Abstract
Description
The invention relates to stretchable textile materials with increased thermal insulation properties, in particular are suitable for thin, tight-fitting outer clothing, like ski wardrobe, gloves and work clothes.
Non-woven, heat-insulating, stretchable Textile materials are described in U.S. Patent 4,551,378 wrote. Although these textiles have good insulation properties and show comfort when wearing in contrast, the present invention is even better Insulation properties. Textiles such as those in US Pat. No. 4,551,378 a component can be described of the textiles according to the invention.
Another stretchable non-woven heat insulating Textile material, which according to an embodiment a non-woven, made of thin laminated together Contains fiber layers formed with fibers from Polyester-type copolymer containing butylene terephthalate is described in US-PS 44 38 172.
Another non-woven heat insulating textile Material with stretch properties is available in the trade the name "Viwarm" from a Japanese Her available. The material is a spray-bound, weakly stitched nonwoven web from one Blend material made of 1-denier and 3-denier single component Polyester fibers, the 3-denier fiber a has sufficient curl, so that stretch properties are created. The product owns high "achievement stretch" (i.e. it requires a great force to stretch the textile material); it ver does not have such a combination of Thermal insulation properties and low density like them is made accessible by the present invention.
Another product of the prior art relevant in this area and insofar as it is Fasermi described in some configurations of the present invention are disclosed in U.S. Pat 41 18 531. This patent explains Blend blends of meltblown microfibers and ge ruffled textile staple fibers, which is a refined Form textile or web material with a high insulation value.
The invention provides a new elastically stretchable Textile material (fabric) ready with a surprise high insulation value given its relative thinness. This material can be repeated and reproducible without Loss of its thermal insulation properties or its Dimensional integrity stretched or stretched.
In short, the new stretchable textile material that is here sometimes referred to as "stretch fabric" contains at least one elastically stretchable fiber containing carrier web with substantially uniform Stretching properties and contributes a thin coherent (too contiguous) layer of microfibers, which at least pulled onto a surface of the carrier web or are "coated". An applied layer of melted blown microfibers are preferred; if on the carrier web deposited as a thin layer, it has preference weight less than about 30 g / m²; it increases then the thermal insulation properties of the fabric or Fabric very strong and acts as an essentially integral part of the textile by z. B. with the Lets the carrier web stretch and contract to the extent how the latter stretches and contracts; she stays thus in contact with the carrier web.
The terms "stretch" and "stretch" are used in the Erfin description used synonymously.
It is preferred that the thermal insulation properties of the Textiles are at least 20% larger than the thermal insulation lier properties of the carrier web alone and special this value is preferably greater by at least 50%.
Preferred configurations of the Invention explained, all features, even if in combination according to particularly preferred training are called with other features, fiction according to certain also in sole labeling represent drawn configurations.
Carrier webs used according to the invention can be a be elastically stretchable fiber material, preferred however, it is a non-woven web made of bicomponent fibers created by fusion of fibers at contact points are bonded together and / or thermally in situ were crimped, as in U.S. Patent 4,551,378 is described.
The carrier webs should be substantially uniform and have low stretching properties, such as those in the above-described webs have. The carrier web (and the finished textile of the Invention) preferably show essentially one Recovery to its original dimensions or Ab repeated measurements and insulation properties Expansion by 40% over its original dimension out. Repeatedly means 10 × or more.
It is usually desirable for the bulk or block density of the carrier web is kept relatively low, so that good thermal insulation properties are created, while the web weight also remains low. Weights of about 30 to 150 g / m² and densities in the range of about 0.005 to 0.020 g / cm³ are in the carrier web for the preferred for most applications in the clothing sector. The Carrier webs included in the webs of the invention are preferably also permeability and thereby facilitate the transfer of moisture through the forest. Without adequate per Meability accumulates in the wet garment and this affects each other in the opposite direction and afterwards partly the ability to keep the clothing wearer warm. Carrier webs should have a permeability (such as a Frazer permeability) of at least about 0.25 m³ / sec / m² have (50 ft³ / min / ft²) with a flow resistance stood at 124 Pa (1/2 inch water pressure).
The microfiber coated layers of the invention are typically composed of fibers with one average diameter of less than about 10 microns. they can be manufactured by a number of techni ken, including solution blowing or melt blowing procedure, but they are preferably replaced by a Melt-blow process manufactured. A number of polymer materials can be used to manufacture the microfibers be included, but not in any way limited polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyurethanes. Combinations such polymers can be used as bicomponent fibers be, e.g. B. polyethylene / polypropylene or Polypro pylene / polyethylene terephthalate bicomponent fibers as they in US-PS 45 47 420 described as a microfiber form will; in some cases they are also called fiber blends applicable. The coat weights or coating weights Weights are chosen so that they are considered drawn application of the finished textile provides adequate thermal insulation, but in general they are at least about 5 g / m² and preferably at least about 5 g / m² and preferably at least 10 g / m². A particularly preferred Be rich, especially with meltblown microfibers, is around 10-20 g / m².
Crimped textile staple fibers can be coated in the Microfiber-based layers in the inventive Textile materials can be included for increased quality to reach (loft), but in general represent the Microfibers at least 50 to 60 wt .-% of the coating tung.
The microfibers used according to the invention are typically using a meltblowing process provided, for example, by that of Wente, Van A., im "Superfine Thermoplastic Fibers" attachment in industrial Engineering Chemistry, Vol. 48, pp. 1342 ff. (1956) or that in Report No. 4364 from Naval Research Laboratories, published on May 25, 1954 under the title "Manu facture of Superfine Organic Fibers "by Wente, Van A., Boone, C.D. and Fluharty, E.L. The microfibers are typically placed directly on the Carrier web collected by, for example, the Intermediate webs in an air flow from the fibers. The carrier web can either be relaxed or in stretched configuration. Microfibers or mixtures of microfibers and textile staple fibers are able to get on the train to a greater extent to penetrate when the web is in a stretched configuration ration and is more mechanically intertwined, but a good interweaving is also in the relaxed Condition reached. Have meltblown microfibers good adaptability and become good with the carrier web intertwined, so that they are just on the web with the correct interlocking.
The invention is not limited by the following kenden examples further explained.
A number of textile materials according to the invention (fabrics) was manufactured using a elastic stretchable nonwoven web with a 34 g / m² Basis weight (see US-PS 45 51 378) as a carrier train. A textile material according to the invention, similar to that of Example 4 was made, except that 6 denier and polyethylene terephthalate staple fibers 3.8 cm in length (using the one in US Pat. No. 4,118,531 described apparatus) in the coated layer in an amount of 8 g / m² in addition to the microfibers from 16 g / m² was incorporated. The finished material pointed a thickness of 0.44 cm and a clo value of 0.826, which is a 100% increase in thickness, a clo increase in 142.9% and a clo / cm of 1.88.
