Description

The invention relates to a method for producing a tubular body from wear-resistant Metal that is used to line a bore in a workpiece, preferably a worm machine housing, is determined, the wear-resistant metal by flame spraying on a cylindrical steel core applied, then sintered or melted and then the steel core from the resulting Body is removed.

A method of the aforementioned type is known from US Pat. No. 3,1 01,531. It is particularly suitable for lining relatively narrow bores, in which the otherwise usual methods of armoring with wear-resistant and / or corrosion-resistant material, such as build-up welding or flame spraying of metal powder with subsequent sintering or melting, not or only with considerable difficulty are applicable. One disadvantage of the known method is the necessary intermediate processing the metal layer melted onto the steel core, which is especially true for highly wear-resistant Material is only possible by grinding. But there is also the need to get the steel core through Boring, so having to remove by a rather complex machining process. the The more the wear-resistant metal is in the steel core, the more difficult it is to machine the steel core is diffused. Aside from the amount of work required, the loss of the kernel is quite an considerable disadvantage, which calls into question the economic viability of the known process.

Another known method of manufacturing workpieces from a wear and corrosion resistant Cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy with threaded holes or other profiled holes in that the alloy is welded onto a core made of acid-soluble metal corresponding to the bore and then the metallic core is dissolved (US-PS 20 74 007). This is also the case with this procedure the core is lost after a single use.

In the production of composite castings made of aluminum with a wear layer made of steel it is already known to provide a hollow cylindrical aluminum core, which after spraying the wearing course and the casting due to its greater shrinkage without destruction from the Casting can be pulled out (DT-PS 22 53 874). In another known composite casting process is used as a carrier for the wear metal layer to be sprayed on made of synthetic resin and molding sand Existing core used (OE-PS 2 71 763). In both cases there is no fusion of the wear metal particles among themselves, so that this process does not provide any suggestion for the production of an independent one tubular body can give.

The invention has for its object to improve the aforementioned method so that the Body made of wear-resistant metal can be separated from the latter without destroying the core.

This object is achieved in that before the flame spraying, the core with a liquid binder, applied a thin layer of sand to the wetted surface of the core and the coating thus formed is dried, whereupon in a known manner in the powdery state present wear-resistant metal is sprayed onto the coating and sintered or melted there and that after the metal has solidified, the core is moved out of the body in the axial direction.

Covering the core with a thin layer of sand not only creates the prerequisite for the separation of body and core and thus for the reusability of the latter, but also prevents any mixing of the wear-resistant metal with the metal of the core. Since the flame spraying of wear-resistant metal, for example a nickel-chromium-boron-silicon (NiCrBSi) alloy, has always only been used for the direct coating of metallic surfaces, it was a surprising discovery for the person skilled in the art that a from a uniformly dense layer of wear-resistant metal existing body can be produced solely by flame spraying and subsequent sintering or melting. This makes it possible to easily produce bodies made of wear-resistant metal with very thin walls and of a quality that roughly corresponds to that of investment casting.
Particularly good results can be achieved if, in a further embodiment of the invention, linseed oil is used as the liquid binder for wetting the core and zircon sand is applied to the wetted surface. Appropriately, it is made from linseed oil and

Zircon sand-formed coating dried at a temperature of 200 - 220 ° C for about 2 hours.

A considerable simplification when lining a workpiece bore with wear-resistant material can be achieved according to the invention that the sintering or melting of the metal layer by casting around the on the core located body with liquid steel takes place in a form, at the same time with the The workpiece to be lined is created.

In the drawing, the sequence is provided when applying the method according to the invention Work steps shown schematically using the example of a simple workpiece.

In position A , the core 1 is in the form of a circular cylindrical tube made of normal structural steel, e.g. B. St 35.8, shown. The core can just as easily be massive. Its cross-section is designed according to the shape of the bore to be lined. For example, in the case of the housing of a twin-shaft screw machine, the bore to be protected against wear has an 8-shaped cross-section.

The first treatment step takes place at position B. There the core becomes 1 ζ. Β. wetted with linseed oil by dipping or using a spray gun 2. Depending on the nature of the material, the surface of the core can be cleaned before wetting, e.g. B. by sandblasting, are pretreated.

Immediately after wetting with linseed oil, a thin layer of zircon sand is applied at position C using a sprinkler 3. In general, a single application is sufficient, using only as much sand as remains on the linseed oil. If necessary, however, further wetting and sand application can be carried out. The composition and grain size of the zircon sand is the same as that commonly used in foundries.

In position D , the coating 4 formed from linseed oil and zircon sand is dried at an ambient temperature of approx. 200-220 ° C. for about 2 hours.

Als verschleißfestes Metall kommt beispielsweise eine handelsübliche NiCrBSi-Legierung mit einer Zusammensetzung von 70,5% Ni, 17% Cr, 3,5% B, 4% Si, 1% C und 4% Fe inWear-resistant metal 6, which is present in a powdery state, is applied in a layer thickness of 0.4 to 5 mm to the coating 4 in position E by means of a flame spray gun 5. A commercially available NiCrBSi alloy with a composition of 70.5% Ni, 17% Cr, 3.5% B, 4% Si, 1% C and 4% Fe in is used as the wear-resistant metal

ίο Betracht. To increase the wear resistance can tungsten carbide may also be added to this alloy in a manner known per se.

The spray metal layer 6 applied to the coating 4 of the core 1 is sintered or melted at position F in the usual way, for example in a vacuum furnace 7 indicated by dash-dotted lines. After the metal layer 6 has solidified, the core 1 is at position G by means of a, z. B. hydraulically operated ram 8 is moved axially out of the body formed by the metal layer 6.

The latter can now in the usual way as a sleeve in a workpiece bore to be protected against wear can be used.

The sintering or melting of the spray metal layer 6 can also take place in that - as indicated in position F ' - the core 1 is inserted into a mold 9 and there with liquid cast steel, ζ. Β. GS 52, is encapsulated. In the process, the spray metal layer 6 is melted and, at the same time, a firm connection with the workpiece 10 formed by the casting takes place. After the core 1 has been pressed out by means of the punch 8 at position C, there is a finished workpiece 10 with a wear-resistant, lined bore.

When the core 1 is pressed out, the coating 4 disintegrates by itself. Anything that may still adhere to the core Sand residue can be easily removed, after which the core is ready for reuse.
