Abstract

The invention relates to an electromagnetically controlled safe deposit box lock having an encodable clearance signal, a single keyhole orifice and a handle mounted in this orifice and intended for actuating the main bolt, the lock case having, in addition to a locking mechanism equipped with tumblers, an emergency bolt mounted under the main bolt. The object of the invention is to provide a lock of this type of versatile use which has a closed case rear side and the monitoring and control elements of which are easily accessible. This object is achieved in that the emergency bolt carries the turn pin of the locking mechanism, in that a sheave actuated by the handle via a closing shaft drives the main bolt and a blocking slide, in that the blocking slide carries a turn pin which is coupled to the main bolt and in the path of which is located a control lever interacting with an electromagnetically controlled blocking lever, in that the electromagnet is fastened to the bottom of the lock case, and in that the emergency bolt, actuatable by a coded emergency key after the removal of the closing shaft, detains the blocking lever in its return travel, with the result that the emergency-bolt turn pin is released and the main bolt shifts into the open position. <IMAGE>

In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the lock housing, the left end of which has a bolt opening 1a. Four through holes 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e serve to fasten the lock. These holes are housed in stable cast columns. In addition, smaller threaded holes 1f, 1g, 1h, 1i, 1j, 1k are provided, which are used to fasten the cover.

The key pin 2 is inserted in the housing base, and also a very strong bearing pin 3 for the tumbler package. A molded bridge 1m serves as a guide bar for the emergency bolt. In the right half of the housing a mandrel 4 is provided for the locking lever. Another mandrel 5 has the task of holding the electromagnet 6. A molded-on mandrel 7 serves as a suspension point for a tension spring which is connected to a key catch 8 according to FIG. 2.

The key catch 8 is slidably supported via an elongated hole 8a. In the right part there is a recess 8b in which the key bit is held in two preferred positions. A coil spring 9 pulls the key catch 8 to the right.

Der Wirbel 10 wird um den Dorn 1n geschwenkt und übersetzt die Bewegung des Schlüsselbartes in einen größeren Riegelweg.3 shows the vortex 10, which has a bearing bore 10a at the bottom, a key control curve 10b in the middle and a driver pin 10c at the top. The vertebra 10 is pivoted around the mandrel 1n and translates the movement of the key bit into a larger bolt path.

In Fig. 5a, the locking bridge 14 is shown in side view, in Fig. 5b in plan view.

It consists of a punched and folded sheet metal part, which connects the vertebra 10 non-positively to the locking slide 11. The mandrel 10c engages in the elongated hole 14a and the mandrel 12 in the elongated hole 14b.

Eine Schraubenfeder 25 versucht, Steuer- und Sperrhebel zusammenzuhalten.FIG. 6 shows the interaction of the locking slide 11 with the control lever 15 and the locking lever 16. The armature 16a of the locking lever is opposite an electromagnet 6 fixed to the housing. In the position shown, the tour pin 13 of the locking slide 11 rests in a recess 15a of the control lever 15 Gate valve 11 can not be moved to the right. Since it is coupled to the main bolt, it is locked. When the armature 16a is held, the control pin 17 connected to the locking slide 11 pushes the locking lever 16 upwards, the control lever 15 also being pivoted over the bearing pin 18. The axis of rotation for the control lever 15 is the bearing mandrel 4 fixed to the housing. A helical spring 25 tries to hold the control and locking levers together.

For a further explanation of the function of the electromagnetic control, reference is made to the patent mentioned at the beginning.

Fig. 8 shows the emergency bolt 19, which is mounted in the housing above the swivel 10 and the control lever 15. At the left end, this bolt carries a tour pin 20 which engages in the tumbler package through the main bolt.
A key control curve is designated by 19a. In the middle there is an elongated hole 19b through which the mandrel 3 extends. Another slot 19c is used for the passage of the tour pin 13 and the mandrel 4. At the right end of the emergency bolt, a projection 19d is provided which, when this bolt is shifted to the right, lies in front of the retaining pin 16b of the locking lever 16 and prevents the locking lever from swinging up. The effect is the same as if the electromagnet were energized. Pressing the emergency bolt can release the main bolt if the magnet fails, the electronics are defective or the combination of numbers has been forgotten.

Durch die Öffnung 21g greift der Mitnehmerstift 10C des Wirbels.FIG. 9 shows the main bolt 21 mounted on the emergency bolt, which has no key control curve because it is only driven via the driving pin 10c of the vertebra 10. In addition to the bolt head 21a, it has an elongated hole 21b for the tour pin 20 of the emergency bolt 19. An elongated recess 21c is used to carry out the key. An elongated hole 21d receives the bearing mandrel 3. A rectangular opening 21e receives the tour pin 13 of the locking slide 11, so that it is held particularly stably from above and below. Another slot 21f guides the bolt on the mandrel 4 fixed to the housing. The drive pin 10C of the vertebra engages through the opening 21g.

In addition, the bolt has a recess 21h, in which a stationary drilling protection plate 22 made of high manganese steel rests. This plate shown in Fig. 10 engages with its opening 22a over the bearing mandrel 3. The keyhole recess 22b is only so large that just the drive part of the key can pass through. Tour pin 20 enters recess 22c when the emergency latch is actuated.

On the main bolt and the drilling protection plate there is a guard locking package, not shown, which is only needed for the emergency opening.

Das Loch 23e stützt zusätzlich den Lagerdorn 3 ab.The complete lock according to FIG. 11 has several openings in the cover 23 through which some functions can be checked visually. 23a denotes the keyhole, 23b an elongated hole for the tour pin 20. Pins of the tumbler package are visible in the slots 23c, 23d. The hole 23e additionally supports the bearing mandrel 3.

Fig. 12 shows the locking shaft 24, which is detachably installed in the lock for electrically coded normal operation. The locking shaft is drilled out like a normal key in its lower part. The most important component is the locking hook 24a, which only actuates the key catch and the swivel, but not the emergency bolt. The upper part of the closing shaft 24 is provided with an axially parallel groove 24b, which is used to hold a handle against rotation. The angle of rotation of the handle becomes mechanical limited in such a way that the closing shaft 24 can only be pulled out of the lock if the handle secured with a screw has been removed beforehand.

In normal operation of the lock, the user types in his combination of numbers. If the number is correct, the magnet is energized for a limited time, so that the handle can be turned to the right within this time, the main bolt reversing the locking and control lever via the locking slide and going fully into the open position with the travel pin 13. The guard locking package remains disordered and the emergency bolt remains in the idle state.

If the combination has now been forgotten, the electronics have failed or the magnet is defective, an emergency opening must be carried out. To do this, the handle is removed, the locking shaft removed and the emergency key inserted. It has a normal double-bit coding and also differs from the locking shaft in that the locking hook is higher. When the emergency key is turned clockwise, the tumblers are arranged, the emergency bolt 19 is shifted to the right and the tour pin 20 enters the tumblers. The projection 19d moves in front of the holding pin 16b and thus holds the locking lever 16 in place, so that the control lever 15 can pivot upwards and release the path of the tour pin 13.
Both emergency pins 13 and 20 are in operation when the emergency opening is activated.

The safe can be opened and closed again with the emergency key until a repair is carried out. A loss of safety is not associated with this emergency operation.

The main bolt of the lock can also be designed as a trap. In this embodiment, a spring is provided between the bolt and the housing, which causes the bolt to be extended. It is then expedient to program the control so that the code must also be entered when locking.

The electronic control is housed as a potted component in the right part of the lock housing. The lock does not require a mains connection, but is preferably equipped with long-life lithium batteries, the protective housing of which can be hung on the lock housing.
The input keyboard for the code is fixed on the door surface.
A credit card reader can take the place of the input keyboard.

For use in the hotel area, the control can be set up so that the hotel guest programs the lock with his credit card.

Gewerbliche VerwertbarkeitCommercial usability

The described container lock can be used commercially in various areas. It can be used advantageously for hotel room safes as well as in office or private rooms and can be offered in various operating options.

It is extremely convenient for the user that he does not have to carry a key with him at all times, but that the emergency key that can be reached safely allows opening at no cost if the combination has been forgotten or the credit card has been lost.
