Description
Process and device for the continuous production of dispersions, in particular of dyes The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the continuous production of dispersions, especially dyes, under Effect of mechanical vibrations of sonic or ultrasonic frequency, at to which the individual components are fed separately to the treatment room.
Various devices have already become known, in which several liquids or liquids with solid substances are below the action of sonic or ultrasonic vibrations to form an emulsion or suspension are processed.
A difficulty with the known methods in which the emulsifiable or suspending substances are premixed, consists in the fact that these are on The way to the treatment room was already so dismantled that only under high energy expenditure, the emulsion or suspension under the action of the ultrasonic waves can still be made sufficiently finely dispersed. To avoid these disadvantages, devices are also already known in which the various substances can then be introduced separately into the treatment room through channels or nozzles to be dispersed under the action of sonic or ultrasonic vibrations. In this way one wants a more intensive boundary layer formation, which for the effectiveness the sound treatment is essential.
Through the present invention it has now been known that an essential Improvement of the boundary layer formation or crystallite fineness in continuous Manufacture of dispersions, in particular of dyes, with the action of mechanical Vibrations of sonic or ultrasonic frequency at which the individual components are fed separately to the treatment room, can be achieved if according to the invention the components of a channel-like treatment room, which consists of hollow cylindrical, is surrounded radially inward radiating transducers, are supplied in such a way that that the second component by an eccentrically arranged in the treatment room Feed tube comes into contact with the first component only after the latter has already passed through part of the treatment room. Due to the intensive pre-treatment the first component in the treatment room is achieved that when inserting the second Component is the undesired formation of larger crystals due to the effect of ultrasound is prevented.
The device for carrying out the method according to the invention is characterized in that the channel-like treatment space in its length is surrounded by several tubular oscillators, which perforated plates as load-bearing Components for the treatment room are interposed. It is advantageous that the annular space between the tubular transducers and the treatment room by a coupling liquid provided with a constant temperature device is filled out. The coupling liquid is expediently under slight excess pressure: held so that the necessary for the production of emulsions or suspensions Ultrasonic cavitation in the treatment liquid and not in the coupling liquid occurs.
Further details of the device according to the invention are given in Hand of the drawing explained in more detail.
The actual treatment room 1 consists of a thin chrome-nickel steel, which has the advantage of being resistant to chemical attacks. Of the Treatment room is in perforated plates 2, which are located on the not shown Support base plate of the device, stored. Between two perforated plates is in each case a tubular transducer 3 is arranged, and all the transducers 3 and the perforated plates 2 are in a known manner for star bil support and good seal pressed together with means known per se. Between perforated plates and transducers are each sealing layers 4 interposed, so that a liquid-tight Space for the between treatment room. and the inner surface of the transducer arises.
The individual perforated plates 2 are provided with flow channels 5 for the coupling liquid Mistake. The coupling fluid is continuously supplied at C and discharged at D.
Since the influence of the dispersion, in particular of dyes, best for a certain, assigned to the individual substances Temperature is going on, in the device according to the invention, the coupling liquid always at a target temperature, which is usually slightly below the treatment temperature will be held.
One possible embodiment for the supply of the components A. and B consists in that, for example, component A of the dispersion to be prepared sion is supplied at the beginning of the treatment room through the pipe 6, while the Component B via a feed pipe 7 arranged eccentrically in the treatment room 1 the treatment room is only fed after component A has already made its way X in treatment room 1.
Another option for feeding the component B consists in the fact that an intermediate piece 8 at the end of the first oscillator or oscillators 3 is arranged, through which the component B after the component A takes the path X in Has passed through the treatment room, is fed to the treatment room.
Of course, it is also possible to use both facilities to combine with one another, for example in the manner that the components A and B are fed through the feed pipes 6 and 7, respectively, to the treatment room, while a third and possibly also further components by means of intermediate pieces 8 of the treatment device be forwarded.
