HINTERGRUND DER ERFINDUNGBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Gebiet der Erfindung1. Field of the invention
Die Erfindung betrifft Stirnpolster. Diese Polster können zusammen mit einer Atemmaske für die Behandlung von schlafbezogenen Atmungsstörungen (Sleep Disordered Breathing – SDB) durch nicht-invasive Überdruckbeatmung (Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation – NIPPV) eingesetzt werden. The invention relates to forehead pad. These pads can be used in conjunction with a breathing mask for the treatment of Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) by non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV).
2. Hintergrund der Erfindung2. Background of the invention
Nasal masks are commonly used to treat respiratory disorders and sleep disorders by delivering a flow of breathing gas to a user, either to assist the user's breathing or to supply the user with a therapeutic form of gas to prevent sleep disturbances such as sleep disturbances. B. obstructive sleep apnea (obstructive sleep apnea - OSA) to avoid. Gas is normally supplied to these nasal masks through a supply line which directs the gas into a chamber formed by the walls of the mask.
The mask is generally semi-rigid and has a facial area associated with the user's nose and / or mouth. The mask is usually attached to the user's head with ribbons. The bands are oriented to pull the mask against the face with a force sufficient to provide a gas impermeable seal between the mask and the user's face. The gas is thus supplied to the mask and passes through the opening in the nasal passages and / or the mouth of the user.
One of the problems that can arise when using the mask is that in order to keep the ligaments taut, the mask is pressed against the face of the user and disproportionately presses against the nose of the user. In addition, the mask can move on the user's face. Therefore, masks often have a forehead support that provides additional contact points between the mask and the user's head. The forehead rest minimizes movement of the mask and discomfort of the mask by preventing the mask from pressing too much against the user's nose and / or area of the face.
One problem with existing forehead pads is the mechanism with which the pad and forehead support are connected. The pad must be positioned so that it can be easily inserted and removed and not accidentally moved. Although foreheadpieces and forehead pads and mask frames are relatively close together, there should be no sharp edges that can contact the user's face, which would lead to further discomfort.
There is therefore a need in the art for a forehead pad that solves the above problems.
