Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a system according to the preamble of claim 1.
When playing golf it is often difficult to find the tall grass, in a bush or whatever to find borrowed hit golf ball. As the Experience teaches is the search for what is played Golf ball is often time consuming, which is general Game operations are delayed, but often in vain, so that the golf ball played is lost.
In contrast, the object of the invention is in creating a system of the type mentioned at the beginning create what a quick, effortless up find played golf balls in the field possible.
This object is achieved by the kenn Drawing features of claim 1 solved.
Advantageous refinements and developments of the system according to the invention result from the subclaims.
Es zeigt:The invention is based on the in the drawings illustrated embodiments in more detail explained. It shows:
Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung des erfindungsgemäßen Systems, und Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the system according to the invention, and
Fig. 2 to 4 sections through different management forms of golf balls for the system according to the invention.
As is apparent from Fig. 1, the system according to the Invention comprises a transmitter / receiver 1 , which emits a relatively sharply focused electromagnetic directional radiation in the direction of the suspected location of a golf ball 2 played. The specially prepared golf ball 2 reflects the bearing radiation back to the transmitter / receiver, which reflects the intensity of the received, reflected bearing radiation optically on a display instrument and / or acoustically with a pitch or strength dependent on the intensity. The opening angle 3 of the directional radiation is relatively low and is, for example, in the range from approximately 5 ° to approximately 30 °.
After hitting the golf ball 2 , the golfer - if he does not find the golf ball 2 easily - near the presumed location, the transmitter / receiver 1 at hand and holds his radiation axis shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1 in the direction of the suspected location of the Golf balls 2 . Then he approaches the suspected location, the transmitter / receiver 1 in the switched-on state emits the electromagnetic direction finding radiation. In the pulse pauses, incoming echoes of the transmitted direction finding radiation are received, evaluated and displayed in accordance with their reception intensity. As soon as the transmitter / receiver 1 responds to reflected electromagnetic bearing radiation, the golf player can determine the intensity maximum of the received reflected bearing radiation and thus the exact direction to the golf ball 2 by pivoting the transmitter / receiver 1 . The display takes place, for example, via a pointer instrument and / or by means of a measuring tone, the height and / or volume of which depends on the intensity of the received, reflected direction finding radiation. The acoustic display has the advantage that the golfer can concentrate his eyes on the search for the ball. Instead of different pitches, depending on the intensity of the received, reflected direction finding radiation, other acoustic differentiations can also be provided, so that the exact alignment with the golf ball 2 can take place quickly.
The intensity of the emitted electromagnetic directional radiation and / or radiation angle can be set by the golfer in order to minimize the battery consumption of the transmitter / receiver 1 , especially since the maximum transmission power and / or a large radiation angle only needs to be set in a relatively large search area.
The golf ball 2 can be prepared in various ways in order to reflect the incident electromagnetic directional radiation. The golf ball 2 usually consists of a core 4 made of a plastic or synthetic resin material, on which a relatively thin, nubbed outer shell 3 made of another plastic material is applied, which is much thicker in FIGS. 2 to 4 for reasons of clarity than in Reality is drawn.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, a metallic, preferably ferromagnetic layer 5 is applied to the core 4 before the outer shell 3 is applied, for example sprayed on. The layer 5 can optionally be perforated in order to ensure a direct adhesive connection between the plastic materials of the core 4 and the outer shell 3 through the perforations.
According to FIG. 4, another possibility is to add metallic, preferably ferromagnetic, particles 8 to the plastic material of the core 4 or the outer shell 3 .
In a third embodiment, not shown, a metallic pin is axially attached in the golf ball 1 , similar to that illustrated in FIG. 3 for a miniature rod-shaped transmitter 7 which is inserted into an axial channel 6 of the golf ball 1 . The metallic pin as well as the miniature transmitter 7 remain completely below the surface of the golf ball 1 . The miniature transmitter 7 works, for example, in the frequency range around 30 MHz and emits electromagnetic waves or radiation which are received by the receiver 1 and are evaluated in the manner described above. This electrically active embodiment of the golf ball 2 according to FIG. 3 has the advantage of a faster and more sensitive location of the golf ball 2 compared to the electrically passive, only reflective embodiments according to FIGS. 2 and 4, since the radiation from the miniature transmitter 7 is at the specially selected frequency can also be received safely if there are obstacles between the golfer and the golf ball 2 which prevent the golf ball 2 from reflecting the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the transmitter / receiver 1 . In the simplest case, the miniature transmitter 7 consists of an oscillator, a coil and a possibly exchangeable battery, the oscillator and coil advantageously being completely resin-encapsulated.
