Die Querstange q greift im geschlossenen Zustand in die beiden Haken AA¹; in geöffneter Lage (in Fig. ι a punktirt) läuft das eine Ende der Querstange auf die schiefe Fläche f des Hakens A und drückt die beiden Flügel um die Steigung dieser schiefen Fläche aus einander. Abweichend von der Zunge des gewöhnlichen Bascüls fängt die Querstange q erst an zu schliefsen, wenn die Riegel r r¹ nach oben und unten ein Stück hinausgetrieben sind, die Flügel können deshalb um die Gröfse der Abschrägung der Riegelenden, welche mit der Abschrägung des dort befindlichen Schliefsklobens 13 bis 15 mm betragen kann, vom Rahmen abstehen, ohne den Verschlufs unwirksam zu machen. Die Gefahr des Zurückdrängens der mehr als sonst zulässig abgeschrägten Riegelenden durch das quellende Fenster wird durch die starke Reibung, welche die Querstange q in den beiden Haken AA¹ erfährt, unschädlich. Die Anordnung der beiden Haken A A¹ sichert zugleich dem Verschlufs centrälen Druck beim Oeffnen und Schliefsen.In Fig. I, ia, ib and ic the closure is shown with the post loose. Wo die gröfsere Reibung nicht zu befürchten ist, wird die Gleitrolle r einfach durch eine passend geformte, feste Gleitfläche zu ersetzen sein. In Fig. 2 c würde der rechte Flügel ohne weiteres, der linke erst, nachdem der Bügel b nach rechts gedreht ist, zu öffnen sein. Der Verschlufs stellt es also ins Belieben, den einen oder den anderen oder alle beide Flügel zu öffnen bezw. festzuhalten. Die an der Hülse des Bügels b angebrachten Excenter* x¹ drücken beim Rechts- oder Linksdrehen gegen die Hinterkante der Kloben k k¹ und bewirken so das erste Losdrücken der Flügel. Ist auf die Höhe des Fensters mehrmaliger Verschlufs nöthig, so wird die Stange st entsprechend verlängert und auf derselben die erforderliche Anzahl Verschlüsse und Führungen / angeordnet. Eine Handhabe (Knopf, T- Griff oder Bügel etc.) braucht dann nur der in bequemer Höhe liegende Bügel zu erhalten. Es leuchtet ein, dafs der Verschlufs auch einseitig und in horizontaler Lage functionirt, also auch bei. einflügeligen Fenstern oder bei den sich oft horizontal drehenden oberen Fenstern angewendet werden kann. Die üblichen diesbezüglichen Einrichtungen sind indessen mittelst Zange oder anderer einfacher Instrumente leicht zu öffnen, und handelt es sich darum, dem Aufsteckschlüssel eine complicirte Form zu geben, welche das Einbringen fremder Instrumente hindert. Dies ist durch Einführung einer Drehnufs n, mit Dorn d in der Mitte, erreicht; der Schlüsselkopf wird somit die in Fig. 3d, 3ε und 3f angedeuteten Formen erhalten müssen bezw. können. Fig. 3 a und 3 b zeigen die Drehnufs in Verbindung mit dem Haken h des Verschlusses Fig. ι; sie ist mit Gewinde in den entsprechend verstärkten Hakenkopf eingesetzt und verschliefst beim Hineindrehen durch einen kleinen Ansatz die Querstange q. Für den Verschlufs beim äufseren festen Pfosten ist die Form der üblichen Einreiber beibehalten und nur die Drehnufs η zwischen Deckblech β und Bügel a¹ eingeschoben. Der so construirte Einreiber ist dann unabhängig vom anderen Verschlufs in den abzusperrenden Flügeln anzubringen.
