Bei einer Ausgestaltung eines Kühlschrankes gemäß der Erfindung ist bei in der Tiefe verkürzter Ablageplatte der darunter vorn liegende Teil der Eingrifföffnung des Gemüsebehälters mittels eines vorzugsweise ebenengleichen Deckels verschlossen. Die für den Betrieb notwendige Abdeckung zur Verhinderung des Austrocknens von Gemüse und dergleichen Gut ist somit sichergestellt. Soll in den Gemüsebehälter eingegriffen werden, braucht lediglich der Deckel geöffnet zu werden. Dabei kann der Gemüsebehälter auch zusätzlich zur Vergrößerung der zugänglichen Eingrifföffnung zur Eingrifföffnunng des Innnenbehälters hin verschoben werden, er braucht jedoch nicht über dessen Öffnungsebene soweit hinausgestellt werden, daß ein Abkippen nach unten zu befürchten ist. Der Deckel ist dabei insbesondere an der Ablageplatte angelenkt, um die Betriebsbereitschaft jederzeit sicherzustellen und ein Verlorengehen des Deckels zu vermeiden. Zur Vermeidung von überstehenden Teilen ist dabei der Deckel zweckmäßig an der Unterseite der Ablageplatte angelenkt, wobei die Anlenkung so gestaltet ist, daß ein über 90° hinausgehender Schwenkwinkel des Deckels sichergestellt ist. Vorzugsweise ist der Deckel dabei über eine Mitnehmerlasche mit dem Gemüsekorb so gekoppelt, daß beim teilweisen Herausziehen des Gemüsebehälters aus seiner Aufbewahrungsstellung der Deckel automatisch aufgeklappt und beim Zurückschieben in die Aufbewahrungsstellung selbsttätig geschlossen wird. Zweckmäßigerweise ist der nicht vom Deckel überdeckte Teil der Eingriffsöffnung des Gemüsebehälters mittels einer ortsfest angebrachten Abdeckung übergriffen, die mit Abstand unterhalb der Unterseite der Ablageplatte liegt und so zwischen beiden Teilen ein Luftspalt gebildet ist, der sich unterhalb der Ablageplatte bis zu deren rückwärtigen Kante und in der Gegenrichtung in den Zwischenraum des aus zwei Deckelwänden gebildeten Deckels erstreckt. Die nach oben weisende Deckelwand ist dann mittels Durchbrüchen perforiert, so daß insbesondere in einem Umluftkühlgerät ein Kühlluftstrom auch in den Bereich des Gemüsebehälters geführt wird. Um eine Zerstörung der Kopplung zwischen Gemüsebehälter und Deckel zu vermeiden, wenn der Gemüsebehälter weiter als für das Öffnen des Deckels erforderlich herausgezogen wird, ist die die Mitnehmerlasche derart biegeelastisch ausgebildet, daß sie bei Überlastung aus dem Eingriffbereich mit der Anschlaganordnung herausspringt. Ein nicht näher gezeigter Kühlschrank weist einen nur teilweise dargestellten Innenbehälter 1 für die Aufnahme von zu kühlendem Gut auf, in den rückseitig eine Nische 2 für die Anordnung eines Kompressors oder dergleichen Bauteilen eingeformt ist. Auf dem Boden 3 des Innenbehälters steht vor der neben der Kompressornische 2 in üblicher Anordnung ein Gemüsebehälter 4, der zu der der Kompressornische 2 gegenüberliegenden frontseitigen Zugrifföffnung 5 hin von der Nischenrückwand 6 weg nach vorn verschiebbar gelagert ist. Der Zugrifföffnung 5 ist eine um eine senkrechte Achse verschwenkbare Tür zugeordnet, welche den Kühlraum verschließt. Der Gemüsebehälter 4 weist eine Höhe auf, die bis knapp unter das durch die Nischendeckenwand 7 vorgegebene Höhenniveau reicht. Der Gemüsebehälter 4 weist an seiner Oberseite eine freie Eingrifföffnung 8 auf, die von der Nischenrückwand 6 aus in Verschieberichtung des Gemüsebehälters 4 über eine Teillänge von einer Abdeckung 9 übergriffen ist, welche vorzugsweise am Innenbehälter 1 ortsfest angeordnet ist. Zumindest der waagerechte Wandungsabschnitt dieser Abdeckung 9 besteht dabei aus einem feuchtigkeitsregulierenden Werkstoff, der gaspermeabel aber feuchtigkeitsundurchlässig ist. Oberhalb der Abdeckung 9 befindet sich eine in entsprechende seitliche Führungen 10 des Innenbehälters 1 von der Zugrifföffnung 5 aus eingeschobene Ablageplatte 11, die insbesondere aus Glas besteht und bei der zumindest die der Zugrifföffnung 5 zugewandte schmale Seitenkante mit einem insbesondere aus Kunststoff gefertigten Rahmensteg versehen ist. Die Ablageplatte 11 erstreckt sich in Verschieberichtung von der Rückseite her ebenfalls nur über eine Teillänge der Eingrifföffnung 8. Sie erstreckt sich jedoch über die Abdeckung 9 nach vorn hinaus, so daß an der Unterseite 11a der Ablageplatte 11 insbesondere am Rahmensteg 12 ein Gelenk 13 vor dem vorderen Rand 14 der der Abdeckung 9 zugeordneten Halterung vorgesehen werden kann. Am Gelenk 13 ist ein der Ablageplatte 14 zur Zugrifföffnung 5 hin vorgelagerter Deckel 15 schwenkbar angelenkt, der unmittelbar an die mit dem Rahmensteg versehene vordere Seitenkante 12 der Ablageplatte 11 anschließt und der sich über den vorderen Abschnitt der Eingrifföffnung 8 des Innenbehälters erstreckt und dieselbe in der Aufbewahrungsstellung des Gemüsebehälters verschließt. Dabei weist der Deckel 15 zwei etwa parallel zueinander liegende Deckelwände 15a und 15b auf, von welchen die obere Deckelwand 15a mit Durchbrüchen 18 perforiert ist. Dadurch ist im Deckel 15 zwischen den Deckelwänden 15a, 15b ein Zwischenraum 15c gebildet, der mit einem Luftspalt 19 kommuniziert, welcher sich von der rückwärtigen Kante 11b der Ablageplatte 11 über die Abdeckung 9 hinweg bis in den Zwischenraum 15c erstreckt. Der Deckel 15 ist somit über die Mitnahmeanordnung aus Mitnehmerlaschen 20 und Anschlaganordnung 21 so gesteuert, daß bei vollständig in Aufbewahrungsstellung eingeschobenem Gemüsebehälter 4 der der Zugrifföffnung 5 des Innenbehälters 1 zugewandte Teil der Eingrifföffnung 8 automatisch abgedeckt und bei teilweise zur Zugrifföffnung 5 hin in eine Zugriffstellung gemäß Fig. 2 herausgezogenem Gemüsebehälter 4 selbsttätig nach oben geschwenkt ist.
