Die durch Einwirkung von EpicMorhydrin oder Dichlorhydrin auf mehrwertige Alkohole oder Phenole
erhältlichen .Epoxydverbindungen können mit HiUe verschiedener Umsetzungskomponenten durch Polyaddition
in den unlöslichen Zustand übergeführt werden.
Die Herstellung derartiger als Umsetzungskomponenten
für die erwähnten Epoxydverbindungen geeigneter Addukte ist Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes.
Dieses schützt ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von höhermolekularen, stickstoffhaltigen, wasserunlöslichen,
in organischen Lösungsmitteln, ala Umsetzungskomponente für Epoxidverbindungen geeigneten
Addukten durch Umsetzen von Kondensationsprodukten aus Epichlorhydrin oder Dichlorhydrin
arid 2,2-Di-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan, in denen die
Anzahl der Epoxydgruppen im Molekül größer als 1 ist, mit Alkylendiaminen oder.: Alkylentriaminen bei
erhöhten Temperaturen, welches dadurch, gekennzeichnet ist, daß man einen Überschuß an Alkylendiaminen.
oder Alkylentfisminen verwendet.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß brauchbare Addukte, die sich als Umsetzungskomponenteti für Epoxydverbindungen
im obigen Sinn ebenfalls gut eignen, auch erhältlich sind, wenn man die Epichlorhydrinkondensate
mit einem sekundären Monoamin umsetzt, wobei die Aminmenge so gewählt wird, daß auf
1 Mol Epoxydgruppe jeweils mindestens 1,5 Mol Amin treffen.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zur Herstellung von höhermolekularen, als Umsetzungskomponente
für Epoxydverbindungen geeigneten Addukten durch Umsetzen von Kondensationsprodukten aus Epichlorhydrin
oder Dichlorhydrin und 2,2-Di-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan, in denen die Anzahl der Epoxydgruppen
im Molekül größer als 1 ist, mit Aminen im Überschuß nach Patent 976 833 ist dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man als Amin ein sekundäres Monoamin in einer Menge von mindestens 1,5 Mol je Mol
Epoxydgruppe umsetzt.
Es ist an sich bekannt, daß Monoamine, besonders sekundäre Monoamine, als Härtungsmittel wirksam
sind und daß mit diesen gute Resultate erzielt werden können. In der Praxis haben diese Verbindungen aber
den Nachteil eines unangenehmen Geruches. Überdies sind die niedrigen Monoamine, welche an sich
außerordentlich gute Härtungsmittel sind, zu flüchtig.
Manche sind bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur und Druck sogar Gase. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren
werden sekundäre Monoamine in solcher Weise als Härtungsmittel verwendet, daß die Nachteile vollständig
beseitigt werden.

Bei der Herstellung von Härtungsmitteln gemäß der Erfindung werden das Epoxydkondensationsprodukt
und das Amin vorzugsweise zusammen auf bis 150° C erhitzt, obgleich die Reaktion auch bei
Zimmertemperatur durchgeführt werden kann. Jedenfalls ist Erhitzen in einem vorgerückten Stadium des
Verfahrens vorteilhaft, um eine vollständige Umwandlung zu erzielen. Die Reaktion findet gewöhnlich
bei aormalem Druck statt,, obwohl man auch Überdruck anwenden kann, vor allem bei niedrigsiedenden
Aminen, wie Diethylamin.
Praktisch arbeitet man vorzugsweise nicht mit der erfindungsgemäß erforderlichen Mindestmenge von
1,5 Mol Amin je Mol Epoxydgruppe des Kondensationsproduktes,,
sondern mit 2 bis 5 Mol Monoamin je Mol Epoxydgruppe, wobei eine obere Grenze für
die Aminmenge nur aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen besteht. Aufgenommen wird je Mol Epoxydgruppe
tatsächlich nur ungefähr ein Aminmolekül. Das nicht
art der Reaktion beteiligte überschüssige Amin wird so vollständig wie möglich vom Reaktionsprodukt

abgetrennt und mit den üblichen Methoden, z. B. durch Destillation oder Extraktion, gegebenenfalls
auch durch Dampfstrahldestillation, Vakuumpumpen und Durchblasen mit inerten Gasen, entfernt.
Vorzugsweise setzt man das Kondensationsprodukt der jeweils verwendeten Gesamtmenge an sekundären
Monoaminen zu,.un*-zu Verhindern, daß das Mengenverhältnis
von Anain zu Kondensationsprodukt stellenweise so klein wird, daß eine vollständige
Härtung eintritt/ r''-■ ; ·.. ■" -A
Wird mit Epoxydkondensationsprodukten und bzw. oder höheren Aminen gearbeitet, welche bei normaler
Temperatur sehr viskos oder fest sind, so ist es zweckmäßig, in der Wärme-zu arbeiten, damit die Komponenten
im geschmolzenen Zustand vermischt werden können,-Es kann-auch* ein inertes organisches Lösungsmittel
zugesetzt wejden, um das Reaktionsgemisch
dünnflüssiger- zu mac.hen. Ein besonders geeignetes
Lösungsmittel ist Dioxän, da bei dessen Vorhandensein das Reaktionsprodukt bei Zugabe von Wasser
ausfällt. Auch Diäthyläther .erwies sich als brauchbares Lösungsmittel.
Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Addukte liegen in Form von viskosen Flüssigkeiten bis zu festen
Substanzen vor und sind in verschiedenen organischen Lösungsmitteln, wie Dioxan, Diäthyläther, Methanol,
Aceton, Chlörb'f ötro-tfnd-Toluol,. löslich. Die Produkte
erhärten nicht, selbst wenn sie längere Zeit, z. B. 24 Stunden lang, auf 50 bis 1000C erhitzt werden.
Die Beispiele dienen zur Erläuterung der Erfindung, wobei Teile als .Gewichtsteile und Prozentangabem als
Gewichtsprozent ^ zu cyerstehen sind. Die in den .Beispielen
genannten Eppxydkondensationsprodukte A und B sind aus 2,2-Di-'(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan 'und
Epichlorhydrin hergestellt und haben folgende Eigenschaften:
unschmelzbar undiinlöslich in Diäthyläther, Methanol,
Aceton, Chloroform und Toluol war.
Das erstgenannte lösliche-Reaktionsprodukt wurde als Härtungsmittel untersucht, indem verschiedene
Mengen desselben zum KondensationsproduktA hinzugegeben .wurden, und das .Gemisch- auf 65°C erhitzt
wurde während Zeitspannen, wie sie hierunter zusammen mit den Resultaten angegeben sind.

Zu 570 Teilen Diäthylamin wurden unter Rühren 500 Teile Kondensatiönsprodukt A, gelöst in 500 Teilen
Dioxan, hinzugesetzt (3,1 Mol Amin je Mol Epoxydgruppe des Kondensats). Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde
darauf 3 Stunden lang unter ständigem Rühren auf 55 bis 60° C erhitzt. Danach wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in 3000 Teile Wasser ausgegossen, und die
entstandene klebrige Masse wurde wiederholt mit Wasser nachgewaschen, um möglichst viel Dioxan
und überschüssiges Amin zu entfernen. Schließlich wurde das Produkt in einer kleinen Menge Diäthyläther
aufgelöst, und^die Lösung mit Wasser .nach1
gewaschen, bis das· verwendete Wasser neutral reagierte. Der Äther wurde nach dem Trocknen der
Lösung durch Vakuumdestillation entfernt. Das End* produkt (378 Teile) war eine zähflüssige Masse, die
dünnflüssig wurde nach Erhitzen auf 60°C. " .

Eine Lösung von 220 Teilen KondensationsproduktA in 530 Teilen Dioxan wurde in einem geschlossenen
Kessel mit einem Rückflußkühler 24 Stunden lang auf 22 bis 23 ° C erhitzt zusammen mit 400 Teilen Dimethylamin.
Am Ende der Erhitzung ließ man das Reaktionsgemisch 44 Stunden bei Zimmertemperatur stehen.
Durch Destillation, bei 165° C unter 0,5 mm Drupk wurden das Dioxan und der Überschuß Dimethyl-;
. amin entfernt. Das Endprodukt (255 Teile) war. eine zähflüssige Masse, welche bei 60° C dünnflüssig
Jeweils 100 Teile Kondensationsprodukt A wurden bei 65 0C mit den hierunter angegebenen Mengen
dieses Härtungsmittels gemischt und die Mischungen in einem Ofen auf 55 bis 6O0C erhitzt. Folgende Ergebnisse
wurden erhalten:

5 gehärtet in 19 Stunden
10 vollständig gehärtet in 1 Stunde
15 vollständig gehärtet in 1 Stunde
438 Teile Diäthylamin wurden auf 6O0C erhitzt,
wonach eine Lösung von 500 Teilen Kondensationsprodukt B in 500 Teilen Dioxan hinzugefügt wurde.
Durch den exothermen Effekt stieg die Temperatur bis ungefähr 700C, danach wurde die Reaktionsmischung 3 Stunden lang bei 55 bis 600C gehalten.
Daraufhin wurde die Lösung filtriert. Das Dioxan und der Überschuß an Diäthylamin wurden durch
Erhitzen auf 50 bis 730C unter 2 bis 3 mm Druck
entfernt. Das Produkt (454 Teile) war eine zähflüssige Masse, welche bei 600C dünnflüssig wurde.
Verschiedene Mengen des genannten Härfungsmittels
wurden bestimmten, hierunter angegebenen Mengen Kondensationsprodukt A zugesetzt, woraufhin
die Mischungen 30 Stunden lang in einer Form auf 65° C erhitzt wurden, um Festkörper herzustellen.
Die Barcolhärte der Produkte wurde sofort nach dem Härten bestimmt und erneut nach 15 Minuten Untertauchen
in siedendes Wasser.

400 Teile Piperidin wurden unter Rühren allmählich bis zu ungefähr 400C erhitzt. Darauf wurden
125 Teile Kondensationsprodukt A hinzugefügt (7,5 Mol Piperidin je Mol Epoxydgruppe des Kondensationsprodukts),
während die Temperatur auf ungefähr 6O0C gehalten wurde. Danach wurde der
Überschuß an Piperidin durch Destillation bei 800C
ίο entfernt, Wasser hinzugefügt und das restliche Piperidin
unter Schütteln mit Dampf abdestilliert. Der Rest wurde mit Wasser von ungefähr 1000C nachgewaschen,
bis der Piperidingeruch verschwunden war, und dann unter 10 mm Druck 2 Stunden lang
bei 1500C getrocknet. Das Produkt war praktisch fest, wurde aber bei Erhitzung auf 60° C dünnflüssig.
Aus 3 Teilen Piperidin und 100 Teilen Kondensationsprodukt A (0,071 Mol Piperidin je Mol Epoxydgruppe
des Kondensationsprodukts) sowie aus 5 Teilen Piperidin und 100 Teilen Kondensationsprodukt A
(0,12 Mol Piperidin je Mol Epoxydgruppe des Kondensationsprodukts) erhielt man dagegen feste Harze,
die unschmelzbar waren und sich nicht in Aceton und Methanol lösten.
Das lösliche Reaktionsprodukt wurde als Härtungsmittel erprobt, indem 10 bzw. 20 und 40 Teile desselben
zu 100 Teilen zuvor erhitztem Kondensationsprodukt A hinzugesetzt wurden. Die Mischungen
wurden darauf 17 Stunden lang bei 65 0C gehärtet.
In allen drei Fällen erhielt man ein hell bernsteinfarbiges Harz.
Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch:Verfahren zur Herstellung von höhermolekularen, als Umsetzungskomponente für Epoxydverbindungen geeigneten Addukten durch Umsetzen von Kondensationsprodukten aus Epichlorhydrin oder Dichlorhydrin und 2,2-Di-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan, in denen die Anzahl der Epoxydgruppen im Molekül größer als 1 ist, mit Aminen im Überschuß nach Patent 976 833, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Amin ein sekundäres Monoamin in einer Menge von mindestens 1,5 Mol je Mol Epoxydgruppe umsetzt.609729/401 11.66 © Bundesdruckerei Berlin
