Abstract

The device (1) is assembled of a piece of fleece (12) serving as the carrier matrix and provided with the prepared substance required for the body to grow its own cartilage replacement and several screws (14) as fixing elements. The fleece (12) can be inserted and positioned by using arthroscopy or mini-arthromy and is fixed with the appropriate number of screws (14), depending on the size of the gap (30). For an easier insertion of the shafts (16) the fleece (12) can be prepared with the required amount of openings (36).
