Abstract

In the case of discharge devices (1) for operating double cartridges (10) with a holding flange (11), a front-side link guide (4) with a one-sided insertion opening (9) is provided for the holding flange. There is the problem of ensuring effective anchoring between the device and the cartridge in order to prevent deformation of the holding flange (11) or the entire cartridge (1) if the two discharge plungers (5) of the device are removed from the device front (5) to discharge the contents of the cartridge. 3) are moved out and advance the delivery pistons inserted in the cartridge cylinders (12). For this purpose, the link guide (4) is continuous on both sides of a straight line (8), which connects the centers of both plungers (5), and the insertion opening (9) extends transversely to said straight line (8). In the case of plungers (5) arranged side by side in the device (1), the insertion opening (9) is located on one side edge, in the case of plungers arranged one above the other, however, advantageously on the upper edge of the device front. In contrast to the prior art, thanks to the new link guide (4), it is possible to reduce the size of the cartridge flange (11) by side sections (13) and even securely anchor individual cylinders (12) with separate flanges.

Description

The invention relates to a discharge device for operating double cartridges provided with a holding flange, which has a front link guide with a one-sided insertion opening for receiving the holding flange and two discharge plungers which can be moved out of the front of the device in parallel axis.

In the case of a discharge device of this type belonging to the prior art (see, for example, EP-A 0 252 401 = case K 112), the two discharge plungers are arranged next to one another in the device, and the insertion opening of the slide guide is located at the upper edge of the device front. Thus, the double cartridges with their essentially rectangular retaining flange are inserted from above into the guide and the flange is then gripped on the lower long side and the two narrow sides, while the upper long side of the flange remains free. As a result of the relatively wide insertion opening - it must at least accommodate the diameters of the two adjacent storage cylinders of the double cartridge - a solid anchoring of the cartridge on the dispensing device is hardly achieved, although it should be noted that this anchoring during the material discharge when the plunger pushes the delivery pistons in the cartridge cylinders act, is exposed to considerable loads. The resulting bending of the flange and deformation of the cartridge as a whole can lead to disruptions in the material discharge; Thus, with gradual discharge, the elastic bending causes undesired idle strokes at the ram then shocks and adversely affects the immediate relief of the delivery pistons due to springback, as was proposed in the above-mentioned published application. In particular, the anchoring proves to be insufficient if the two cartridge cylinders are longitudinally separated from one another, ie are practically only connected to one another via the holding flange and in the mouth area. A certain remedy - if at all - is only possible with the known device design by thickening or stiffening (ribbing) of the cartridge holding flange. However, this increases the material and manufacturing costs for the cartridges, which is highly undesirable for these disposable parts intended for single use.

The present invention has for its object to achieve a perfect, highly resilient anchoring between discharge device and exchangeable cartridges by suitable device training and without additional effort in the cartridges.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a discharge device of the type mentioned in that the link guide is continuous on both sides of the straight line connecting the centers of both rams and the insertion opening extends transversely to this straight line. As a result, both longitudinal sides of the holding flange are gripped continuously in the link guide and only one narrow side, corresponding to a single cylinder diameter, remains free at the correspondingly short insertion opening. A simple measure and without additional effort on the device thus results in a significantly improved, "narrow" cartridge holder, which practically prevents disruptive deformations. Preferred variants, namely lateral insertion with plungers arranged side by side in the device or insertion from above with plungers arranged one above the other, are specified in claims 2 and 3. With a special design of the link guide according to claim 4, surprisingly, there is even the possibility of the holding flange of the cartridge being smaller than To date, and thus to achieve savings in material, storage and transport volume on these disposable parts.

A 0 252 401 = Fall K 112).The discharge device 1 according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is used for the interchangeable reception and operation of double cartridges 10, one of which is shown ready for insertion next to the device in FIG. 1. Such double cartridges 10, which are known per se, have a generally rectangular holding flange 11, from which two (shown broken off) parallel hollow cylinders 12 originate. The two cylinders of the cartridge 10 are used for the separate storage and distribution of two generally pasty or viscous masses, components of a so-called two-component system, which are mixed together when they are discharged from the cartridge cylinders for use. For the purpose of discharging the masses from the two cylinders 12, each cylinder contains a delivery piston (not shown), which is loaded by a discharge plunger 5 of the Ge advises 1 is determined (see also EP-A 0 252 401 = case K 112).

The discharge device 1 has a device body 2, with which a handle 6 is firmly connected. An actuating handle 7 is articulated on the device body in the area of the handle 6, which acts on the two plungers 5 via a mechanism (not shown here) inside the device body 2. The plungers 5 are in their initial position, i.e. recessed in the device body 2, shown. When the handle 7 is actuated, they are moved out of the front of the device 3 in parallel and pressed against the delivery pistons of an inserted cartridge 10, whereby these delivery pistons are advanced and the cartridge contents are discharged. To accommodate the holding flange 11 of a double cartridge, a link guide 4 is provided on the device front 3. To slide a cartridge 10 in and out, the link guide has an insertion opening 9 which, in the device embodiment shown with plungers 5 arranged next to one another, is located on a (left or right) side edge of the device front 3. The insertion opening 9 thus extends transversely to a straight line 8 which connects the centers of the two plungers 5. The link guide 4 is continuous on both sides of the straight line 8 mentioned, and at its end opposite the insertion opening 9 it forms a stop for positioning the holding flange 11.

As shown, the front recess 4a is preferably shaped as a semicircle corresponding to the circumference of a cartridge cylinder 12, as shown, the guide 4 itself ending tangentially to the semicircle.

The retaining flange 11 of an inserted double cartridge 10 is thus gripped continuously by the link guide 4 on one narrow side and on both long sides; only the second narrow side is exposed over a distance corresponding to the diameter of a single cartridge cylinder. This results in a very stable connection between the device and the cartridge, which can also withstand high loads withstand the advance of the two discharge plungers without any significant deformation of the flange or the cartridge.

In devices of known design, in which the link guide comprises only one long side, but both narrow sides of the holding flange, the flange must necessarily protrude on both narrow sides by sections 13 beyond the cylinder outer diameter, as is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 1. With the aforementioned, preferred design of the front recess 4a and the stop end of the link guide, these sections 13 can be omitted, i.e. the holding flange 11 can be tangential and flush with the cartridge cylinders 12 on its two narrow sides. Thus, the present design of the slide guide allows material savings to be made on the disposable cartridge 10 in large quantities and as cheaply as possible. On the other hand, the present slide guide can of course also be designed to accommodate conventional double cartridges with lateral sections 13 protruding from the holding flange.

Finally, the present design of the discharge device also enables individual, i.e. separate cartridge cylinders, each provided with a holding flange, in pairs or individually (for one-component systems), which would be completely ruled out for devices according to the prior art.

The discharge device 20 according to FIG. 3 is provided in a manner known per se for compressed air drive. Accordingly, the device body is essentially formed by a cylinder / piston unit 22. A compressed air connection 21 is located at the bottom on the handle 26 connected to the device front 23, in which a compressed air control valve (not visible) to be actuated by the handle 27 is installed. The two discharge plungers 25, which can be moved out of the device front 23 in parallel axis, are not ( ) piston connected inside the device body 22 and here arranged vertically one above the other in the device. The insertion opening 29 of the link guide 24 is in this plunger arrangement on the upper edge of the device front 23; it in turn extends transversely to the straight line 28, which connects the centers of both plungers 25. The link guide 24 is continuous on both sides of the straight line 28 and in the lower region is preferably designed in accordance with the first exemplary embodiment in that the front recess 24a forms a semicircle which is adapted to the circumference of a cartridge cylinder and the guide 24 extends tangentially to this semicircle at the lower end.

Double cartridges 10 are inserted into the discharge device 20 from above, naturally with the longitudinal sides of the holding flange 11 standing vertically, i.e. in a position rotated by 90 ° with respect to FIG. 1. With regard to the perfect anchoring of the double cartridges in the link guide 24, design options for the link guide and the cartridge holding flange and options for inserting independent individual cartridges, the same applies as described in connection with the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

Hierbei entsteht wiederum eine einwandfrei kraftschlüssige Verankerung des Halteflansches, wie sie nach dem Stand der Technik nicht möglich wäre.4, a discharge device 30 can also be designed according to the same principle for the reception and operation of double cartridges 10 ', the two cylinders 12' of unequal diameter and the retaining flange 11 'accordingly corresponding to that shown Outlines. The device - here with the discharge plungers 35 one above the other and the insertion opening 39 arranged on the upper edge of the device front 33 - then receives a link guide 34 which is symmetrical to the straight line 38 connecting the two plunger centers, but with the sections on both sides corresponding to the shape of the flange 11 'against one another are inclined. The front recess 34a is expediently shaped so that it touches both cylinders 12 'laterally on the cartridge used and is guided around the smaller cylinder at the bottom. Here in turn, there is a perfectly non-positive anchoring of the retaining flange, which would not be possible according to the prior art.

It should also be mentioned that for the present invention, such a holding flange, which is integrally connected to the cartridge cylinders, is not necessarily required on the double cartridges; A loose (e.g. reusable, essentially rectangular) flange plate with through openings for the cylinders would also be conceivable, which would then only be provided with narrow ring flanges for contact with the flange plate.
