Definitions
- the invention relates to a detection device for filter bags in vacuum cleaners, with a sensor device sensing a plate-like connector of the filter bag inserted in the vacuum cleaner and with switching means controlled by the sensor device to prevent the vacuum cleaner motor from being switched on when the connector is not correctly recognized.
- Such a detection device is known from DE 26 03 110, DE 34 34 209 and US 2 839 156, in which the connector of the filter bag used in the vacuum cleaner actuates a switch, so that the presence of the vacuum cleaner bag is recognized in this way .
- the vacuum cleaner motor can only be switched on when the switch is actuated.
- Pneumatic arrangements are also known from DE 26 55 547, GB 1 440 174 and US 4 184 225, in which the presence of the vacuum cleaner bag is pneumatically recognized is, and which is also only possible when the vacuum cleaner bag is recognized when the vacuum cleaner motor is switched on.
- the known detection devices make it possible to prevent the motor from being switched on when the filter bag is not inserted, but there is a risk that an incorrect filter bag will be inserted, which can also lead to malfunctions.
- the at least one sensitive element in or on the connector or filter bag is connected to the switching means by means of an electronic sensor device which senses electromagnetic waves by means of an evaluation device which checks the correct position and design of the at least one sensitive element using the sensor signals.
- the detection device according to the invention can be used to reliably prevent the vacuum cleaner from being switched on if the filter bag is incorrect, even if the incorrect filter bag used has a connector whose shape corresponds to that of the correct filter bag. If, for example, a qualitatively poor filter bag is used that happens to have the same geometric design, downstream microfilters can be blocked, for example, if the dust through the filter wall is too large, which reduces the overall vacuum cleaner function and can even damage the vacuum cleaner motor. Too little dust passage with an incorrect, too tight filter bag can impair the vacuum cleaner function or even damage the vacuum cleaner motor.
- the correct filter bag can be reliably recognized by the detection device according to the invention, so that the optimal vacuum cleaner function is maintained and damage caused by filter bags that are too large or too fine-pored can be prevented. In addition, this detection device can of course also detect an incorrectly inserted correct filter bag or a missing filter bag.
- the detection device according to the invention also proves to be very advantageous in view of the increasingly stringent requirements for product liability.
- the detection device according to the invention can be implemented without structural changes compared to conventional vacuum cleaners or vacuum cleaner housings being necessary.
- This unit can be arranged in a simple and inexpensive manner in or on a wall of the vacuum cleaner housing in the region of the connector or in a region of the filter bag which has the sensitive element, the wall of the vacuum cleaner housing provided with the unit preferably being substantially parallel and immediately next to the connector used is arranged.
- the sensor device advantageously has at least one transmitter, in particular a resonant circuit, the sensor signals being formed from the reactions of the sensitive element to the transmitter and / or the electromagnetic waves.
- the sensor device reacts very sensitively to the shape and design of the sensitive element, so that the connector of the respective filter bag which has this sensitive element can be reliably recognized.
- the sensitive element is designed as a metallic surface element, in particular as a metal plate or foil or layer, and the sensor signals are formed as a function of the attenuation of the transmitter caused by the eddy current effect.
- the attachment of such a metallic surface element to or in the connector can be realized very inexpensively, in particular variations of the respective area and shape are possible in a simple manner.
- the sensitive element in the evaluation device is expediently assigned a specific amplitude of the oscillation of the oscillating circuit, with a threshold value stage being provided for detection in the evaluation device, to which a signal derived from the amplitude of the oscillation of the oscillating circuit is fed, above an adjustable first threshold value switching on the vacuum cleaner motor is blocked. From a certain surface of the sensitive element, that is, from a certain damping, the switch-on lock is released.
- An even more reliable detection of the correct filter bag is achieved by additionally switching on the vacuum cleaner motor below a second, adjustable, lower threshold value. This prevents, for example, that an incorrect filter bag, the connector of which is coated, for example, with a metal foil or contains metallic components, is recognized as being correct.
- the sensitive element has means for returning signals that have changed compared to the received electromagnetic waves, the sensor device having a corresponding receiving device.
- the changed signals can be changed in their frequency and / or phase position or they can contain a signal code.
- the evaluation device accordingly contains detection means for the returned signals which have been changed in a specific manner.
- Such a sensitive element which places increased demands on the technology, is expediently designed as a microchip which can easily be arranged, for example, between different layers of the connecting piece and can be produced relatively inexpensively in mass production.
- the transmitter can also be designed as a light transmitter and the sensitive element as the element returning the light to a light receiver in the sensor device.
- the sensitive element as the element returning the light to a light receiver in the sensor device.
- a barcode or a deflecting element returning the light unchanged or changed to a specific point in the sensor device is suitable as a sensitive element for this purpose.
- a capacitive detection of the sensitive element can also be provided as a further advantageous embodiment.
- the filter bag shown schematically in FIG. 1 consists of the actual filter bag 10, the wall of which is made of a material that allows air to pass through and thereby retains the dust in the bag, and a connector 11, which is expediently attached by gluing to a location of the actual filter bag 10 containing an inlet opening.
- a connecting piece 13 projecting into the receiving space of the vacuum cleaner receiving the filter bag, onto which the connecting piece 11 is plugged when the filter bag is inserted into the vacuum cleaner, so that the connecting piece 13 passes through a push-on opening 14 formed on the connecting piece 11 and projects into the interior of the filter bag.
- the connecting piece 11 is essentially plate-shaped and consists of a cardboard-like rigid material.
- a closing slide which is usually present and a membrane seal which usually surrounds the push-on opening 14 are not shown for simplification and are not always present in the case of conventional filter bags. If a closure slide is provided, the connector 11 usually consists of several cardboard layers, as is shown and described for example in DE 43 39 298.
- the connector 11 To attach the connector 11 to the wall 12, the latter has a receiving groove for an edge region of the connector 11 provided retaining bar 15, which can also be replaced by two appropriately designed holding elements.
- a latching projection 16 extends through a latching opening 17 when the connector 11 is plugged in and latches the connector 11.
- two latching projections 16 and two latching openings 17 can also be provided.
- the type of attachment is irrelevant to the present invention and can be designed, for example, in accordance with the prior art already specified or in accordance with DE 43 39 297.
- a metal foil as a sensitive element 18 is attached to a partial area of the connector 11.
- a metal plate or a metallization can also take the place of a metal foil.
- a printed circuit board 19 is arranged in the area of the sensitive element 18, on which an electronic circuit for detecting the sensitive element 18 is arranged, as is shown and described by way of example in FIGS. 2 and 4 .
- the sensitive element 18 can, in particular in the case of a multi-layer design of the connector 11, also be arranged between the layers, that is to say inside the connector 11, and on the one hand it is protected and, on the other hand, it is not recognizable from the outside.
- an oscillating circuit arrangement 20 that generates electromagnetic waves is via a rectification arrangement 21 connected to a comparator arrangement 22, via which a triac 23 in the circuit of a vacuum cleaner motor 24 can be controlled.
- the mode of operation consists in the fact that the resonant circuit of the resonant circuit arrangement 20 excited by an excitation switch (not shown) emits electromagnetic waves to the outside.
- the AC voltage signals generated due to the vibrations in the electronic circuit are rectified in the rectification arrangement 21, so that a signal is present at the output thereof which is dependent on the amplitude of the vibrations.
- the comparator arrangement 20 containing two comparators it is checked whether this signal is smaller than its first threshold value S 1 and at the same time larger than a second, lower threshold value S 2 . Only if these two conditions are met, the triac 23 is switched to conduct current, so that the vacuum cleaner motor 24 can be switched on by means of a manual switch (not shown).
- the first threshold value S 1 is set such that the output signal of the rectification arrangement 21 is higher when the resonant circuit arrangement 20 is not damped, so that the triac 23 is blocked.
- the sensitive element 18 reaches the effective range of the resonant circuit arrangement 20, and eddy currents are generated by the voltage induced in the sensitive element 18, which draw energy from the resonant circuit and dampen it.
- the vibration amplitude decreases so that the output signal of the rectification arrangement 21 also decreases.
- the two threshold values S 1 and S 2 are set such that the damping of the resonant circuit arrangement 20 generated by the sensitive element 18 in the correctly assembled state of the connector 11 is just sufficient to press the output signal of the rectification arrangement 21 below the upper threshold value S 1 , however not below the lower threshold value S 2 so that the intended condition is met and the triac 23 is switched to the current-carrying state so that the vacuum cleaner motor 24 can be switched on or operated.
- the threshold value S 1 would not be fallen below and the vacuum cleaner could not be operated.
- the comparator arrangement 22 could also have only one comparator, so that it is only checked whether a sensitive element 18 with a certain minimum size is contained in or on the connector 11.
- a triac 23 another known electrical or electronic switch can also be used.
- the connector 11 is shown in a schematic plan view.
- four different sensitive elements 25-28 are arranged on or in this connection piece 11: three sensitive elements 25-27 in a rectangular shape with different surfaces and a sensitive element 28 in the form of a double stripe.
- These sensitive elements 25 - 28 are arranged in a corresponding arrangement - with the connector 11 correctly inserted - four resonant circuit arrangements are arranged on the circuit board 19, which scan or test the respective sensitive elements 25 - 28.
- a fifth resonant circuit arrangement 33 is not opposed to a sensitive element.
- Each of the resonant circuit arrangements 29-33 is thereby damped in a certain way, the resonant circuit arrangement 33 not being damped. This is checked in comparator arrangements, not shown, and only if the intended damping value is detected everywhere, then the triac 23 is switched to conduct current.
- the number and arrangement of the sensitive elements and resonant circuit arrangements can of course be chosen practically as desired.
- a sensor device In the circuit shown in FIG. 4 as a further exemplary embodiment for checking a correct filter bag or connecting piece, a sensor device consists of a transmitter 34 and a receiver 35 for electromagnetic waves.
- a sensitive element 36 to be attached to the connector 11 is designed as a microchip and likewise consists of a Receiver 37 and a transmitter 38 for electromagnetic waves.
- a power supply device 39 is provided for the receiver 37 and the transmitter 38, which is either designed as a battery or which is connected to the resonant circuit of the receiver 37 and derives the supply voltage from the RF energy received in the resonant circuit, as is the case, for example, in DE 41 10 683 is known.
- a converter is contained in the receiver 37 or in the transmitter 38, by means of which the received signal is changed. This changed signal is then transmitted back by the transmitter 38 of the sensitive element 36 to the receiver 35 of the sensor device.
- the conversion can take place, for example, by changing the frequency or the phase position of the RF signal.
- the retransmitted signal can also be modulated in a certain way, so that a certain code is sent to the receiver 35 of the sensor device.
- the signal received in the receiver 35 is then checked in a decoder 40 to determine whether the intended information of the sensitive element 36 is contained. If this is the case, the decoder 40 switches the triac 23 in a current-conducting manner. Further possibilities of signal coding and retransmission by sensitive elements 36 in the form of microchips are known per se from DE 41 10 683 already mentioned.
- the transmitter for electromagnetic waves is designed as a light transmitter and the receiver for electromagnetic waves as a light receiver is.
- a barcode or another device can then act as a sensitive element, which returns the light to the light receiver of the sensor device in a modified or unchanged manner.
- a light guide can be provided as a deflecting element in the sensitive element, which guides the light received by the sensor device at one point back to the connector at another point at which the light receiver is arranged.
- the sensitive element can in turn be designed as a current-conducting plate or metallic surface element, which forms part of a capacitor of a measuring resonant circuit.
- circuits shown as exemplary embodiments in FIGS. 2 and 4 which contain sensor devices and evaluation devices, can be included as integrated or non-integrated circuits on the printed circuit board 19. It is also possible, for example, to design all or part of the entire circuit as an integrated circuit.
- a sensitive element or a plurality of sensitive elements can also be arranged on the actual filter bag 10, which during operation usually rests against the walls of a filter bag space in the vacuum cleaner.
- the printed circuit board 19 and / or an integrated sensor and evaluation circuit can then be attached to these walls be arranged.
- Combined versions are also possible in which some sensitive elements are arranged on the actual filter bag 10 and some on the connector 11.
Abstract
