Description

The present invention relates to a part intended for particular to rigidly fix two heating bodies of a heating radiator.

We know a heating radiator of the type comprising two heaters consisting respectively of two separate heating element panels which can be arranged vertically or horizontally, the elements heaters of a panel being fixed by two welding collectors generally in the form of hollow tubes square cross section extending transversely to the heating elements. The two heaters are attached to each other through their respective collectors welded together.

This method of assembling the heating bodies by welding a heating radiator, in addition to its high cost, requires painting the radiator once both heaters are assembled, so that some difficult access locations of welds are not properly covered with paint coating with drawback that traces of rust can appear in the long run. In addition, the assembly by welding of these heaters is not aesthetic.

The object of the present invention is to eliminate the above disadvantages of radiators known in proposing a part intended to be fixed to an element rigid at least partially hollow by engaging in a opening of a substantially planar wall of this element to, if necessary, seal it, or to allow to rigidly assemble this hollow element to another rigid element at least partially hollow and which is characterized in that it comprises at least part cylindrical male secured to a collar, provided with two diametrically opposite external lugs integral with this and being able to engage in the opening of form conjugate of the hollow element so that the two pins can forcefully engage in two respectively recesses made in the internal face of the wall plane of the hollow element by applying a determined torque, so that the collar is in forced support on the flat wall of the hollow element.

The part also includes a second male part cylindrical integral with the collar, opposite and coaxial with the first male part and provided, integral with it, two diametrically opposed external lugs, the second male part which can engage in an opening of conjugate shape of a substantially planar wall of the other hollow element so that the two lugs of the second male part can forcefully engage respectively in two recesses made in the face internal of the flat wall of the other hollow element in same time as the two pins of the first male part forcibly engage in their respective recesses in applying the torque determined on the collar so as to rigidly assemble the two hollow elements one to the other, the recesses being configured and cooperating with the respective pins so that the two walls planes of the two hollow elements are in forced support respectively on the two opposite faces of the collar.

The pins respectively of the two male parts cylindrical are located in the same median plane longitudinal of these male parts and the collar and are symmetrical with respect to the collar.

These pins penetrate into their respective recesses by local elastic deformation of the wall part of the corresponding hollow element so as to exert on the pins an effort tending to press each side of the collar to the corresponding flat wall of an element hollow.

Preferably, each recess is made between two bosses on the inside of the flat wall of the corresponding hollow member so that by applying the torque at the collar, each lug goes in force over one bosses to fall back into the corresponding recess and be immobilized therein between the two bosses.

At least one of the first and second male parts is full so as to completely block the opening of the hollow element to which the part is fixed.

According to an alternative embodiment, the two male parts are full to prevent any communication of fluid between the two hollow elements assembled together.

According to another alternative embodiment, the two parts males are drilled axially so as to bring fluid communication the two hollow elements assembled together.

Advantageously, at least one O-ring is housed in an annular groove made in one of the faces of the collar to ensure fluid tightness between the collar and the corresponding opening of the hollow element in which the male part is blocked corresponding.

A second O-ring is housed in another groove annular formed in the other opposite face of the collar so as to seal the other's fluid opening of the other hollow element in which is blocked the other male part of the part assembling the two hollow elements.

Advantageously, the collar comprises two opposite flats allowing an operating key to apply to the part the locking torque of each male part in the corresponding opening of the hollow element.

Preferably, the part is used to be fixed in a manifold opening in the form of a tube constituting a hollow element of a heating body, such than a radiator panel with heating elements, or for rigidly assemble this manifold to another manifold in the form of a tube constituting the other hollow element of a other heating element, such as another panel radiator with heating elements.

The invention also relates to a heating radiator comprising two heating bodies assembled together in parallel by at least two tube collectors hollows integral respectively with the two bodies of heating, each in the form of an element panel heated, and in which a fluid can circulate coolant, and which characterized in that it comprises at minus one room, as defined above, for rigidly assemble the two collectors, one of the male parts of the part being blocked in the corresponding opening of one of the collectors by its two pins engaged by force respectively in the two recesses of the internal face of the wall part collector plane and the other male part of the part being blocked in the corresponding opening on the other collector by its two pins engaged by force respectively in the two recesses of the face internal of the flat wall part of the other collector so that the two flat wall parts of the two collectors are forced support respectively on the two opposite sides of the workpiece collar by forces elastic return, in opposite directions, exerted on the respective lugs by the flat wall parts of the two collectors.

The radiator includes four collectors in hollow tubes, two of which are integral with a heating body and the two integral with the other heating body and four identical pieces, two of which allow you to assemble rigidly to each other two collectors respectively of the two heaters and the other two allow to rigidly assemble one to the other the other two collectors respectively of the two heating bodies.

Advantageously, each fixing part is drilled axially to allow circulation of the fluid heat transfer from one collector to another collector fixed together.

Preferably, each collector is in the form of a tube hollow square section.

The invention finally relates to a method for producing a heating radiator comprising two heating bodies can be crossed by a heat transfer fluid and four collectors in the form of hollow section tubes square, two of which are integral with a heating body and the other two in solidarity with the other body of heats, the collectors being two to two assembled together so that the two heaters are attached parallel to each other and which is characterized by what it consists of laying substantially horizontally on one surface of the support one of the two heating bodies so that the two collectors of it have their flat walls, opposite to those integral with the body of heaters, directed upwards; to engage in each of two opposite openings of each collector, made through the flat wall facing upwards of it, a male part of a piece such as defined above, with the collar of the part in support on one part of this flat wall and the other part male part protruding from manifold substantially perpendicular to the flat wall; at place the other heating body on the first body of heats up so that each of the other male parts protrusion of the parts engages in each of the two corresponding opposite openings of each manifold of the other heating body made through the flat walls of these two manifolds facing respectively to the flat walls of the two collectors of the heating element resting on the support surface and coming to bear by gravity on each collar of a piece, and apply a couple on each collar causing the forceful engagement of two pairs of lugs of a part respectively in two pairs of recesses diametrically opposed respectively made in two corresponding internal faces of two flat walls facing two collectors, so as to flatten by force the parts of flat walls facing each other collectors respectively on the two opposite sides of the collar and thus rigidly fix two by two the collectors of the two heating bodies.

The method also consists in interposing a joint O-ring between each flat wall part of a manifold and the adjacent face of the coin collar to seal the circulating fluid from one collector to the other collector fixed together by each fastener pierced axially.

The invention will be better understood and other aims, features, details and benefits of it will appear more clearly in the description explanatory which will follow made with reference to the drawings attached diagrams given only by way of example illustrating several embodiments of the invention and in which:

Referring first to Figures 1 and 2, the references 1 and 2 respectively designate two bodies of heaters assembled together to form a heating radiator in which a heat transfer fluid, such as for example hot water.

Each heater includes a number heating elements 3 separated from each other other and can be arranged horizontally or vertically according to the desired layout of the radiator. These heating elements 3 are assembled between them by two rigid collectors 4 arranged transversely to the elements, which are fixed to collectors 4 by welding so that the whole constitutes a front or rear panel of the radiator. Each collector 4 is preferably produced under the shape of a hollow tube with square or rectangular section and each heating element 3 is preferably made in the form of a hollow parallelepiped of relatively thin, but it is understood that each manifold and each heating element may have different sections and shapes.

According to the invention, the two heating bodies 1, 2 are rigidly joined together by means of their respective collectors 4, each collector 4 of the heating body 1 being secured to the manifold 4 which facing him from the other heater 2 by by means of two fixing parts 5, one of which embodiment is shown in detail in the figures 3 to 6.

Each fastener 5 includes a male part cylindrical 6 integral with a collar 7 coaxially with this one protruding from one side of the collar perpendicular to it and another male part cylindrical 8 integral with the collar 7 coaxially with the latter and projecting from the collar perpendicular to this opposite to the male part 6. The two parts males 6, 8 have identical diameter and length identical from collar 7 so as to be symmetrical with respect to this collar. The male part 6 has a rigid cylindrical axis 9 passing through diametrically the male part 6 projecting externally of it so as to define two diametrically opposite external lugs 9a. Likewise, the male part 8 has a transverse cylindrical axis 10 diametrically part 8 projecting at the outside of it so as to define two pins diametrically opposite external 10a. The two axes 9, 10 are located in the same longitudinal median plane of the part 5, i.e. male parts 6, 8 and the collar 7, and are symmetrical with respect to this collar. This the latter has two opposite flats 7a whose function will be explained later.

Each collector 4 has on its flat wall 4a, opposite to that attached to the heating elements 3, two orifices or openings 11 made through the wall plane 4a and located in the vicinity respectively of the two ends of the manifold 4. Each opening 11 of shape general circular has two notches diametrically opposed 12 rectangular made through the wall 4a of the manifold 4. The two notches 12 allow respectively the introduction of two pins 9a or 10a of a male part 6 or 8 as we will see it later.

Two diametrically opposite recesses 13, arranged substantially at 90 ° from each notch 12, are formed in the internal face of the wall 4a of a manifold 4 and shaped to receive respectively two lugs 9a of the male part 6 or 10a of the male part 8. Each recess 13 is defined between two bosses 14 in removal, internally at the collector, of the internal face of the wall 4a so as to forcely penetrate each lug 9a or 10a in its corresponding recess 13 of which the bottom is also set back internally from the internal face of the wall 4a of the corresponding collector 4. Preferably, each recess 13 present in section transverse a V shape extending from the edge of the opening 11 in the internal face of the wall 4a on a distance at least equal to the length of each lug 9a, 10a.

An O-ring 15 can be provided between each of the two opposite sides of the collar 7 and the part corresponding wall 4a of a manifold 4 so sealing the heat transfer fluid which can pass through each manifold 4 coming from an orifice input 4b of this collector to which a coolant inlet pipe (not shown). The two O-rings 15 can also ensure fluid tightness when this last crosses the axial hole formed by the two hollow male parts 6, 8 of the attachment part 5 two adjacent manifolds 4 of the radiator. Each joint 15 is housed in an annular groove 16 made in the corresponding wall face of the collar 7.

The principle of assembly and fixing of the two bodies of heats 1, 2 to form a radiator already emerges from the description which precedes and will now be described.

First, one 1 of the heaters is arranged horizontally on a suitable support surface of so that the two collectors 4 of it have their walls 4a directed upwards as shown in Figures 1 and 6. Then, a part 5 of Figure 3 is engaged in each of the openings 11 so that the lower male part, for example 8, and the pins correspondent 10a respectively engage in the opening 11 and the notches 12 with these pins plumbing respective notches 12 by being located at a level slightly below the face internal of the corresponding wall 4a. Of course, the O-ring 15, housed intially in its groove corresponding annular 16, is then interposed between the collar 7 and the corresponding circular part of the wall 4a. Thus, each part 5 rests, by through its collar 7, on the wall 4a of the corresponding collector 4 with the other male part, in the present case 6, projecting from the wall 4a perpendicular to it. The other O-ring 15 is housed in the other annular groove 16 of the collar 7 of each part 5 and the other heating body 2 is disposed above the heating body 1 to which it must be attached by parts 5 so that the two collectors 4 of the heater 2 are plumb or above respectively of the two collectors 4 of the other body of heater 1 with their respective walls 4a being face. Descending vertically each manifold 4 of the heating element 2 as indicated by arrow A in FIG. 6, each protruding male part 6 of a part 5 and its lugs 9a then engage respectively in the opening 11 and the corresponding notches 12 of the manifold 4 so that the pins 9a are located at a level slightly set back from the internal face of the wall 4a of the manifold 4 of the heating body 2. Once that the two manifolds 4 of the heating body 2 are in gravity support by their corresponding walls 4a on the four collars 7 of parts 5, an operator engages an open-ended wrench on both sides of the flats 7a of each part 5 through the space defined between two contiguous collectors 4. The operator then does turn each piece 5 using its operating key in a certain direction, for example that of the needles a watch as indicated by the arrow B in FIG. 6, so as to bring the pins 9a, 10a at the same time support against each corresponding boss 14 located first on their trajectory. The operator then exercises on the collar 7, by the operating key, a couple important so as to force through each boss 14, by elastic deformation of the part of wall 4a comprising each pair of bosses 14 and the corresponding recess 13 between these two bosses, each lug 9a, 10a which then falls into its recess corresponding 13. Since each recess 13 is in removal of the internal face of the wall 4a from the manifold corresponding 4, the respective funds of these recesses 13 exert on the lugs 9a, 10a of each piece of elastic forces resulting from elastic deformation of the material constituting each recess between two bosses and tending to press the portions vigorously corresponding wall 4a of the collectors 4 against the opposite sides of the collars 7 with concomitant crushing O-rings 15 between collars 7 and walls 4a of collectors 4. Figure 4 shows the axial forces of opposite directions C exerted by the bottoms of the recesses 13 on the pins 9a, 10a for pressing the wall parts 4a of adjacent collectors 4 respectively against two opposite sides of the collar 7.

Once in place at the bottom of the recesses 13, the pins 9a, 10a are immobilized and the opposing sense forces resulting from the local elastic deformation of the material constituting the funds of these recesses are sufficient to ensure final locking of the lugs in these recesses without being able to remove them from these if one wishes to ensure total inviolability of the assembly between them of the collectors 4 with respect to users of the heating radiator. The rigidity of the fixing of the two radiator heating bodies by the parts 5 allows it to withstand the stresses of various natures such as for example static weight of the radiator, the dynamic forces appearing during transport, assembly, handling, etc. from radiator, the expansion efforts resulting from the circulation of hot water throughout the radiator. Of fact that the assembly by parts 5 of the manifolds of heating body provides excellent mechanical resistance, it is possible to use the O-rings 15 of so as to ensure perfect pressure tightness of water circulating in the heating bodies. In addition, the method of assembling two radiator heaters by fasteners according to the invention allows paint the heaters and their collectors and fasteners before assembly and, if applicable if necessary, to assemble two colored heaters different or different finishes.

If the inviolability of the attachment of the collectors 4 must be insured vis-à-vis the users of the radiator, each fastener 5 can nevertheless be unlocked only by manufacturing personnel radiators or qualified after-sales service without that the characteristics described be modified previously from the assembly.

Of course, the number of fasteners 5 necessary to rigidly fix the heating bodies 1, 2 of the radiator is a function of the dimensions of the heater to assemble.

The assembly of the manifolds 4 of the two heating bodies allows a gain in heating power of the radiator as well achieved by about 22% compared to the solution conventional consisting in fixing by welding such collectors.

Each part 5 as described with reference to the figures 1 to 6 is drilled axially so as to ensure the circulation of water between the two heating elements 1, 2 of the radiator. However, it is possible to prohibit a water circulation between two adjacent collectors assembled together by making part 5 so that one of the male parts 6, 8 or both male parts are full. It is also possible to provide a attachment piece 5 of adjacent collectors attached axially hollow assembly and the other fastener 5 of these two axially full manifolds to achieve specific water circulation between the two bodies 1, 2.

Bien entendu, un joint torique sera interposé entre le collet 7 et la paroi 4a du collecteur correspondant 4.It is also possible, in the case of a radiator with a single heater 1 or 2, to use each piece 5 as a sealing element for an opening corresponding 11 of a collector 4. For this purpose, the part 5 is as shown in FIG. 3 with at at least one of the male parts 6, 8 full while being fixed in the opening 11 sealingly by the pins 10a forcibly engaged respectively in the two recesses 13 of collector 4. For this same effect, it is also possible to make part 5 as shown in Figure 7 which shows that this part has only one male part 6 (or 8) with lugs 9a (or 10a) for fixing the part in the orifice 11 of a manifold 4, the face plane of the collar 7 opposite the male part closing off this last and can be used as a wall hanging piece a radiator heater. Of course, a O-ring will be interposed between the collar 7 and the wall 4a of the corresponding collector 4.

Finally, it should be noted that in the context of fixing two manifolds of two heating bodies from a radiator to using fasteners 5, it is possible to use large collectors or large areas, unlike the known solution so far that collectors are fixed together by deforming welding of the plane walls of large dimensions of these collectors.
