Description
Brake for windshield wiper motors After being switched off, windshield wiper motors continue to run for a long time if they are not artificially braked. This braking usually takes place via a short circuit that is placed parallel to the motor by the end position switch as soon as the main switch is switched off and the windshield wiper approaches its end position. In addition to extensive wiring in the vehicle (four connections from the motor to the main switch), this system requires a main switch with a double function, which makes the use of break controls considerably more difficult.
The invention now relates to a device for braking windshield wiper motors, with the purpose of enabling the on-off switching of the motor with a switch with only one switching function and to simplify the wiring in the vehicle, and possibly the base switch in the windshield wiper motor. The essence of the invention is that the windshield wiper motor is braked with a resistance that is either permanently or only in the immediate vicinity of the end position of the windshield wiper (ie when the non-position retainer is actuated) parallel to the motor. The Abuildungen show two possible circuits. In the circuit of Figure 1, the battery 1 drives the motor current through the wiper motor 2 and the main switch 3, when it is closed. After opening the switch, the motor current initially flows through the contacts 4 and 5 of the end position switch 6 until the windshield wiper approaches its end position, whereby the end position switch is switched. Thereby, the motor from the battery is disconnected and connected via the contacts 4 and 7 of the limit switch in parallel with the Bremawiderstand 8, thereby being braked and stopped before the Endlagenachalter switch back and environmentally den'Notor can start again. Instead of the main switch 3 or in addition to it, a pause control can also be used. In the circuit in Fig. 2, the battery 9 drives a current via the main switch 10 and the motor 11, as well as the braking resistor 12, as long as the main switch is closed. After opening the main switch, the current initially flows through the end position switch 13 until the windshield wiper approaches its end position and the end position switch is opened. As a result, the motor is separated from the battery and braked by the parallel braking resistor. Instead of the main switch 10 or in addition to it, a pause control can also be used here.
