En fonctionnement, pour permettre cette liaison au travers du module depuis les contacts électriques des cartouches jusqu'aux contacts électriques de la base et inversement, le support 108 et le carter 110 comportent chacun au moins une fente pour permettre le passage du support souple de liaison 112. Dans le cas contraire (réponse non au test de l'étape 208), un avis de défaut est transmis à la tête d'impression dans l'étape 214 qui peut provoquer un blocage définitif de cette tête par exemple après un nombre prédéterminé de tentatives infructueuses (étape ultime 216).Figure 7 shows the different operations performed both at print module (head) level only from the bottom of the machine postage to ensure secure printing. Par ailleurs, on notera que pour obtenir une bonne qualité d'impression, il convient de régler les cartouches d'encre lors de la fabrication à la fois dans la direction de balayage et dans une direction perpendiculaire à celle-ci.
