Die erwärmte Gemischmasse wird vom Förderband in eine Schraubenpresse abgeschabt, wo die heiße Gemischmasse gepreßt wird und die Temperatur bei steigendem Druck weiter ansteigt, wobei dann alles Kunststoffmaterial im Spitzenbereich der Schraubenpresse schmilzt, damit Bindemittel ergebend. Die Schraubenpresse drückt die Masse durch eine passend geformte Düse hindurch zu einem stangenartigen Preßkörper. Nach der Düse nachfolgend wird die Stange gekühlt, indem sie in ein mit Wassermantel umgebenes Stahlrohr hineingeleitet wird, oder sie wird durch Beblasen mit Luft gekühlt.
