Verfahren zum Verbinden einer Vielzahl von Polytetrafluor~ Ethylen-Abschnitten mit einer MikroStruktur aus Knoten, welche durch Fibrillen verbunden sind, dadurch -gekennzeichnet, daß die MikroStruktur an der Verbindungsstelle praktisch nicht unterbrochen ist, indem(a) die Abschnitt durch mechanische Einrichtungen in enger Berührung gehalten werden;(b) die Abschnitte gegen eine Schrumpfung in irgendeinerRichtung zurückgehalten werden;(c) die Abschnitte, während sie so gehalten werden, auf eine Temperatur oberhalb des kristallinen Schmelzpunktes dieser. Abschnitte für eine vorbestimmte Zeit erhitzt werden; und(d) die Abschnitte unter den kristallinen Schmelzpunkt dieser Abschnitte abgekühlt werden, während sie noch in enger Berührung1 c gehalten werden.

- 3. Zusammengesetzter PTFE-Gegenstand, hergestellt gemäß Anspruch 1 oder
- 4. zusammengesetzter, verschweißter PTFE-Gegenstand, gekennzeichnet durch eine Vielzahl von verstreckten PFTE-Abschnitten mit einer Mikrostruktur aus Knoten, welche durch Fibrillen verbunden sind, wobei die Mikrostruktur an der Schweißstelle praktisch nicht unterbrochen ist.
