Description

The invention relates to a spacer profile strip for insulating glass with, facing the glass panes, with sealing compound, e.g. Butyl rubber, side surfaces to be coated.

In the known spacer profile strips with flat side surfaces facing the glass panes, the sealing compound, e.g. the butyl rubber, squeezed out by the movements of the glass panes towards the inside of the insulating glass. This goes so far that the metallic spacer ultimately lies directly on the glass panes. With pressure glazing, this condition is reached even earlier.

This also applies to the insulating glass described in DE-AS 1 093 056. In the insulating glass of DE-AS 1 093 056, the sealing putty, which, as is customary for putty, is plastic when the insulating glass is assembled, starting from the round cross-sectional shape, and assumes the cross-sectional shape shown in the drawing on the left. This known insulating glass therefore has the disadvantages described further below in the description with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawings.

If there is glass-metal contact in the insulating glass, then the insulating properties are impaired both with regard to heat penetration and with regard to sound insulation. In addition, the interior of the insulating glass is no longer secured against the ingress of water vapor due to the absence of the sealing compound serving as a water vapor barrier.

In order to remedy this deficiency, spacer profile strips have already been proposed which have side surfaces facing the glass panes that are not just designed, but equipped with grooves and / or ribs. This distance Holder profile strips have the advantage that the sealing compound for the interior of the insulating glass pane cannot be expressed, but they have the disadvantage that there is inherently a glass-metal contact.

The invention has for its object to provide a spacer profile strip for insulating glass of the type mentioned, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned and still prevents squeezing out of the sealing compound.

According to the invention, this is achieved in that at least one strand of elastic material running in the longitudinal direction of the profile is provided on each side surface to secure the distance between the spacer profile strip and the glass pane and protrudes over the side surfaces by approximately the thickness of the sealing compound to be applied and that the glass panes facing outer surfaces of the strands are convex.

Due to the inventive design of the spacer profile strip, the sealing compound can no longer be squeezed out, since the glass panes, without touching the metallic material of the spacer profile strip, lie against the strands of elastic material and are thus kept at a distance from the spacer profile strip.

Further features and details of the invention emerge from the subclaims and the following description with reference to the drawings. It shows
  • FIG. 1 shows a conventional spacer profile strip with flat side surfaces,
  • FIG. 2 shows a spacer profile strip with concave side surfaces that are curved inwards,
  • Figure 3 shows a spacer profile strip according to the invention and
  • Figure 4 shows another embodiment of a spacer profile strip according to the invention.

In the known embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the spacer profile strip 1 has flat side flanks 3 facing the glass panes 3 with likewise flat side surfaces 4. The side surfaces 4 of the side flanks 3 are coated with sealing compound 5, e.g. Butyl rubber, coated. The sealing compound 5 ensures that the interior of the insulating glass is sealed from water vapor.

The outside edge of the insulating glass, which is delimited by the spacer profile strip 1 and the two glass panes 2, is filled with a sealing compound 6.

In Figure 1 it is indicated that the sealing compound 5 is squeezed out into the interior of the insulating glass and forms beads 7 there. This squeezing out of the sealing compound 5 goes so far that finally the side flanks 3 of the spacer profile strip 1 directly touch the glass panes 2.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the spacer profile strip 8 has inwardly curved side flanks 9 which rest with their edges 10 on the glass panes 2. The sealing compound 5 is introduced between the edges 10.

In the spacer profile strip 8 according to FIG. 2, the sealing compound 5 is prevented from being squeezed out because of the edges 10. However, this spacer profile strip has the disadvantage that glass-metal contacts are inherently present, which lead to clearly audible shear noises when the insulating glass is subjected to mechanical stress and, moreover, represent cold bridges.

In the spacer profile designed according to the invention bar, which is shown in its essential parts in Figure 3, on the side surface 4 of the side flank of the spacer profile strip 1, a strand 11 made of elastic plastic is provided, which has been extruded directly onto the side surface 4, for example. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this strand 11 has an approximately semicircular cross section, the convexly curved surface of the glass pane 2 being turned and the flat side resting on the side surface 4. It can be seen that the arrangement of this strand 11 means that the sealing compound 5 cannot be squeezed out, as in the embodiment of the spacer profile strip according to FIG. 1, since the glass pane 2 is held at a distance of at least 0.3 mm from the side flank 3 by the strand 11. Characterized in that the strand 11, of which several side flanks 3 of the spacer profile strip can also be arranged, is made of elastic material, the cold or sound insulation property of the insulating glass is not adversely affected.

The strand 12 is engaged between ribs 13 and 14, which have been formed from the material of the spacer profile strip 1. Between them, the ribs 13 and 14, which have an approximately crescent-shaped cross section, enclose a flat depression 15, which ensures that the strand 12 is held securely.

Particularly suitable materials for the strand according to the invention are the polyamides, such as Nylon or polyvinyl chloride.
