Abstract
Description
The invention relates to polymer material compositions as well the preparation of a polymer composition and in particular Absorbent materials that are predominantly based on renewable Based on raw materials and therefore basically also organic are degradable. Due to the predominantly native origin the absorbers hold no or significantly smaller amounts Residual monomers as polyacrylate-based absorbers. The invent Absorbers according to the invention have a comparatively high up capacity and speed, even under pressure, for Water and aqueous solutions show no tendency to gel blocking (gel blocking: when in contact with water, they stick together outer layers of the absorber and prevent another Penetration of the liquid into the absorber) and are mecha nically stable (with regard to segregation into the individual compo nenten). When swollen, separate them into individual ones Particles, they are not aqueous and have a very high Gel stability. The invention further relates to their Ver application for the absorption of water, aqueous solutions and Kör perfluids in hygiene and animal hygiene articles, in ver packaging materials for meat and fish, in culture vessels as well as for soil improvement and as cable sheathing.
Most of the absorbent materials used today, also called super absorbers, which are able to in short Time to absorb large amounts of liquids (water, urine), are primarily weakly cross-linked polyacrylates and are therefore not based on renewable raw materials and are comparatively inadequate or not organic at all biodegradable.
In the effort to make superabsorbents from renewable raw materials to build up was as described in DE-PS 26 12 846, Acrylic acid on polysaccharides, such as. B. on corn starch grafted. However, only small amounts of Po lysaccharides (up to max. 25%) are used, otherwise drastic deterioration in absorption properties be preserved.
Likewise, by incorporating polysaccharides into the Polymerization gel of polyacrylates, as in DE-OS's 40 29 591, 40 29 592 and 40 29 593 is described, the Po lyacrylates only up to max. 25% will be replaced without one significant deterioration in absorption capacity and others To obtain properties of the resulting superabsorbers, also if various auxiliary substances such as fibers and e.g. B. Aluminum crosslinkers are added. The polysaccharides who seen as building blocks for the absorbers to biodegrade to get buildable units.
DE-PS 31 32 976 describes the mixing of polyacrylic acid with polysaccharides in powder form and in solution, the shell of the absorber particles of the mixtures being crosslinked with aluminum, such as Al (OH) 2 OOCCH 3 * 1/3 H 3 BO 3 . Accordingly, no superabsorbents can be produced with this process, which consist of over 60% of renewable raw materials.
In the so far described according to the current state of the art The polysaccharides do not have any of these methods contribution as an absorption component.
Numerous publications such as DE-OS 26 34 539 describe ben the production of carboxymethyl cellulose absorbers, that is, materials that are in principle biodegradable are, by crosslinking the carboxymethyl cellulose with various crosslinkers in the aqueous system. These absorbers show however strong gel blocking.
In US-A 49 59 341 the production of a carboxy methyl cellulose-based absorber is described, which consists of a mixture of carboxymethyl cellulose, cellulose fibers, a hydrophobic component and Al (OH) 2 OOCCH 3 * 1/3 H 3 BO 3 as a crosslinking agent , wherein the aluminum crosslinker causes a crosslinking of the carboxymethyl cellulose during the absorption of liquid.
These absorbers have good absorption properties, show but block phenomena. These absorbers are also replaced by mecha niche loads, such as screening or promotion, easily mixes so that it is no longer a homogeneous product conditions, which severely limits their possible uses.
In EP-PS 02 01 895 the production of a Absorber, which is based on carboxymethyl cellulose, described ben. However, in the manufacture of these absorbers worked an aqueous solution in which the carboxymethyl cellulose only in low concentration is present. Furthermore, larger quantities are used in the manufacture on organic solvents such as acetone, methanol etc. be compelled. The production of this carboxymethyl cellulose absorber It also requires a lot of time. The absorbers itself show block phenomena and low gel strength.
While initially developing the superabsorbers alone the very high swelling capacity when in contact with liquid, too free source capacity called, was in the foreground, has later shown that it was not just the amount of absorbed liquid arrives, but also on the gel strength speed. Absorbance or swelling or free Swelling capacity called on the one hand and gel strength at one cross-linked polymer, on the other hand, were opposed Properties, as already from US-A 32 47 171 (DOW / WALKER) is known, also from US-PS Re 32 649. This means that polymers with particularly high absorption only have a low strength of the swollen gel have the result that the gel under an applied Pressure (e.g. body pressure) is deformable and the further Liquid distribution and absorption prevented. After US-PS Re 32 649 should therefore a balanced relationship between absorption capacity (gel volume) and gel strength strives so when using such super absorber in a diaper construction Fluid transport, dryness of the diaper and skin are guaranteed. It is not only important that the polymer liquid under the subsequent action of a Pressure can withstand after the polymer swell freely could, but also on liquids against a simultaneous, i.e. H. during the liquid absorption tion, to exert pressure as it is under practical Circumstances happen when a baby or person is born a sanitary article sits or lies or if it, e.g. B. through leg movement, shear forces develop. The specific absorption property is in the EP-A-03 39 461 on pages 5 to 7 as an intake under pressure ("Absorption Under Load" = "AUL").
The present invention was based on the object Polymer composition, in particular an absorber, ready deliver and manufacture the man described above Gel does not have and has the following properties sits:
- a) Der Absorber soll überwiegend aus Komponenten nativen Ursprungs bestehen und damit grundsätzlich auch biologisch abbaubar sein.a) The absorber should predominantly consist of components native Exist of origin and therefore basically also biological be degradable.
The absorbers should have a comparatively high Intake speed and capacity for water and own aqueous solutions.

The absorbers should have a high absorption rate and Capacity under pressure for water and aqueous Own solutions.
Another task is to provide one drug-containing composition, their preparation and Use.

the further components are added, mixed until homogeneous and a heat treatment is carried out and, if necessary, the crosslinker is added after this heat treatment and fixed with the matrix by a final heat treatment.
It was surprisingly found that the Her a minor addition of component B to Component A a significant improvement in the absorption egg properties. Since only minor additions to component B are necessary, the residual monomer content of z. B. Acrylic acid of such an absorber is significantly lower than in Polyacrylate-based absorbers.
The incorporation of component B into component A is for example by swelling them together in water or an aqueous solution and then drying it enough. Surprisingly, this process leads to one significant increase in AUL value; moreover can surprisingly, the proportion of component B significantly reduced be decorated without the absorption properties of the Pro duct are affected.
Furthermore, it was surprisingly found that the Add a solid that acts as a matrix for the absorber system acts in combination with the polymer absorption medium, a mixture of components A and B, and one ionic crosslinker, an absorbent can be produced, which has a high recording speed and capacity for Water and aqueous solutions as well as an improved mecha niche strength with regard to the segregation of the individual dry particles. The listed polymers of component A can by a Crosslinking can be modified to increase their water solubility reduce and achieve better swelling properties. The Crosslinking can take place in the entire polymer or but only on the surface of the individual polymer particles kel.
The polymers can be at least bifunctional Networkers be networked.
These above polymers are produced according to known method (DE-PS 27 06 135, DE-OS 40 15 085). A particularly preferred material as component B is poly acrylates, e.g. B. from the chemical factory in Stockhausen GmbH manufactured FAVOR® types.

The absorber system probably gets through through the matrix chemical and / or physical interactions a higher mechanical strength, causing segregation of the individual components through transport processes such. B. by means of a Screw conveyor, or greatly reduced by screening processes becomes. This enables an absorbent to be produced which not only has high absorption values, but also after a packaging or after training in its ver application area as a more homogeneous and therefore more effective system is present.
In addition, embedding the absorbent material in the matrix surprisingly a significant reduction or a complete elimination of gel blocking, therefore guarantee a high absorption speed in the entire absorber accomplishes. Furthermore, the crosslinker is solidified by the matrix fixed on the surface of the individual absorber particles.

The granulation of superabsorbent fine dust by agglo Merierungshilfsmittel is in the examples of DE-PS 37 41 157 and DE-PS 39 17 646 described. The so forth products have a high absorption rate speed for water and aqueous solutions. These products exist but only from polyacrylates and are therefore comparative insufficiently or not biodegradable at all. The agglomeration agents only serve to granulate one Product and never as a matrix material.
The anti-blocking agents also reduce gel blocking; so they cause a faster and better fluid recording and ensure that the gels are separated, d.
