Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for detecting and / or controlling the edge position of paper webs in corrugated cardboard machines or the like, with an optical sensor device which emits a signal when the edge position of the paper web deviates from a predetermined position.
- the glue insulation walls are with a spindle coupled nut, which sit on a threaded spindle. Motors are mounted on the threaded spindles by means of rotary bearings, which can set the spindle nuts in rotation via a chain or belt drive.
- a pair of photocells is coupled to the glue insulation walls, which are aligned with the edges of the web to be corrugated. In the normal position, one photocell is released and the other is covered.
- a suitable control device generates an adjustment signal for the associated motor, which starts to rotate and drives the spindle nut in order to continue to follow the glue insulation wall of the paper web edge until the described normal position is reached is.
- the device described is relatively imprecise, since the control signal is only qualitative. The moment the only one photo cell is covered, the adjustment of the glue insulation wall is stopped. This means that an exact match between the web edge and the glue insulation wall cannot be achieved. In addition, the mechanical effort for adjusting the glue insulation walls is relatively large.
- a glue applicator is arranged in front of the gluing machine in order to provide glue to the corrugated web coated on one side so that the second cover layer can be connected to it. If the webs are not superimposed in the correct position, glue gets into the gluing machine, which after a certain time can significantly impair its function.
- the cleaning of the gluing machine is complex and requires the entire corrugated cardboard machine to come to a standstill.
- the improperly formed edge of the corrugated cardboard requires that it be cut off accordingly to form a clean edge. This creates a more or less large amount of waste.
- the invention has for its object to provide a device with which an effective detection of the edge position of paper webs in corrugated cardboard machines or the like is possible in order to obtain desired control signals for adjusting the position of webs or glue insulation walls in a glue application device.
- the sensing device has at least one ribbon-shaped optoelectric sensor arranged transversely to the direction of travel of the paper web, which sensor is dependent on the over coverage by the paper web generates a variable analog signal.
- the band-shaped sensor according to the invention forms a so-called light curtain which emits a signal proportional to the respective light beam cover, e.g. in the form of an analog constant current output, and thus provides a quantitative and qualitative statement about the respective web position.
- the signal corresponding to the web edge position serves as a reference variable for position control, e.g. the glue insulation walls so that the glue wetting of the applicator roll is congruent to the web position.
- An embodiment of the invention is characterized by the arrangement of sensors in front of the application unit of a corrugated cardboard system, of which a first sensor is assigned to the web that is corrugated on one side and a second sensor is assigned to the second cover sheet, an adjustment device being assigned to the web that is corrugated on one side in front of the application unit, and further by a comparison device, in which the signal of the second sensor is given as the setpoint value and that of the first sensor as the actual value and which generates an actuating signal for the adjustment device as a function of the control deviation.

- the vacuum brake can also be used to adjust the web laterally with the help of an actuator.
- the position of the second cover sheet serves as a setpoint, which is followed by the position of the corrugated sheet coated on one side with the aid of the vacuum brake. In this way, it is possible to bring the corrugated sheet coated on one side with the second cover sheet in the correct position one above the other in front of the gluing machine, so that virtually any waste is avoided.
- Another embodiment of the invention is characterized by the arrangement of at least one sensor on the insulating wall of a glue application container of a single-sided corrugated cardboard machine, which is adjustable by a servomotor, and by a comparison device into which a desired signal and the actual signal of the sensor are given and which depend on the control deviation Control signal generated for the servomotor.
- the output signal of the band-shaped sensor which is generated, for example, with half an overlap, can serve as the target signal. If the glue insulation wall is adjusted at the beginning so that half the sensor coverage corresponds to the target position, a deviation from the specified coverage is a control deviation that is used for this be able to adjust the adjustment motor for the glue insulation wall until the target overlap has been reached.
- the glue insulation walls can be driven using a spindle drive.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides that the insulating walls are each coupled to a spindle nut and the axially fixed spindle is divided by spindle sections which can be rotated relative to one another and are each driven by an adjusting motor.
- the motors can be positioned in a fixed position.
- the glue insulation walls can be controlled individually or synchronously. The insulation area is only limited by the overall length of the spindle nuts.
- the particular advantage of the invention lies in the qualitative and quantitative Detection of the web edges and the possibility of regulating the glue insulation walls so that an exact positioning can take place.
- ribbon-shaped optoelectric sensors 10, 11 are arranged at a distance L 1 from one another. They are arranged below a paper web 12 of width L 1 .
- the sensors 10, 11 consist, for example, of a series of photodiodes which extend transversely to the direction of travel of the paper web 12. All outputs of the photodiodes go to a common conductor, the signal of which therefore depends on the degree of coverage of the entire sensor 10, 11.
- the paper web 12 lies with the edges in the middle of the sensor 10, 11 In this neutral position, for example, a current I or I 2 is generated. This current changes when the paper web 12 is shifted to the right according to the lower illustration in FIG. 1.
- the extent of the shift ⁇ 1 corresponds to the output current I 1 or I 2 . With the aid of the device shown, a clear statement can thus be made about the position of the web 12.
- the signals from the sensors 10, 11, which represent analog signals, can therefore be used as reference variables or as control variables, as shown below.
- FIG. 2 schematically shows the construction of a corrugated cardboard machine shortly before a gluing machine 13.
- the gluing machine 13 is preceded by an application unit 14 and a roller arrangement 15 for preheating purposes.
- An upper sheet of corrugated cardboard 16 coated on one side is brought over a bridge 17 and passes through a vacuum brake 18. It reaches the application unit via the upper heating roller 19 and then into the gluing machine 13.
- a second sheet of corrugated cardboard 20 coated on one side passes through a vacuum brake 21 and is around the middle one
- the preheating cylinder 22 is deflected and then passes into the application unit 14 and likewise into the pasting machine 13.
- a second cover sheet 23 is likewise fed from the bridge 17 and wraps around the lower preheating cylinder 24 and also reaches the pasting machine 13 via deflection rollers in the order unit 14.
- the optical sensor arrangements 26 to 28 are connected to a computer 29, from which actuating signals for adjusting drives 30 and 31 emanate for the vacuum brakes 18 or ⁇ 21.
- the optical sensor arrangement 28 determines the position of the cover sheet 23, the sensor signal from the sensor arrangement 28 being entered into the computer 29 as a setpoint.
- the computer compares the sensor signals of sensors 26 and 27 with this target signal. If there is no match, the computer 29 generates an adjustment signal to the actuators 30 and 31 for the vacuum brake 18 and 21 in order to bring the web 16 and 20 into agreement with the position of the cover web 23. This ensures that the webs 16, 20 and 23 lie one above the other in the correct position.
- a one-sided machine with the two corrugating rollers and the press roller is indicated extremely schematically.
- the sheet to be corrugated is designated 30 and the cover sheet 31.
- An applicator has a glue roller 32 and an applicator roller 33 as well as a glue container with glue insulation walls that cannot be seen in FIG. 4.
- the application unit is arranged on a carriage 34 which can be adjusted in the direction of the double arrow 35 towards the lower corrugating roller or away from it. In this way can be represented by V ER- displacement of the carriage 34, which rests on rollers or wheels to get a free access to the corrugating rollers.
- a sensor assembly 36 can be seen, which is arranged on a holding arm 37, which in turn is connected to a glue insulation wall.
- the sensor arrangement 36 is directed towards an edge of the web 30 in front of the corrugating rollers and determines the relative position of the sensor arrangement and the web edge, as was described with reference to FIG. 6.
- the normal position or neutral position can be defined, for example, by half covering the paper web on the sensor.
- a setpoint generator 39 according to FIG. 3 therefore sends a corresponding signal to a computer 38, which receives signals both from the sensor arrangement 36 and from the sensor arrangement 36a.
- the computer 38 generates control signals for adjusting motors 40, 41 for the glue insulation walls. If the actual signal of the optical arrangements 36 or 36a deviates from the target value, the computer 38 generates control signals for the adjustment motors 40, 41 in order to adjust the glue insulation walls accordingly to the associated web edge.
- 1 is the Glue container 42 shown in section, in which two glue insulation walls 43 and 44 are arranged.
- the glue insulation walls 43, 44 are connected to spindle nuts 45 and 46, which form on spindle sections 47 and 48 of a threaded spindle extending over the entire width of the glue container 42.
- the spindle sections 47, 48 have bearings 49 and pins 50, respectively, and can therefore be rotated relative to one another.
- the outer ends of the spindle sections 47, 48 are provided with shafts 51 and 52, respectively, which are coupled to the adjusting motors 40, 41 via couplings 53, 54.
- the spindle sections 47, 48 are therefore axially fixed, but rotatably mounted.
- the spindle nuts 45, 46 are non-rotatable and move translationally. With the aid of the adjustment motors 40, 41, the individual glue insulation walls 43, 44 can be adjusted independently of the fixedly arranged motors 40, 41.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for detecting and / or controlling the edge position of paper webs in corrugated cardboard machines or the like, with an optical sensor device which emits a signal when the edge position of the paper web deviates from a predetermined position.
It is known to provide the glue application container with adjustable glue insulation walls in single-sided corrugated cardboard machines in order to adapt the glue application width to the respective position or width of the corrugated web (DE-PS 29 34 496). The glue insulation walls are with a spindle coupled nut, which sit on a threaded spindle. Motors are mounted on the threaded spindles by means of rotary bearings, which can set the spindle nuts in rotation via a chain or belt drive. A pair of photocells is coupled to the glue insulation walls, which are aligned with the edges of the web to be corrugated. In the normal position, one photocell is released and the other is covered. If this is not the case, but both photocells are covered, for example, a suitable control device generates an adjustment signal for the associated motor, which starts to rotate and drives the spindle nut in order to continue to follow the glue insulation wall of the paper web edge until the described normal position is reached is.
The device described is relatively imprecise, since the control signal is only qualitative. The moment the only one photo cell is covered, the adjustment of the glue insulation wall is stopped. This means that an exact match between the web edge and the glue insulation wall cannot be achieved. In addition, the mechanical effort for adjusting the glue insulation walls is relatively large.
Another problem with one-sided corrugated cardboard machines and especially in the area of a corrugated cardboard machine before Gluing machine consists in the fact that the individual sheets come to lie on top of one another in the correct position. If care is not taken, there are several disadvantages. A glue applicator is arranged in front of the gluing machine in order to provide glue to the corrugated web coated on one side so that the second cover layer can be connected to it. If the webs are not superimposed in the correct position, glue gets into the gluing machine, which after a certain time can significantly impair its function. The cleaning of the gluing machine is complex and requires the entire corrugated cardboard machine to come to a standstill. In addition, the improperly formed edge of the corrugated cardboard requires that it be cut off accordingly to form a clean edge. This creates a more or less large amount of waste.
The invention has for its object to provide a device with which an effective detection of the edge position of paper webs in corrugated cardboard machines or the like is possible in order to obtain desired control signals for adjusting the position of webs or glue insulation walls in a glue application device.
This object is achieved in that the sensing device has at least one ribbon-shaped optoelectric sensor arranged transversely to the direction of travel of the paper web, which sensor is dependent on the over coverage by the paper web generates a variable analog signal.
The band-shaped sensor according to the invention forms a so-called light curtain which emits a signal proportional to the respective light beam cover, e.g. in the form of an analog constant current output, and thus provides a quantitative and qualitative statement about the respective web position. The signal corresponding to the web edge position serves as a reference variable for position control, e.g. the glue insulation walls so that the glue wetting of the applicator roll is congruent to the web position.
An embodiment of the invention is characterized by the arrangement of sensors in front of the application unit of a corrugated cardboard system, of which a first sensor is assigned to the web that is corrugated on one side and a second sensor is assigned to the second cover sheet, an adjustment device being assigned to the web that is corrugated on one side in front of the application unit, and further by a comparison device, in which the signal of the second sensor is given as the setpoint value and that of the first sensor as the actual value and which generates an actuating signal for the adjustment device as a function of the control deviation.
In corrugated cardboard sheets, the one-sided coated ge corrugated web in front of the application unit is normally fed to a so-called vacuum brake, which ensures a predetermined tension of the web behind the vacuum brake. The vacuum brake can also be used to adjust the web laterally with the help of an actuator. In the described embodiment, the position of the second cover sheet serves as a setpoint, which is followed by the position of the corrugated sheet coated on one side with the aid of the vacuum brake. In this way, it is possible to bring the corrugated sheet coated on one side with the second cover sheet in the correct position one above the other in front of the gluing machine, so that virtually any waste is avoided.
Another embodiment of the invention is characterized by the arrangement of at least one sensor on the insulating wall of a glue application container of a single-sided corrugated cardboard machine, which is adjustable by a servomotor, and by a comparison device into which a desired signal and the actual signal of the sensor are given and which depend on the control deviation Control signal generated for the servomotor. The output signal of the band-shaped sensor, which is generated, for example, with half an overlap, can serve as the target signal. If the glue insulation wall is adjusted at the beginning so that half the sensor coverage corresponds to the target position, a deviation from the specified coverage is a control deviation that is used for this be able to adjust the adjustment motor for the glue insulation wall until the target overlap has been reached. It goes without saying that any other overlaps can also be used to form the setpoint. Finally, it is alternatively also conceivable to give the size of the output value of the sensor to a positioning drive which, depending on the size of the signal, effects an adjustment by a predetermined path. Positioning drives are known to be more complex than conventional actuators.
As already mentioned, the glue insulation walls can be driven using a spindle drive. In this context, a further embodiment of the invention provides that the insulating walls are each coupled to a spindle nut and the axially fixed spindle is divided by spindle sections which can be rotated relative to one another and are each driven by an adjusting motor. Such a design of the drive for the glue insulation walls has several advantages. Since the spindle nut moves translationally and the spindle sections are rotatably driven, the motors can be positioned in a fixed position. The glue insulation walls can be controlled individually or synchronously. The insulation area is only limited by the overall length of the spindle nuts. However, the particular advantage of the invention lies in the qualitative and quantitative Detection of the web edges and the possibility of regulating the glue insulation walls so that an exact positioning can take place.

The operation of the arrangement according to FIG. 2 results from the illustration according to FIG. 5. From this it can be seen that the
In Fig. 4, a one-sided machine with the two corrugating rollers and the press roller is indicated extremely schematically. The sheet to be corrugated is designated 30 and the
The normal position or neutral position can be defined, for example, by half covering the paper web on the sensor.
