Abstract

The tray, which is designed as a rectangular prism, is provided on two opposite side parts with stabilising tabs (6, 7), the free edges of which are turned towards one another. The stabilising tabs (6, 7) run essentially parallel to the bottom (1) of the tray. With the aid of the tray, a machine can be supplied with cups or the like which are stacked into columns. The trays are to this end placed on a feed channel to be emptied; the side part running parallel to the longitudinal direction of the columns is torn away so that the columns run automatically out of the tray and can be supplied to a filling machine via a chain conveyor and a conveyor belt (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a tray with a square, esp. Rectangular bottom, from the edges of which side parts protrude, which are held in an upright position.

Trays of this type have hitherto been provided with lids which were designed similarly to the tray itself, but had a floor area which was slightly larger than the floor area of the tray. The height of the side parts of the lid was usually less than the height of the side parts of the tray. The task of the lid was to prevent objects in the tray from falling out. Such trays to be provided with a lid were particularly unfavorable in terms of material costs. In addition, the lid, if it was not made of transparent material, prevented the contents from being checked by visual inspection.

To remedy this deficiency is one of the aims of the present invention. To solve the problem, the invention proposes for a tray of the type mentioned at the outset that the opposite side parts are provided with stabilizing tabs which can be arranged essentially parallel to the floor, the free edges of which face each other and that the side parts are optionally in their position rising from the floor by adhesive strips are fixed. Because that Tray is open except for the stabilizing tab on the top, it is possible to significantly reduce the material costs compared to the known trays to be closed with a lid. The trays of the embodiment according to the invention are particularly suitable for receiving cups or lids stacked into bars for closing such cups. The stabilizing tabs prevent the bars from falling out of the trays. It is possible to place several trays one on top of the other (e.g. 15 pieces) on a pallet and to form a dust and waterproof transport unit using a shrink hood and base sheet, which can even be stored outside for a short time under certain circumstances. The stabilizing tabs each form a support for the bottom of the tray that follows in the stack. The size of the tray depends on the packaged goods. If margarine cups are to be packaged, the base has a size of 1000 mm x 1200 mm. The height of the tray is determined by the cup or lid diameter. The connection of the side parts by means of adhesive strips in order to keep the side parts in an upright position is simple to carry out. Of course, other methods for. Keep the side parts in an upright position, such as brackets or the like.

In order to improve the strength of the tray, it can be provided in a further development of the invention that at least two of the opposite side parts are provided along their edges rising from the floor with tabs which abut those side parts which are adjacent to the side parts carrying the tabs, whereby the rags are attached to the side parts to which they lie, in particular by adhesive strips.

Further advantages of the tray according to the invention also result for the loading of packaging or filling machines. While up to now cups, tubes or bottle-like containers were delivered in bars in normal transport boxes with lids and then removed from the boxes in the filling operation and put into the filling machines what a high manual workload, when using trays equipped according to the invention, it is possible to carry out the emptying in a simple manner. To this end, the invention proposes a method for providing and feeding beaker rods or cover rods or elongated tube-like or bottle-like containers or the like. Containers for packaging machines, which is characterized in that the bars arranged in one or two layers in trays are placed on a particularly sloping feed channel and the side part of the tray facing the machine is torn open, especially by hand, so that the bars in the tray reach the Connect each last bar lying in the feed channel and that after opening the tray is either immediately pulled from the feed channel against the direction of delivery of the bars from the feed channel or is removed from the feed channel after emptying.

When using the method according to the invention, it is possible to have both cups and lids, which are in the form of a bar lying in the tray, automatically rolled into the filling machines. All that is necessary is to take a tray, place it on the inclined feed channel and tear open the side part of the tray facing the machine. The bars then roll automatically towards the machine. The method according to the invention can save personnel, because there is no need to manually insert the individual cup rods into the filling machines. In addition, better hygiene is achieved because the bars do not have to be touched by hands to insert them into the machines.

1 shows a schematic representation of an apparatus for carrying out the method according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a cut for a first embodiment of the tray according to the invention, FIG. 3 shows the tray produced from a cut according to FIG. 2 in a diagrammatic view, FIG. 4 a blank of a second embodiment of the Invention tray according to FIG. 5 and a perspective view of a tray made from the blank according to FIG. 4.

13, 14 in ihrer vom Boden 1 aufragenden Lage fixiert. Trays according to the invention in accordance with the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 2-5 have a rectangular base 1, from the edges of which side parts 2, 3, 4, 5 protrude. The edges of the base part are preferably formed here by scoring the blank. The opposite side parts 2, 3 of the tray are provided with stabilizing tabs 6, 7, the free edges of which, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, face each other. The stabilizing tabs 6, 7, as can also be seen in FIGS. 3 and 5, run parallel to the bottom 1. The side parts 2, 3, 4 and 5 are fixed in their position rising from the bottom 1 by adhesive strips 8 and 13, 14, respectively . The stabilizing tabs 6 and 7 in turn prevent the rods, which are arranged with their longitudinal axis parallel to the plane of the side parts 4 and 5, from falling out of the tray. In addition, the stabilizing tabs 6, 7 also allow several trays to be stacked on top of one another to form transport units. The adhesive strips 8 are glued around the side edges of the tray. 4 and 5, the side parts 2, 3 are provided along their edges 15 protruding from the bottom 1 with tabs 9, 10, 11, 12 which, in the ready-to-use state according to FIG. 5, abut those side parts 4, 5 which are adjacent to the side parts 2, 3 carrying the lobes. The tabs 9, 10, 11, 12 are attached to the side parts 4, 5 against which they rest by means of adhesive strips 13, 14. The adhesive strips 13, 14 are located on the outside of the tray.

Fig. 1 illustrates a device as it can be used for loading filling machines. Trays 16, on which the rods 2 are arranged, are placed on a feed channel 20 which is inclined to the horizontal. At the end of the feed channel 20 there is a chain conveyor 18 revolving in the direction of the arrow Q which passes through about a quarter of its circumference on the side opposite the feed channel Abaeckblech 21 is covered. After a tray 16 has been placed on the feed channel 20 or inserted into the feed channel 20, the front side of the tray facing the chain conveyor 18 is torn open, after which the bars 2 roll out of the tray and connect to the last bar 2 located in the feed channel 3. The chain conveyor 18 automatically picks up a beaker bar 2 and, on the side opposite the feed channel 20, delivers the beaker bars to a conveyor belt 19 which conveys the bars to the filling machine.

A carton can be filled in a similar manner in a packaging machine. Where the conveyor belt 19 is located in FIG. 1, a tray 16 which is to be filled with rods made of cups would then have to be arranged. The feed channel 20 would serve for feeding the beaker rods, as they are obtained after stacking individual beakers. The tray can be withdrawn from the feed channel 20 against the delivery direction P of the bars, either immediately after the tray has been torn open or only after all the bars have been rolled out of the tray 16.
