Description

The present invention relates to a chin strap headphones with two acoustic transducers and with two brackets, at the upper end of each of which one of the transducers is fixed and whose upper ends are elastically removable from each other and which are interconnected at their lower end.

Headphones are known to be designed in particular as chin-earphones when boards with electrical circuits are to be attached to the headphones. Known chin-ear headphones have for this purpose a small housing which can be positioned under the chin in front of the user's chest and from which two elastic straps lead in a slightly curved course past the cheeks to the ears. There at the upper ends of the strap acoustic transducers are mounted. The transducers are usually equipped with ear pads that cushion the contact pressure of the transducer against the ears for the user comfortably and softly. The contact pressure is generated by the fact that the upper ends of the strap with the transducers away from each other while the strap on their Length are elastically deformed transversely, so that then placed in the earcups of the user ear pads of the acoustic transducer are resiliently pressed into the ears, find support there and ensure a good acoustic transmission.

Unlike earphones with headband straps, the entire weight of chin strap headphones is stored in the user's pressure sensitive earcups. So that the chin-earphone headphone does not slip from the user's ears by its own weight, or at the latest with slight movements of the head, the spring characteristics of the elastically laterally deformable brackets as well as the initial undeflected distance between the brackets before applying the chin guard Headphone so matched by the user, that adjusts the deflection of the bracket by inserting the transducer pad in the ears, a sufficiently large contact pressure.

However, it is problematic that different users have individually different distances between their ears and that as a result of this individual ear distance an individually different contact pressure is established. Thus, for users with slender heads, chin strap headphones may tend to slip off the ears while the same chin strap headphones will cause unpleasant ear pressure to a user with a broad head.

The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a chin strap headphones, regardless of individual dimensions of the head anatomy of his user ensures a contact pressure of the acoustic transducer against the ear cups, which is strong enough for a secure fit and sufficiently weak to the user not to be uncomfortable.

This object is achieved by a chin strap headphones with the features described in claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

According to the invention, a chin strap headphones has two acoustic transducers each for one ear and two stirrups, at the upper end of each of which one of the transducers is attached to the ear for positioning. The brackets are connected together at their lower end and together form a bay, which then, when a user applies the chin strap headphones, passes from one ear to the other under the user's chin. The upper ends of the strap can be used to generate contact pressure of the transducer - preferably by padding between transducer and ear for the user more convenient on a larger surface of the pinnae removed elastically from each other, preferably, by the strap over its length are elastically deformed transversely. According to the invention, in such a chin strap earphone, the distance between the upper ends of the straps - that is the distance between the ear contact surfaces of the transducers - adjustable at the connection of the lower ends of the strap, in particular before the chin strap headphones is applied by a user , In this way, the spring travel of the bracket, which, as described with respect to the prior art, generates the contact pressure of the transducer against the ears, can be adjusted to the individual width of the head of the user (the distance of his auricles from each other and there in particular the surface areas, who are in contact with the transducers when the receiver is connected). When this setting is made with the inventive chin strap headphones, although not the distance between the transducers at the upper end of the bracket changes, because of course with given chin strap headphones by the distance of the ears given, but- and that is the same The object underlying the invention - the bias of the elastically removable upper ends of the strap against the ears of the user changes by changing the resilient deflection of the bracket, and thus according to the invention the contact pressure of the transducer (or preferably attached to the transducers pad) against the adjustable pressure-sensitive earcups of the user.

Preferably, a hinge joint forms the connection between the lower ends of the bracket, which can be locked in any opening angle. So results an adjustable width of the bay formed by the brackets and consequently according to the invention an adjustable distance between the upper ends of the bracket, where the transducers are mounted.

At the hinge joint, the stirrups are movable from a low-angle rest position between the stirrups and a slight distance between their upper ends to a larger-angle functional position between the stirrups and greater distance between their upper ends, and a spring in the region of the connection biases the stirrups in the direction of the rest position against each other. As a result, the chin-earphone headset according to the invention moves in a spring-actuated manner into the space-saving rest position when the brackets are not actuated and moved apart by a user. The movement of the bracket is limited in the direction of the functional position by a stop which is adjustable for adjusting the distance between the upper ends of the bracket according to the invention. By namely, the angular position of the stopper is adjustable so that the moving in the operating position against the stop bracket assume an adjustable angle by means of the stop, the distance between the transducers at the upper end of the bracket on the adjustment of the stop is adjustable according to the invention.

The user moves the bracket from the rest position against the bias of the spring - which preferably has a relatively small spring constant - up against the adjustable stop in the operating position. It now bends the upper ends apart so that the straps elastically deform over their length, preferably with a greater spring constant than the spring, and then inserts the acoustic transducers at the top of the straps into its ears. If the user now finds that the bias of the strap against his ears is too low, he adjusts the stop in the direction of a smaller angle between the brackets to the resilient deflection of the strap - so the contact pressure - against his ears at his head between the Ironing to enlarge.

Or if he uncomfortably press the transducer uncomfortably in the ears, he adjusted accordingly the stop in the direction of the larger angle between the brackets to their relaxation.

Preferably, the spring pulls the brackets in the rest position, thereby characterized in the rest position, a button, for example. to turn off the headset is pressed.

The invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying figure.
The figure
shows a front view of a chin-earphone according to the invention, in the circuit housing of the removed, not shown lid leaves open the view into the housing.

With reference to the figure, a chin guard headphones with two brackets 2 and two acoustic transducers 4 at the upper end of the bracket 2 can be seen. At its lower end, the brackets 2 are connected to one another at a housing 6 and thus form an upwardly open bay. In this case, the bracket 2 arcuately arched outwards, and the acoustic transducers 4 at the upper end of the bracket 2 are directed inwardly with ear pads 8, which also point inwardly into the bay thus formed. At their inside tips, the ear pads 8 (made of rubber or elastic plastic) each have a passage 10 of two crossed slots to ensure a good acoustic connection from the transducers 4 through the ear pads 8 in the direction of the ears (not shown).

The upper ends of the bracket 2 with the acoustic transducers 4 and the ear pads 8 are elastically removable from each other by the bracket 2 are elastically deformable over its arcuate length transversely outwardly. Thus, the bay formed by the brackets 2 can be elastically expanded, and the ear pads 8 on the acoustic transducers 4 can be inserted by the user in his ears, the brackets 2 along the cheeks of the user down to the chin, where under the chin the housing 6 rests as a connection between the lower ends of the brackets 2 on the chest (not shown) of the user.

The left of the bracket 2 is inserted in a shaft 12 which is integrally connected to a cover 14 which forms the rear wall of the circular cylindrical housing 6. On a coaxial with the housing 6 axis 16, the right of the bracket 2 is articulated via a hinge joint and thus connected to the left of the bracket 2 through the housing 6. In the interior of the housing 6, a tension coil spring 18 with respect to the axis 16 in the circumferential direction between the right of the bracket 2 and the circumference of the housing 6 forming wall of the housing 6 is biased counterclockwise about the axis 16. In this case, the spring 18 pulls the right of the bracket 2 with a projection 22 which is formed on the right of the bracket 2, counterclockwise against a button (not shown) to turn off the headphone. The button is disposed on a board (not shown) which is in a plane perpendicular to the axis 16 above the elements described herein in the housing 6.

The right of the bracket 2 is thus articulated in the housing 6 on the coaxial with it axis 16 and thus can pivotally take two different angles to the left of the bracket 2. For this, the right of the bracket 2 can sweep at an angle of approximately 15 ° with respect to the housing 6 pivotally, by the right of the bracket 2 is guided out of the housing 6 through a correspondingly wide slot 24 in the peripheral wall of the housing 6 to the outside. The wall of the elongated hole 24 serves as a stop and limit the range of movement of the right of the strap 2 against the left of the brackets 2 in the circumferential direction of the housing 6. In the extreme position of this movement range the opposite direction the spring pulls 18 to the right of the bracket 2 in the Rest position, in which the projection 22, the button (not shown) is pressed.

The extreme position of the right of the bracket 2 in the clockwise direction in the circumferential direction of the housing 6 - the position in which a user pulls the bracket 2 apart to apply the headphones - is adjustable by a likewise mounted on the axis 16 adjustment lever 26. This points to one Pin 28, which is in a engages in the circumferential direction about the axis 16 extending slot 30 which is formed on the bracket 2 within the housing 6. The lever 26, with which the pin 28 in the slot 30 is pivotable about the axis 16 together, is limited in its pivoting range by a screw 32 which is inserted through a hole in the lever 26 on the one hand and through a second slot 34 on the other hand, which also extends on the housing 6 in the circumferential direction. The head of the screw 32 extends out of the housing 6 and can therefore be actuated from the outside, with the screw 32 tightened the lever 26 - set around the axis 16 around - set. By this configuration, the pin 28 is pivotally adjustable as part of the lever 26 in the slot 30 of the right of the bracket 2 and serves as a stop of the right of the bracket 2 about the axis 16 around to limit the mobility of the right of the bracket 2 in a clockwise direction. Then namely the edge of the slot 30 as part of the right of the bracket 2 abuts against the pin 28 as part of the lever 26 at. And because the lever 26 is fixed by means of the screw 32 in the housing 6, which in turn is fixedly connected to the left of the bracket 2, the mobility of the right of the bracket 2 relative to the left of the bracket 2 is adjustable adjustable limited by the described embodiment in that the ends of the stirrups 2 can only be removed from each other as far as an adjustable distance as described before the stirrups 2 deform elastically - ie resiliently - transversely and by this deformation the contact pressure of the ear cushions 8 against the auricles (not shown) of the user produce. This contact pressure is consequently by the described adjustability of the mobility of the bracket 2 against each other adjustable by individually adjustable by fixing the position of the bracket 2 to each other in front of their resilient deflection of travel of the bracket to the bracket 2 by the individual ear distance of a headset user be deflected.
