Abstract

Es werden ein Verfahren zum Entwässern einer Papierbahn (14) durch Einwirkung eines Gasdruckes und eine hierzu geeignete Vorrichtung (10) angegeben, wobei ein im wesentlichen quer durch die Papierbahn (14) gerichteter Gasstrom erzeugt wird, durch den Feuchtigkeit aus der Papierbahn (14) ausgetrieben wird. Dies kann dadurch geschehen, daß die Papierbahn zwischen zwei Bändern geführt wird, wovon das erste Band (20) aus einem weichen, möglichst trockenen und leicht kompressiblen Material besteht und das zweite Band (22) aus einem harten, relativ inkompressiblen und wasseraufnahmefähigen Material besteht. Infolge der Kompression des ersten Bandes (20) beim Eintreten in den Preßspalt (12) wird eine durch die Papierbahn (14) in Richtung auf das zweite Band (22) gebildete Gasströmung erzeugt, durch die Feuchtigkeit mitgenommen wird, die zum großen Teil von dem zweiten Band (22) absorbiert wird.
