Abstract

The connecting system for pipes comprises a sleeve (4) into which the pipe (2) is inserted after being passed through a locking washer (7) and thrust ring (15). A union nut (12) is then fitted over the connection. The washer has sloping claws (6) which allow the pipe to be withdrawn when they are not under tension but which are pressed against the outer wall of the pipe by surfaces (8, 9) on the nut and thrust ring when the system is fastened together.
