Das in den Cylinder über dem Kolben eintretende Wasser wird denselben so lange vor sich herschieben, bis eine genügende Anzahl Löcher L L zum Durchflufs des Wassers freigelegt sind. Je nach der Durchflufsmenge in der Zeiteinheit ist der Druck auf den Kolben C, welcher sich mit dem entgegenwirkenden Drucke einer Spiralfeder iS ins Gleichgewicht setzt, verschieden grofs. Einer solcheri Gleichgewichtslage entspricht dann der Ausflufs aus einer gewissen Anzahl von Löchern unter bestimmtem Druck, somit eine bestimmte Wassermenge in der Zeiteinheit.
