Definitions
- the invention relates to a breathing mask according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a breathing mask with a mask body designed as a full mask has become known from DE-PS 17 08 046.
- the well-known breathing mask consists of a mask body with connection options for filters and breathing valves.
- the mask body is designed so that two filters can be attached laterally in the cheek area of the mask body, or a single filter is inserted into the mask body in the middle of the mask body in the mouth area.
- two flat disks are provided, which are fastened directly in the mask body material.
- a disadvantage of the known respirator mask is that the center of gravity of the respirator mask is positioned in front of it, due to the filters attached to the side, or the filter located in the center of the mask body, which considerably impairs the wearing comfort.
- the protruding filters interfere with the operation of devices.
- the two panes in the mask body limit the field of view to an area immediately in front of the eyes of the mask wearer and do not allow a view in the side area of the mask body.
- inadequate adaptation of the panes to optical devices is possible, since the panes are firmly integrated into the mask body material. An angular offset between the panes and the lenses of the optical device can result in distortions or reflections which make the use of such devices more difficult.
- DE-GM 10 12 689 discloses a face mask with four eye glasses inserted into the mask body, two of which are arranged in the area of the center of the mask body and the other two eye glasses are arranged in the side areas of the mask body.
- the segmented division of the eye glasses increases the viewing area compared to an arrangement with only two glasses, but the area of perception is limited in places to the individual viewing areas of the eye glasses, which impairs the use of the mask in the close range.
- the invention has for its object to improve a respirator of the type mentioned in such a way that the wearing properties when the filter is attached are improved with respect to the center of gravity, a larger field of vision is available and there is good adaptability to optical devices.
- the advantage of the invention consists essentially in the fact that, by designing the filter as a U-shaped filter element encompassing the mask body from the center of the mask body to the cheek area, the center of gravity is shifted to the mask wearer and the dead space in the cheek area of the respirator mask is particularly well utilized becomes, which significantly increases the usability of the respirator.
- the lenses are made of solid, optical material with good transmission properties.
- the mask body in the area of the filter element is designed as a filter receptacle shaped corresponding to the inner surface of the filter element, and when the filter element is pushed onto the mask body, the inner surface of the filter lies flush against the filter receptacle.
- the filter connection of the filter element is expediently arranged in the center of the mask body.
- the filter connection can be designed as a plug, screw or bayonet connection, the plug connection being the preferred embodiment.
- the lenses are tapered towards the center of the mask body, e.g. triangular first viewing panes, which are located in the main viewing area of the mask wearer, and as round tapering to the rear, e.g. semicircular second lenses, which are arranged in the side region of the mask body.
- Flat or spherically curved glasses can be used as viewing panes.
- By fastening the viewing panes within the flexible elastomer section they can be displaced and tilted relative to one another and can therefore be adapted particularly well to optical devices. Due to the flexibility of the elastomer section, it is also possible to use the viewing panes, e.g. when putting on an optical device, closer to the face, i.e. to the eyes of the mask wearer.
- the viewing windows can be molded or glued into the elastomer section.
- the elastomer section is made from a clear, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
- a holder for receiving a speech membrane is expediently attached in the middle of the mask body above the filter element.
- the speech membrane is located approximately in the mouth area of the mask wearer. In this way, particularly good communication is possible.
- the exhalation valve is conveniently located at the deepest point of the mask body, i.e. attached below the filter element in the chin area. Any condensation water inside the mask body can flow directly into the environment.
- a total of six attachment points are provided on the mask body for attaching a head strap, with two of the attachment points on the mask body being at the level of the filter element in order to support the respirator mask in the area of the center of gravity. In this way, particularly pleasant wearing properties of the respiratory mask are achieved.
- the fastening points located at the level of the filter element can also be attached directly to the filter element, or there are fastening points both on the mask body and on the filter element.
- the inclusion of the filter element in the attachment of the headgear further improves the support of the breathing mask in the area of focus.
- the filter element is designed so that the gas inlet openings at the ends of the side parts, i.e. lie on the leg ends of the U-shaped filter element.
- the gas flow then takes place symmetrically from the two opposite gas inlet openings to the centrally arranged filter connection.
- the filter element contains individual sorption layers, e.g. made of activated carbon, for the adsorption of harmful gases.
- a useful sequence of the air cleaning layers within the filter element is a nonwoven body as a particle separator and one or more activated carbon cartridges for the harmful gas adsorption.
- the filter element is advantageously designed as a cassette filter with an openable filter housing, into which individual air cleaning layers can be inserted or can also be removed therefrom after use.
- the preparation of the cassette filter is considerably simplified since the filter housing can be used several times and only the air cleaning layers are replaced have to. The used sorption layers can thus be immediately reprocessed.
- FIG. 1 shows a breathing mask 1 with a mask body 2 designed as a full mask, which is made of a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and at the same time is designed as a sealing edge to the face of a mask wearer (not shown in FIG. 1).
- the mask body 2 is designed symmetrically with respect to the center of the mask body 3, as the axis of symmetry of the respirator mask 1.
- a rectangular cutout is provided, which is closed with a correspondingly designed, rectangular, flexible and transparent elastomer section 4.
- the elastomer section 4 also consists of a TPE. In the elastomer section 4, which is highlighted by a hatching in FIG.
- first viewing panes 5 tapering towards the center of the mask body 3 and semicircular second viewing panes 6 are inserted, which are seen from the center of the mask body 3 behind the first viewing panes 5 in Side area of the mask body 2 lie.
- the first viewing panes 5 form an angle to one another of approximately 170 degrees and the second viewing panes 6 are angled by approximately 120 degrees with respect to the respectively adjacent first viewing panes 5. In this way it is achieved that both in the front area and in the side area of the mask body 2, the viewing windows 5, 6 only Mask body 2, the lenses 5, 6 have only a slight angular offset with respect to the visual axis of the mask wearer.
- the lower part of the mask body 2 is designed as a U-shaped filter receptacle 8 with a breath connection 9 from the center of the mask body 3 to the cheek region 7. Above the breathing connection 9 there is a holder 10 for a speech membrane, not shown in FIG. 1, and below the breathing connection 9 there is an exhalation valve 11.
- a U-shaped curved cassette filter 12 as a filter element with a filter connection 13 has an inner surface 14 which is shaped corresponding to the filter receptacle 8. In this way, the cassette filter 12 can be pushed onto the filter holder 8 with a precise fit. When the cassette filter 12 is pushed onto the filter receptacle 8 along the arrow 19, the filter connection 13 engages in the breathing connection 9.
- FIG. 1 shows the respiratory protection mask 1 with the cassette filter 12 removed.
- FIG. 2 shows the respiratory protection mask 1 with the cassette filter 12 attached. Identical components in FIG. 2 are identified by the same reference numerals in FIG. 1.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 Six attachment points 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 are provided on the mask body 2 for a head harness 26, two of the attachment points 22, 24 being attached to the mask body 2 at the level of the filter holder 8 in order to support the mask body 2 in the region of its center of gravity .
- the head strap 26 is sewn together from individual, biaxially stretchable pieces of fabric.
- the relaxed state of the head strap 26 is illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2. Due to the concave shape of the head strap 26 in the relaxed state, there is a particularly good fit on the head of the mask wearer, not shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a breathing mask according to the preamble of
A breathing mask with a mask body designed as a full mask has become known from DE-PS 17 08 046. The well-known breathing mask consists of a mask body with connection options for filters and breathing valves. The mask body is designed so that two filters can be attached laterally in the cheek area of the mask body, or a single filter is inserted into the mask body in the middle of the mask body in the mouth area. In the visible area of the mask body, two flat disks are provided, which are fastened directly in the mask body material.
A disadvantage of the known respirator mask is that the center of gravity of the respirator mask is positioned in front of it, due to the filters attached to the side, or the filter located in the center of the mask body, which considerably impairs the wearing comfort. In addition, the protruding filters interfere with the operation of devices. The two panes in the mask body limit the field of view to an area immediately in front of the eyes of the mask wearer and do not allow a view in the side area of the mask body. In addition, with the known respirator mask, inadequate adaptation of the panes to optical devices is possible, since the panes are firmly integrated into the mask body material. An angular offset between the panes and the lenses of the optical device can result in distortions or reflections which make the use of such devices more difficult.
Durch die segmentartige Aufteilung der Augengläser wird zwar der Sichtbereich gegenüber einer Anordnung mit nur zwei Gläsern vergrößert, allerdings ist der Wahrnehmungsbereich punktuell auf die Einzelsichtbereiche der Augengläser begrenzt, was den Gebrauch der Maske im Nahbereich beeinträchtigt.DE-GM 10 12 689 discloses a face mask with four eye glasses inserted into the mask body, two of which are arranged in the area of the center of the mask body and the other two eye glasses are arranged in the side areas of the mask body. The segmented division of the eye glasses increases the viewing area compared to an arrangement with only two glasses, but the area of perception is limited in places to the individual viewing areas of the eye glasses, which impairs the use of the mask in the close range.
The invention has for its object to improve a respirator of the type mentioned in such a way that the wearing properties when the filter is attached are improved with respect to the center of gravity, a larger field of vision is available and there is good adaptability to optical devices.
Die Lösung der Aufgabe erfolgt mit den Merkmalen des Patentanspruchs 1.The problem is solved with the features of
The advantage of the invention consists essentially in the fact that, by designing the filter as a U-shaped filter element encompassing the mask body from the center of the mask body to the cheek area, the center of gravity is shifted to the mask wearer and the dead space in the cheek area of the respirator mask is particularly well utilized becomes, which significantly increases the usability of the respirator. The arrangement of a rectangular, transparent elastomer section in the viewing area of the mask body, in which individual viewing panes are used, significantly increases the field of vision, since the surroundings are now also visually perceptible outside the viewing panes. The lenses are made of solid, optical material with good transmission properties. By attaching the viewing panes within the flexible elastomer section, particularly good adaptability to optical devices is achieved, since the viewing panes can be tilted against one another or also moved.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
In an advantageous manner, the mask body in the area of the filter element is designed as a filter receptacle shaped corresponding to the inner surface of the filter element, and when the filter element is pushed onto the mask body, the inner surface of the filter lies flush against the filter receptacle. The filter connection of the filter element is expediently arranged in the center of the mask body. The filter connection can be designed as a plug, screw or bayonet connection, the plug connection being the preferred embodiment.
Advantageously, the lenses are tapered towards the center of the mask body, e.g. triangular first viewing panes, which are located in the main viewing area of the mask wearer, and as round tapering to the rear, e.g. semicircular second lenses, which are arranged in the side region of the mask body. Flat or spherically curved glasses can be used as viewing panes. By fastening the viewing panes within the flexible elastomer section, they can be displaced and tilted relative to one another and can therefore be adapted particularly well to optical devices. Due to the flexibility of the elastomer section, it is also possible to use the viewing panes, e.g. when putting on an optical device, closer to the face, i.e. to the eyes of the mask wearer. The viewing windows can be molded or glued into the elastomer section. The elastomer section is made from a clear, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
A holder for receiving a speech membrane is expediently attached in the middle of the mask body above the filter element. The speech membrane is located approximately in the mouth area of the mask wearer. In this way, particularly good communication is possible.
The exhalation valve is conveniently located at the deepest point of the mask body, i.e. attached below the filter element in the chin area. Any condensation water inside the mask body can flow directly into the environment.
A total of six attachment points are provided on the mask body for attaching a head strap, with two of the attachment points on the mask body being at the level of the filter element in order to support the respirator mask in the area of the center of gravity. In this way, particularly pleasant wearing properties of the respiratory mask are achieved. The fastening points located at the level of the filter element can also be attached directly to the filter element, or there are fastening points both on the mask body and on the filter element. The inclusion of the filter element in the attachment of the headgear further improves the support of the breathing mask in the area of focus.
Advantageously, the filter element is designed so that the gas inlet openings at the ends of the side parts, i.e. lie on the leg ends of the U-shaped filter element. The gas flow then takes place symmetrically from the two opposite gas inlet openings to the centrally arranged filter connection. The filter element contains individual sorption layers, e.g. made of activated carbon, for the adsorption of harmful gases. A useful sequence of the air cleaning layers within the filter element is a nonwoven body as a particle separator and one or more activated carbon cartridges for the harmful gas adsorption.
The filter element is advantageously designed as a cassette filter with an openable filter housing, into which individual air cleaning layers can be inserted or can also be removed therefrom after use. In this way, the preparation of the cassette filter is considerably simplified since the filter housing can be used several times and only the air cleaning layers are replaced have to. The used sorption layers can thus be immediately reprocessed.
