a workpiece.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
The invention is based on a method for producing an abrasive. It is proposed that abrasive grains are applied by means of alignment recesses on at least one abrasive backing at least partially directed.
An "abrasive" is to be understood in particular as a means having at least one layer of abrasive grains, which is intended to process a surface in a grinding process and to achieve a material removal on the surface. In particular, the abrasive comprises at least one abrasive pad and at least one layer of abrasive grains deposited on the at least one abrasive pad secured to the abrasive pad by at least one attachment means, in particular at least one attachment layer of an adhesive, for example a resin. Preferably, the layer of abrasive grains is loosely fixed to at least one layer of a base binder on a surface of the abrasive substrate and fixedly secured by means of at least one layer of a cap binder. An "abrasive substrate" is to be understood in particular as meaning a body made of a carrier material, for example a band or a disk of a paper material, a cardboard material, a textile material, in particular a suede material, a film, a foam, a plastic and / or a metal. In particular, the abrasive backing may include multiple layers of the same or different backing materials. The abrasive pad is preferably formed band or disc-shaped, but in principle, other shapes, such as frustoconical or hexagonal shapes are possible. An "abrasive grain" is to be understood, in particular, as meaning a preferably ceramic, crystalline and / or metallic body having at least one working tip on which the grinding edges converge to remove material from a workpiece to be machined. Depending on a desired application and a desired degree of fineness, the abrasive grains have a diameter of at most ten millimeters, preferably one millimeter and at least twenty microns, advantageously at most five microns and preferably one half micrometer. Preferably, the abrasive grain is made in a manufacturing process that includes at least one sintering step, or is sintered to a cure after being applied to the abrasive backing. A layer of abrasive grains may, in principle, comprise abrasive grains having a defined geometry and / or abrasive grains having an undefined geometry. By "abrasive grains having a defined geometry" is meant in particular abrasive grains which have at least substantially identical and at least substantially predetermined shape, for example a rod or tetrahedron shape. In particular, abrasive grains having a defined geometry have been produced by a process that selectively produces abrasive grains having the at least substantially predetermined shape. By an "at least substantially identical form" is to be understood in particular that the abrasive grains have an identical shape and preferably an identical size except for production-related deviations. By "alignment recesses" are to be understood in particular recesses which are intended to receive an abrasive grain with a defined geometry with a defined orientation of the abrasive grain. In particular, the alignment recess is formed so that the abrasive grain has a secure hold in the alignment recess only in a certain orientation and is resistant to deflection by force surges. Preferably, the alignment recess is formed so that the abrasive grain completely fills the alignment recess in a defined orientation and leaves at least a portion of the alignment recess unfilled in any orientation deviating from the defined orientation. In particular, the alignment recesses are intended to effect at least a similar orientation of an amount of abrasive grain for application to the abrasive backing so that when applied to the abrasive backing, the abrasive grains are deposited with a high probability of optimal orientation, particularly with a higher probability is considered to be a probability of optimal orientation achieved in a scattering process application without alignment pits. In particular, the abrasive grains may be scattered on a surface having the alignment recesses and abrasive grains not included in the alignment grooves may subsequently be removed by a removal process, for example by blowing off with an air stream In principle, by at least one additional method step, introduction of the abrasive grains into the alignment recesses can at least be facilitated in order to provide an amount of abrasive grain with a defined orientation. In particular, the alignment recesses are complementary to a shape of at least a portion of the abrasive grain. An "optimal orientation of the abrasive grains" is to be understood in particular as an orientation of abrasive grains on the abrasive substrate in which the grinding edges and / or working tips are arranged relative to the abrasive substrate, so that a maximum grinding performance is achieved on a workpiece. In particular, a high probability of an orientation of the abrasive grains on the abrasive substrate with a high grinding performance and thus an abrasive with a high grinding performance can be achieved by the inventive design of the method.
Furthermore, it is proposed that an introduction of abrasive grains into the alignment recesses is at least supported by force surges. The term "force impacts" should be understood to mean, in particular, short-term unidirectional force introduction, which causes movement, in particular a slight movement, of the abrasive grains, in particular impact, which is a movement of the abrasive grains essentially into one of a surface on which the abrasive grains rest, vertical or parallel direction causes. In particular, the force pulses can realize a shaking motion in which the abrasive grains are deflected in a parallel direction by a periodic series of force pulses in at least two opposing directions parallel to the surface on which the abrasive grains rest. A "slight movement" is to be understood in particular a movement over a distance which is at most twice as large, advantageously at most the same size and preferably at most half as large as a maximum longitudinal extent of an abrasive grain. By the fact that "the force impacts at least support an introduction of abrasive grains into the alignment recesses" is to be understood in particular that the force impacts are dimensioned so that in the alignment recesses introduced abrasive grains that completely fill the Ausrichtvertiefungen by the power surges only with a low probability are removed from the alignment recesses and non-aligning abrasive grains are moved across the surface by the force jolts, so that in a course of a process step in which the force pulses are introduced, a number of alignment grooves in the abrasive grains completely fill the alignment grooves and thus optimally oriented. In particular, a method with a high number of applied abrasive grains with an optimal orientation can be achieved.
In a development of the invention, it is proposed that the abrasive grains are shaken into the alignment recesses. In particular, it is possible to achieve a method with a method step that is easy to implement in terms of process technology to support the introduction of abrasive grains into the alignment recesses by means of force impacts.
It is further proposed that the abrasive grains at least partially directed application at least partially with at least one base area are introduced into the alignment recesses. A "base region" is to be understood in particular as a side of the abrasive grain which is remote from a working tip. In particular, the base region has a base. A "pedestal" is to be understood in particular as meaning a region of the abrasive grain which has a significantly widened design in relation to a work area provided for abrading a workpiece and which is intended to achieve a secure installation and maintenance of the abrasive grain on a surface and / or in an alignment recess. In particular, the base is designed so that it completely fills the alignment recess. By taking a certain area of the abrasive grain "at least partially into the alignment groove," it is to be understood that at least fifty percent, advantageously at least seventy percent, and preferably at least ninety percent of the particular area is satisfied upon complete filling of the alignment cavity by the particular area are included in the alignment recess. In particular, the abrasive grains introduced into the alignment recesses at least partially with the base region are aligned with the base region after the at least partial introduction. In particular, after an at least partial introduction of the base region into the alignment recesses, at least one additional process step is provided, in which a body having the alignment recesses is placed on an abrasive substrate and the body is subsequently removed and / or destroyed in order to align the abrasive grains with the abrasive grains Apply abrasive pad or attach the aligned abrasive grains with a binder in the alignment recesses, wherein the body with the alignment recesses forms the abrasive backing. In particular, it is possible to achieve an introduction of the abrasive grains into the alignment recesses, which can be carried out easily and can be easily supported by force impacts.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the abrasive grains are introduced at least partially with at least one working area into the alignment recesses for an at least partially directed application. In particular, after an at least partial introduction of the work area into the alignment recesses, pedestal areas of the abrasive grains protrude beyond a body having the alignment recesses and can be connected to an abrasive substrate by straightforward methods. In particular, a simple feasible application of aligned abrasive grains to an abrasive backing can be achieved.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the abrasive grains are aligned at least partially in alignment recesses arranged in the at least one abrasive substrate. By "at least partially aligned" is to be understood in particular that after application of the abrasive grains in the alignment depressions at least seventy percent, advantageously at least eighty percent and preferably at least ninety percent of the applied abrasive grains have an optimal orientation. Preferably, the abrasive grains are at least partially introduced with base areas in the alignment recesses at least partially. In principle, however, the abrasive grains can also be introduced at least partially into the alignment recesses with the work area, for example in alignment recesses which have an opening for a passage of a working tip of an abrasive grain introduced into the alignment recess, wherein after alignment of the abrasive grains in the alignment recesses by means of a closure element or a Binder the abrasive grains are mounted in the alignment recesses. In particular, the abrasive pad, in particular an abrasive backing formed as a film or tape, has been punched, punched and / or embossed for fabrication of the alignment grooves or cast, for example, in a casting process with alignment recesses. In principle, other processes which appear suitable to a person skilled in the art are also conceivable for producing alignment recesses in the abrasive substrate. In particular, it is possible to achieve an abrasive that can be produced in a simple manner and with a small number of intermediate steps, with at least substantially optimally oriented abrasive grains.
It is also proposed that the abrasive grains be aligned at least partially in alignment recesses arranged in at least one auxiliary support. An "auxiliary support" is to be understood in particular as meaning a body different from an abrasive support intended to receive the abrasive grains with the alignment grooves and to guide them to application to the abrasive substrate, the auxiliary support being applied during and / or after application of the abrasive grains the abrasive pad is removed and / or destroyed, the aligned abrasive grains being applied to the abrasive pad with at least substantially preserved orientation. By "at least largely preserved orientation" is to be understood in particular that are deflected during an application of aligned in the alignment grooves abrasive grains on the abrasive backing a maximum of twenty-five percent, preferably at most fifteen percent and preferably at most five percent of the abrasive grains permanently from an aligned orientation. Particularly preferably, when the abrasive grains aligned in the alignment indentations are applied to the abrasive backing, all abrasive grains are applied to the abrasive backing with an aligned orientation, for example, by abrasive grains partially received in alignment recesses of the auxiliary backing being bonded to base regions by means of adhesive to the abrasive backing and then into a port the auxiliary pad is removed. In particular, a method of applying oriented abrasive grains to a conventional backing not oriented to a particular abrasive grain shape can be achieved.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the auxiliary substrate and the abrasive substrate be at least substantially approached to one another in at least one method step to apply the abrasive grains to the abrasive substrate.
By "at least substantially approximating each other," it is to be understood in particular that the auxiliary pad and abrasive pad approximate each other so much that abrasive grains received in the alignment grooves of the auxiliary pad make at least contact with an adhesive layer for bonding to the abrasive pad, the adhesive layer is applied to the abrasive pad, and / or that the auxiliary pad contacts the abrasive pad, for example, by being placed on the abrasive pad. In particular, it is possible to achieve application of the aligned abrasive grains to the abrasive backing with an orientation that has remained largely intact.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the auxiliary backing be contacted with the abrasive backing in at least one process step. Preferably, the auxiliary backing is placed on the abrasive backing with abrasive grains received in the alignment grooves. It can in particular, an easily realizable application of the aligned abrasive grains with the auxiliary substrate to the abrasive substrate can be achieved with an orientation that has remained largely intact.
It is also proposed that the auxiliary support be at least partially destroyed in at least one process step. By "at least partially destroyed" should be understood in particular deliberately damaged, so that the abrasive grains are applied aligned with the abrasive backing. Preferably, the auxiliary substrate is completely destroyed, so that after destruction of the auxiliary substrate, only the abrasive grains and the abrasive substrate remain. Preferably, an auxiliary backing formed as a film is completely destroyed by a burn process or a melt process to apply the oriented abrasive grains to the abrasive backing. In particular, the auxiliary substrate is at least partially destroyed in a process step in which an adhesive, in particular a base binder or a top binder for fixing the abrasive grains, is cured by means of heat. In principle, it is conceivable that the auxiliary backing is made of a material which, after being melted and then hardened, serves as a base or top binder for attachment of the abrasive grains. Furthermore, it is also conceivable that the auxiliary substrate is at least partially destroyed in a sintering process to harden the abrasive grains. A "sintering process" is understood in particular to mean a process in which a green compact or a powder mixture of a material or a liquid mixture of the material for an abrasive preforming unit is hardened and / or shaped by means of heat input. In a destruction of the auxiliary pad in a sintering process, the auxiliary pad is made of a material which is destroyed in the sintering process, whereas the abrasive pad is made of a material that endures sintering temperatures. In particular, an easily realizable application of the aligned abrasive grains with the auxiliary substrate to the abrasive substrate can be achieved with an orientation that has remained largely intact.
Furthermore, an auxiliary support with alignment recesses for at least partial alignment of abrasive grains is proposed. In particular, the auxiliary pad is formed as a combustible or fusible film which burns and / or melts at temperatures for sintering to harden an abrasive grain. In particular, at least partial alignment of abrasive grains when applied to a conventional abrasive backing can be achieved.
Further, an abrasive pad having alignment recesses for at least partially aligning abrasive grains is proposed. In particular, an abrasive pad can be achieved with which an abrasive with at least largely optimally oriented abrasive grains can be achieved in an uncomplicated process.
Furthermore, an abrasive grain for producing an abrasive with a method according to the invention is proposed.
In one development of the invention, it is proposed that the abrasive grain has a base region which is at least partially rotationally ellipsoidal in shape. By "an at least partially rotationally ellipsoidal shaped area" should be understood in particular a region of the abrasive grain which has at least partially the shape of an ellipsoid of revolution, for example a hemispherical or semi-ellipsoidal region. In particular, the at least partially rotationally ellipsoidal-shaped base region is complementary to a form of alignment recesses. In principle, differently shaped base regions are also conceivable, for example cuboid, prismatoids, trapezoids or disc-shaped basic shapes. Preferably, the base portion is formed flat with respect to a remaining portion of the abrasive grain and has a maximum thickness which corresponds to a maximum of one half, advantageously at most a quarter and preferably at most one tenth of a maximum longitudinal extent of the abrasive grain. In particular, the abrasive grain has a working region projecting from the base region, which has at least one grinding edge and preferably ends in a grinding tip. The work area can have a wide variety of basic shapes, for example a pyramidal, tetrahedral, cuboid, trapezoid, prismatoid, octagonal or cylindrical basic form. In particular, it is possible to achieve an abrasive grain which can be introduced particularly easily into alignment recesses that can be constructed in an uncomplicated manner.
