Definitions
- the invention relates to a short inking unit, in particular for printing presses, preferably offset printing presses, which operate with a hard printing form and which have inks approximately corresponding to the viscosity of offset inks, with at least one transfer roller designed as an ink roller which can be supplied with ink by means of a feed device and can be doctored off with a doctor blade arrangement.
- a short inking unit of this type is known from DE-B 31 17 341.
- the inking of the anilox roller which can be doctored off by means of a single doctor blade, is carried out by a thawing in an ink fountain dipping roller.
- This known arrangement has proven itself. In some cases, however, this arrangement can prove to be too space-consuming, since the ink fountain must always be arranged in such a way that it does not engage the dip roller and the doctor blade in order to be able to catch the excess ink.
- This object is achieved in that at least two doctor blades offset from one another in the circumferential direction of the anilox roller are provided per anilox roller, both of which preferably lie against the periphery of the anilox roller with a negative angle of attack and which limit an ink chamber in the circumferential direction which is closed at the end by sealing jaws resting on the anilox roller, and in that In the region of the walls of the ink chamber, at least one inflow opening, which can preferably be connected pressure-tight to a paint source, and at least one overflow opening are provided.
- the behind the doctor blade in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller practically pre-squeegees to remove residues present on the peripheral section of the anilox roller returning from the gap between the anilox roller and applicator roller in the form of residual ink, water that has got into the inking unit, and paper dust, etc., being ensured due to the preferably negative employment is that a function independent of the speed of the anilox roller and free of hydrodynamic interferences and thus a lubrication film-free doctoring and reliable removal of the water are guaranteed, which can improve the affinity of the anilox roller for new ink and thus the filling of the wells and thus advantageously affects the smoothness of the color flow.
- the doctor blade which is in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller, can be covered by a discharge channel provided outside the ink chamber, preferably with a slope. This can collect and discharge material stripped from the anilox roller.
- a further advantageous measure can consist in that the doctor blade at the rear in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller has at least one overflow opening spaced from the doctor edge, preferably several overflow openings distributed over its length.
- Another expedient embodiment can consist in that a doctor blade holder receiving the two doctor blades is provided with at least one overflow opening, preferably a plurality of overflow openings, arranged in the area between the two doctor blades. This results in a simple design of the doctor blades. Both doctor blades can be of the same design.
- a further, particularly preferred measure can consist in the fact that the doctor blade holder receiving the two doctor blades has a distribution chamber which is continuous over its length and from which a plurality of inflow holes distributed over the length extend. This measure ensures a particularly uniform filling of the ink chamber over its entire length and thus a particularly uniform ink supply to the anilox roller.
- the inflow bores can be provided in an application bar arranged in the area between the two doctor blades and lying on the circumference of the anilox roller and open into a groove-shaped pocket of the application bar that is open towards the anilox roller.
- the longitudinal edges of the application bar cause a pre-metering, which can relieve the doctor blade in the direction of rotation.
- the pocket of the application bar can expediently have a cross section which tapers in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller. Due to the resulting positive inclination of the wiping edge, a comparatively thick ink film can build up on the anilox roller.
- a further advantageous measure can consist in that the application bar / piston-like can be extended from the squeegee holder, which enables a resilient contact pressure and thus an automatic adjustment.
- the overflow opening can be used to further relieve the pressure on the doctor blade front in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller or openings are advantageously arranged in the area between the applicator roller and the front doctor blade.
- a bearing block provided with guide grooves receiving their side edges can be provided in each case to accommodate the sealing jaws.
- This measure enables a piston-shaped adjustment of the sealing jaws.
- the guide grooves can expediently be open on their end faces, which enables the sealing jaws to be inserted easily.
- a further expedient measure can consist in that the sealing jaws are engaged by an abutment at least in the area of the doctor blade arranged at the front in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller. This measure enables a gapless face adjustment of the sealing jaws and thus an excellent face seal.
- the sealing jaws can simply have a bevel in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller, which is close to the circumference, in the direction of rotation at an acute angle from the outer edge to the inside, which practically acts as a deflecting edge.
- a plurality, at least two, preferably one of the number of the number of printing cylinders provided over the length of a forme cylinder can be provided over the length of the anilox roller plates corresponding number of doctor holders each containing an ink chamber can be provided. This measure facilitates a supply of ink limited to a certain length of the anilox roller.
- inking of the anilox roller can be achieved before it runs onto the pre-doctor blade, which results in excellent protection of the pre-doctor blade even in the event of a negative employment.
- doctor blades are not pinched, but are loosely placed in an associated receiving groove. This ensures that the doctor blades can expand laterally in the event of heating and accordingly do not bulge even with a comparatively adjusting force, which also has an advantageous effect on reducing wear.
- a scoop roller preferably driven against the anilox roller, can be provided between the two doctor blades.
- the scoop roller which can advantageously be designed as a steel roller, is expediently driven via a toothed ring cut into its circumference, into which a drive wheel connected to a motor engages.
- the short inking unit on which FIG. 1 is based consists of a rubberized applicator roller 2 cooperating with a plate cylinder 1 covered with hard offset printing plates and having the same diameter as the plate cylinder and an anilox roller 3 interacting with the applicator roller 2.
- this works Applicator roller 2 together with a dampening unit designated as a whole by 4.
- the circumference of the anilox roller 3, which is made of steel, is provided with cups 5 indicated in FIG. 1 and the webs 6 delimiting them. The cups 5 are filled with paint, the webs 6 are scraped off, so that there is an exact dosage of the paint corresponding to the capacity of the cups 5.
- the ink supply to the anilox roller 3 and the doctoring take place by means of a chamber doctor blade arrangement designated as a whole in FIG.
- a plurality of chamber doctor blade arrangements arranged next to one another for example two chamber doctor blade arrangements 7 each comprising half a roller length, can be provided over the length of the anilox roller 3.
- the use of a plurality of chamber doctor blade arrangements arranged side by side facilitates handling and enables the ink supply of the anilox roller 3 to be shut down zone by zone.
- the chambered doctor blade arrangement 7 comprises, as can best be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, a bar-shaped doctor holder 9 which can be received on supports 8 fixed to the frame, on which two doctor blades 11 and 12, which are offset from one another in the direction of rotation of the associated anilox roller 3 and are held by jaws 10, are accommodated.
- the doctor blades 11 and 12 can be clamped using the jaws 10.
- the jaws 10 together with the doctor holder 9 are intended to limit a holding slot into which the doctor blades 11, 12 can be inserted loosely, ie without clamping.
- the holding slot mentioned has a clear width which is approximately 3 / 100mm to 4/100 mm above the thickness of the doctor blade assigned in each case.
- This unclamped arrangement of the doctor blades 11 and 12 ensures that the doctor blades can expand in their longitudinal direction, provided that heating occurs during operation. As a result of this degree of freedom of the doctor blades, it is achieved that the doctor blades remain straight in the event of heating.
- the doctor pressure can accordingly be comparatively small, which has a favorable effect on the avoidance of wear.
- the loose doctor blade arrangement simplifies the change of doctor blade.
- the residues wiped off the doctor blade 11 are collected by a drainage channel 14 which underneath it and which is arranged at a gradient.
- the doctor blade in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 functions as the main doctor blade, which, after the inking of the circumference of the anilox roller 3, has taken place scrapes the webs 6.
- the two doctor blades 11, 12 offset from one another form the rear and front boundaries of an ink chamber 13 in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3, the radial boundaries of which are formed by the doctor blade holder 9 or the circumference of the anilox roller 3.
- the ink chamber 3 is closed on the face side by further sealing jaws described in more detail below.
- the squeegee blades 11, 12 can be arranged symmetrically to an imaginary central longitudinal plane if the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 is reversible, and as can best be seen from FIG. 7, inclined roof-like with respect to one another, so that in any case the squeegee blade acting as the main doctor blade is negative , d. H. with the circumferential section lying behind in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3, an obtuse angle including employment is present on the circumference of the anilox roller 3.
- both doctor blades 11, 12 rest against the circumference of the anilox roller 3 with a negative angle of attack, the direction of rotation indicated by an arrow cannot be reversed here.
- the negative setting of the two doctor blades 11, 12 ensures that hydrodynamic interference does not occur in the area of the main doctor blade as well as in the area of the pre-doctor blade, even at high speeds of rotation of the anilox roller 3.
- the front doctor blade 12 in the direction of rotation can be set somewhat steeper than the rear doctor blade 11, which has given good results in tests.
- the ink chamber 13 is supplied with ink.
- the ink chamber 13 in the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3 connectable to a paint pump 16 in a pressure-tight manner by means of a supply line 15 which is only indicated schematically.
- the doctor blade holder 9 can be provided with an inflow bore opening into the ink chamber 13, via which the supply line 15 is connected directly to the ink chamber 13.
- the doctor blade holder 9 is provided with a distributor chamber 17 formed by an axial bore, which can be supplied with paint via an outwardly threaded bore 18, to which the supply line 15 can be connected in a pressure-tight manner, and of which several, via the Length of the doctor blade holder 9 distributed, flowing into the ink chamber 13 outflow bores 19 depart. This ensures a particularly uniform filling of the ink chamber 13 over its entire length.
- a distributor chamber 17 accommodated in the doctor holder 9 is also provided.
- This is designed as a groove-shaped recess in the doctor blade holder 9, which is closed on the roll side by an application bar 20 which is accommodated in a floating manner and which lies in the area between the two doctor blade blades 11 and 12 on the circumference of the anilox roller 3.
- the application bar 20 is provided with a plurality of inflow bores 19a distributed over its length. These flow into one in the area of the roller-side upper Surface of the application bar 20 provided in the longitudinal direction through pocket 21.
- the pocket 21 has a cross section tapering in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3.
- the front edge 22 of the application bar 20 in the direction of rotation accordingly acts as a positive wiping edge which, however, can be passed through by a thick ink film due to the hydrohynamic forces which become effective as a result of its positive position.
- the applicator bar 20, which is arranged in a floating manner in the recess forming the distribution chamber 17, can be extended in a piston-like manner by means of the color print on its underside.
- the extension of the application bar 20 is supported by a spring 23 which engages under it and is supported on the doctor holder 9.
- the distribution chamber 17 is in turn accessible from the outside via a connection bore 18 opening outwards.
- the ink pump 16 circulates the ink, the ink in the ink chamber 13 being present with a slight overpressure, which ensures good filling of the cells 5.
- excess ink is discharged through one or more overflow openings.
- these overflow openings can be designed as bore-shaped recesses 24 of the rear doctor blade 12, which are spaced from the doctor edge.
- the excess ink emerging via the recesses 24 is derived from the discharge channel 14 which underlies the doctor blade 11.
- the squeegee holder 9 can also have one or more on the distribution chamber 17 and the connection bore 18 passing overflow bores of the type indicated in FIG.
- overflow bores 25 are arranged near the rear corner of the ink chamber 13 in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3.
- overflow openings 25a are provided near the front corner of the ink chamber 13 in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 and are formed by outwardly opening bores of the squeegee holder 9, to which a pressure-free return line 26 can be connected .
- the placement of the overflow openings 25a in the area adjacent to the doctor blade 12 results in a relief of this doctor blade.
- the anilox roller 3 can be coated with ink before it reaches the doctor blade 11 acting as a pre-doctor are applied, which is then doctored off by the doctor blade 11 immediately.
- the excess paint emerging from the ink chamber 13 can be used.
- These are plate-shaped elements with a concave edge contour corresponding to the circumference of the anilox roller 3.
- the sealing jaws 27 are each received in a bearing block 28 fastened to the doctor holder 9, which is provided with parallel guide grooves 29 for receiving the side edges of the sealing jaws 27.
- the guide grooves 29 are open at the end, ie on the side facing the anilox roller 3 and on the opposite side, so that the plate-shaped sealing jaws 27 in the exemplary embodiment shown can simply be inserted from below, which facilitates assembly.
- the bearing blocks 28 are each provided in an approximately centrally arranged guide tube 30, which is gripped by a prestressed spring 31 and which engages under the associated sealing jaw 27 or, as in the illustrated embodiment with an engaging under or into an associated recess of the sealing jaw in question 27 engaging driver 33, is provided here in the form of a radial pin guided out of the guide tube 31 via an elongated hole.
- the sealing jaws 27 can be pressed with their area emerging from the guide grooves 29 onto the doctor blades 11 and 12 on the end face.
- a respective associated sealing jaw 27 is provided in the region of the abutment 34 which engages behind the doctor blade 12 in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 and which is accommodated in an adjustable manner across an associated holding arm 35 of the bearing block 28 concerned.
- the abutment 34 is simply designed as a tab which is fastened to a guide pin 36 which slidably engages in an associated bore of the holding arm 35 and can be locked by means of a clamping screw 37.
- the sealing jaws 27 are provided in the area of their corner close to the circumference in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 with a bevel 38 which is indicated in FIG. 4 and is shown enlarged in FIG. 6 and extends at an acute angle from the outer edge to the inside. This practically results in a deflecting edge, which in the area of the sealing jaw 27 on the grid roller 3 developing color strips decreases and leads inwards into the effective area of the doctor blades.
- the two doctor blades 11, 12, as others have already been mentioned above and FIG. 7 clearly shows, are arranged symmetrically with respect to a central longitudinal plane passing through the axis of the anilox roller 3 and are inclined in a roof-like manner towards one another.
- This symmetrical arrangement makes it possible to reverse the direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3.
- the illustrated embodiment is based on a direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 in the clockwise direction.
- the doctor blade 12, which acts as a working doctor blade has a negative position relative to the anilox roller 3.
- the doctor blade 11, which acts as a preliminary doctor blade, on the other hand, has a positive attitude. The same applies to the opposite direction of rotation. In this case, too, the doctor blade at the rear in the direction of rotation is negative and the doctor blade at the front in the direction of rotation is positioned positively.
- the scoop roller 42 in the ink chamber 13 delimited by the two doctor blades 11, 12, which rests on the circumference of the anilox roller 3 over the entire length of the ink chamber 13.
- the scoop roller 42 can be designed as a rubber or metal roller. In the illustrated embodiment, a steel version is used.
- the scoop roller 42 ensures that a circulation of the ink with excess pressure in the ink chamber 13 can be omitted. Rather, a comparatively small filling in the ink fountain is sufficient. Nevertheless, the scoop roller 42 ensures reliable, bubble-free filling of the cups of the anilox roller. As a result of the omission of the color circulation, comparatively little color is used here, which is particularly desirable in the production of smaller impression areas.
- the scoop roller 42 extends over the entire length of the respectively assigned ink chamber 13 and rests with its end faces, as can best be seen from FIG. 8, against the sealing jaws 27.
- half-shells 43 are provided in the ink chamber 13, in which the scoop roller 42 is inserted.
- the half-shells 43 like the sealing jaws 27, can be adjusted in the radial direction with respect to the anilox roller 3, so that in any case a reliable contact of the scoop roller 42 on the anilox roller 3 can be achieved.
- the half-shells 43 are guided through slotted pins 44 arranged in the squeegee holder 9 and are gripped by a set screw 45 which engages in the ink chamber 13 and can be actuated from the outside.
- the adjusting screw 45 does not engage directly on the associated one Half shell 43 on. Rather, an extension pin 46 engaging on the half-shell 43 is provided, which is supported on the adjusting screw 45 via a spring 47.
- the scoop roller 42 inserted with its circumference into the half-shells 43 is driven in the illustrated embodiment by means of a drive motor 48 which is flanged onto the doctor holder 9.
- the drive motor 48 can be reversed so that the scoop roller 42 can be driven in every direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3 in such a way that smooth movements result in the contact area, so that the ink is drawn into the contact slot.
- the peripheral speed of the scoop roller 42 is, however, significantly lower than the peripheral speed of the anilox roller 3 corresponding to the web speed.
- the scoop roller 42 To drive the scoop roller 42, the latter is provided with a worm gear ring 49, which is arranged in its circumference and has an approximately medium length, into which a worm gear rim 49 is arranged Auger 50 engages, which is connected to the drive motor 48 via a shaft 51 led out of the ink chamber 13.
- the shaft 51 is sealed against a pipe inserted into the doctor holder 9, to which the drive motor 48 can be flanged, by means of a sealing ring 52, which is gripped by a spring and bears against the lower end face of the upright screw 50.
- Driving the scoop roller 42 via a toothed ring cut into its circumference results in a simple construction even in the case of a plurality of ink chambers 13 arranged next to one another.
- the doctor blade 11 which has been doctored off by the anilox roller from the mode of operation on which the FIG. 7 is based, acts as a doctor blade and is collected and drained off in a groove 53 formed on the doctor blade holder 9.
- the groove 53 is connected to the ink chamber 13 via a drain hole 54, so that the ink doctored by the anilox roller 3 is returned to the ink chamber 13.
- the scoop roller 42 provided in the ink chamber 13 causes the returning ink loaded with impurities to mix well with the new ink.
- a channel connected to the ink chamber 13 is also provided in the area of the opposite doctor blade 12, which acts as a pre-doctor in the opposite direction of rotation of the anilox roller 3, so that full reversibility is ensured.
- the ink chamber 13 is without pressure in the present embodiment, i. H. the color is not under pressure. No paint pump is therefore required. Rather, the paint can be poured into the paint chamber 13.
- a filling funnel 55 which is indicated on the left in FIG. 7 and is molded onto the doctor holder 9, is provided and is connected to the ink chamber 13.
- the present arrangement accordingly works with comparatively little color, which leads in particular to excellent economy where only small areas are to be printed, for example in impression works.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a short inking unit, in particular for printing presses, preferably offset printing presses, which operate with a hard printing form and which have inks approximately corresponding to the viscosity of offset inks, with at least one transfer roller designed as an ink roller which can be supplied with ink by means of a feed device and can be doctored off with a doctor blade arrangement.
A short inking unit of this type is known from DE-B 31 17 341. In this known arrangement, the inking of the anilox roller, which can be doctored off by means of a single doctor blade, is carried out by a thawing in an ink fountain dipping roller. This known arrangement has proven itself. In some cases, however, this arrangement can prove to be too space-consuming, since the ink fountain must always be arranged in such a way that it does not engage the dip roller and the doctor blade in order to be able to catch the excess ink.
Proceeding from this, it is therefore the object of the present invention to improve an arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset with simple and inexpensive means in such a way that a space-saving design can be achieved and nevertheless reliable filling of the cups of the anilox roller is ensured.
This object is achieved in that at least two doctor blades offset from one another in the circumferential direction of the anilox roller are provided per anilox roller, both of which preferably lie against the periphery of the anilox roller with a negative angle of attack and which limit an ink chamber in the circumferential direction which is closed at the end by sealing jaws resting on the anilox roller, and in that In the region of the walls of the ink chamber, at least one inflow opening, which can preferably be connected pressure-tight to a paint source, and at least one overflow opening are provided.
These measures advantageously result in an integration of the ink feed device into the doctor blade arrangement, which guarantees a compact construction which ensures a high degree of freedom of movement in terms of placement. At the same time, the measures according to the invention also ensure that they operate at high operating speeds high accuracy. The behind the doctor blade in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller practically pre-squeegees to remove residues present on the peripheral section of the anilox roller returning from the gap between the anilox roller and applicator roller in the form of residual ink, water that has got into the inking unit, and paper dust, etc., being ensured due to the preferably negative employment is that a function independent of the speed of the anilox roller and free of hydrodynamic interferences and thus a lubrication film-free doctoring and reliable removal of the water are guaranteed, which can improve the affinity of the anilox roller for new ink and thus the filling of the wells and thus advantageously affects the smoothness of the color flow. In addition, due to the pre-doctoring with a negative angle of attack, it is ensured that no disruptive particles such as dust etc. can get under the second doctor blade, which is in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller, and which brings about the doctoring of the webs and filling of the cells, so that the doctor blade arrangement swings in generally can be dispensed with, which simplifies the construction. Nevertheless, due to the negative squeegee setting of the second squeegee blade and the doctoring of the webs free of hydrodynamic interferences, a high dosing accuracy is achieved. Another advantage of the measures according to the invention can be seen in the fact that the ink chamber can be subjected to a slight overpressure, which can likewise have an advantageous effect on reliable filling of the cells. However, due to the existing overflow opening, there is an undesirable pressure increase from the front stopped in. At the same time, this results in a certain color cycle, which results in a good mixing of old color and new color.
In an advantageous further development of the superordinate measures, the doctor blade, which is in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller, can be covered by a discharge channel provided outside the ink chamber, preferably with a slope. This can collect and discharge material stripped from the anilox roller.
A further advantageous measure can consist in that the doctor blade at the rear in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller has at least one overflow opening spaced from the doctor edge, preferably several overflow openings distributed over its length. This measure allows a simple design of the doctor blade holder receiving the doctor blade. At the same time, this results in an intensive mixing of overflow ink with material stripped from the anilox roller, so that local dirt accumulations are excluded even in the case of an ink cycle.
Another expedient embodiment can consist in that a doctor blade holder receiving the two doctor blades is provided with at least one overflow opening, preferably a plurality of overflow openings, arranged in the area between the two doctor blades. This results in a simple design of the doctor blades. Both doctor blades can be of the same design.
A further, particularly preferred measure can consist in the fact that the doctor blade holder receiving the two doctor blades has a distribution chamber which is continuous over its length and from which a plurality of inflow holes distributed over the length extend. This measure ensures a particularly uniform filling of the ink chamber over its entire length and thus a particularly uniform ink supply to the anilox roller.
In a further development of the superordinate measures, the inflow bores can be provided in an application bar arranged in the area between the two doctor blades and lying on the circumference of the anilox roller and open into a groove-shaped pocket of the application bar that is open towards the anilox roller. The longitudinal edges of the application bar cause a pre-metering, which can relieve the doctor blade in the direction of rotation.
The pocket of the application bar can expediently have a cross section which tapers in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller. Due to the resulting positive inclination of the wiping edge, a comparatively thick ink film can build up on the anilox roller.
A further advantageous measure can consist in that the application bar / piston-like can be extended from the squeegee holder, which enables a resilient contact pressure and thus an automatic adjustment.
The overflow opening can be used to further relieve the pressure on the doctor blade front in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller or openings are advantageously arranged in the area between the applicator roller and the front doctor blade.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the superordinate measures, a bearing block provided with guide grooves receiving their side edges can be provided in each case to accommodate the sealing jaws. This measure enables a piston-shaped adjustment of the sealing jaws. The guide grooves can expediently be open on their end faces, which enables the sealing jaws to be inserted easily.
A further expedient measure can consist in that the sealing jaws are engaged by an abutment at least in the area of the doctor blade arranged at the front in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller. This measure enables a gapless face adjustment of the sealing jaws and thus an excellent face seal.
To remove the corresponding color strip in the area of the sealing jaws on the anilox roller, the sealing jaws can simply have a bevel in the direction of rotation of the anilox roller, which is close to the circumference, in the direction of rotation at an acute angle from the outer edge to the inside, which practically acts as a deflecting edge.
In a further development of the superordinate measures, a plurality, at least two, preferably one of the number of the number of printing cylinders provided over the length of a forme cylinder can be provided over the length of the anilox roller plates corresponding number of doctor holders each containing an ink chamber can be provided. This measure facilitates a supply of ink limited to a certain length of the anilox roller.
By an ink chamber arranged upstream of the ink chamber, which is preferably acted upon by overflow ink emerging from the ink chamber, inking of the anilox roller can be achieved before it runs onto the pre-doctor blade, which results in excellent protection of the pre-doctor blade even in the event of a negative employment.
Another useful measure can be that the doctor blades are not pinched, but are loosely placed in an associated receiving groove. This ensures that the doctor blades can expand laterally in the event of heating and accordingly do not bulge even with a comparatively adjusting force, which also has an advantageous effect on reducing wear.
In a further development of the superordinate measures, a scoop roller, preferably driven against the anilox roller, can be provided between the two doctor blades. This makes a circulation of the ink as well as an overpressure in the ink chamber unnecessary and nevertheless guarantees a reliable, bubble-free filling of the cells of the anilox roller. The scoop roller, which can advantageously be designed as a steel roller, is expediently driven via a toothed ring cut into its circumference, into which a drive wheel connected to a motor engages.
Further expedient refinements and advantageous developments of the superordinate measures result from the following description of an exemplary embodiment using the drawing in conjunction with the remaining subclaims.

The short inking unit on which FIG. 1 is based consists of a
The chambered
The
The
To ink the
In the exemplary embodiment on which FIG. 2 is based, the
In the example on which FIG. 3 is based, a
The
In order to protect the
The front side of the
The sealing
It would also be conceivable to support the
The sealing
Particularly good results can be achieved if the tip formed by the
The basic structure of the arrangement according to FIGS. 7 and 8 corresponds to the above-described embodiments. In the following description, therefore, only the differences are essentially dealt with, the same reference numerals being used for the same parts.
In this further embodiment, the two
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, there is a
The
The
The
