Es ist bei den Flecht- und Klöppelmaschinen ein als lästig und störend empfundener Uebelstand, dafs nicht allein durch den Rädertrieb, sondern mehr noch durch die bewegten Klöppel ein aufserordentliches Geräusch verursacht wird. Die Ursache bei den Klöppeln liegt in deren Construction und in den in ihnen zur Wirkung kommenden Kräften sowohl als in den durch ihre stetig wechselnde Bewegungsrichtung unvermeidlichen Stöfsen an den Flügelrädern und den Kanten der Laufcurven.
