In einer Weiterung der Erfindung sind die Abschirmbleche im Wesentlichen U-förmig ausgebildet. Bei geeigneter Dimensionierung des Abschirmbleches sowie der Abstände der Reihen bzw. der einzelnen Kontaktelemente zueinander wird mit dem Ineinanderstecken der beiden Steckverbinderelemente erreicht, dass die jeweiligen Schenkel des benachbarten U-förmigen Abschirmblechs zusammen mit der Rückseite des ersten Abschirmblechs eine im Wesentlichen durchgehend umlaufende Abschirmung von zumindest zwei Kontaktelementen bilden.
Der Versatz, der unter anderem durch die Größe bzw. Länge des zweiten Abschnittes, der sich im Wesentlichen senkrecht zur Längserstreckung des Kontaktelementes erstreckt, bestimmt wird, ist bevorzugt entsprechend den standardisierten Steckverbinder-Systemen gewählt.
Mit der versetzten Anordnung, in Längsrichtung des Kontaktelementes gesehen, der dritten Abschnitte zu den ersten Abschnitten, ist es ermöglicht, dass die jeweils versetzt angeordneten dritten Abschnitte zweier gleichartig ausgebildeter Messerleisten, wie vorstehend schon erwähnt, von zwei Seiten her auf eine mit Durchbrüchen versehene Platine aufsteckbar sind, so dass die jeweiligen dritten Abschnitte sich ungefähr in der Mittelebene der Platine berühren und derart eine elektrische Verbindung zwischen den Kontaktelementen der Messerleisten hergestellt wird. Die Innenwandung der Durchbrüche kann selbst elektrisch leitend ausgebildet sein, so dass die Toleranzen bei der Fertigung der Kontaktelemente selbst als für das Einstecken der Kontaktelemente in die besagte Platine nicht so eng gehalten werden müssen, was sich kostenmindernd auswirkt.
Dazu ist es vorteilhaft, dass eine gerade Anzahl an Reihen der Kontaktelemente vorhanden ist, so dass jeweils zwei benachbarte Kontaktelemente mit einem gemeinsamen Abschirmblech versehen sind. Vorzugsweise sind vier Reihen von Kontaktelementen in der Messer- oder Federleiste angeordnet.
Die Abschirmbleche werden z.B. durch Umbiegen eines flachen Blechs oder Ablängen eines Blechprofiles erhalten und sind ebenfalls entweder lösbar in dem Steckverbinderelement einsetzbar oder bereits eingegossen.

Die Kontaktelemente 4 sind hier in vier zueinander parallelen Reihen 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d angeordnet. Jeweils zwei der Reihen 5a bis 5d sind dabei zueinander versetzt angeordnet, so dass bei einer Projektion senkrecht zur Längsrichtung jeweils die Kontaktelemente 4 der ersten 5a und dritten 5c bzw. der zweiten 5b und vierten 5d Reihe übereinander liegen. Die Abschirmbleche 3 umgreifen jeweils zwei Kontaktelemente 4 zweier benachbarter Reihen und zwar hier der Reihen 5a und 5b bzw. 5c und 5d. Die Abschirmbleche 3 sind dabei im 45° Winkel zur Längserstreckung der Reihen 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d angeordnet.
Zusätzlich sind auch hier Führungsstifte 9 vorhanden, die bevorzugt quadratisch ausgebildet sind.
Die Kontaktelemente 4, hier die Messer der Messerleisten 1, es können aber auch Federn einer Federleiste sein, sind derart angeordnet, dass ihre gegenseitigen Abstände "Q" sowohl in den jeweiligen Reihen 5a, 5b, ... als auch zwischen den Reihen 5a, 5b, ... gleich groß gewählt sind. Damit ist ein quadratisches Diagonal-Maß der Kontaktelemente erreicht.
Jeweils zwei der Kontaktelemente 4 sind von einem im Wesentlichen U-förmig ausgebildeten Abschirmblech 3 umschrieben, dessen Schenkel 10, 10' senkrecht zur Längserstreckung der Reihen 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d ausgerichtet sind, wobei der Schenkel 10 länger als der Schenkel 10' ausgebildet ist. dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Abschirmbleche (3) im 45°-Winkel zur Längsstreckung der Messer- (1) und Federleisten angeordnet sind. - Steckverbindung mit Abschirmung nach Anspruch 2 oder 4,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Abschirmbleche (31) im wesentlichen U-förmig sind, insbesondere zwei erste Abschnitte (4') von Kontaktelementen (41) umgreifen. - Steckverbindung mit Abschirmung nach wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 2, 4 oder 6,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die dritten Abschnitte (4"') der Kontaktelemente (41), in Draufsicht zur Längserstreckung der Reihen (5a bis 5d und 5a' bis 5d') gesehen, versetzt zu den ersten Abschnitten (4') der Kontaktelemente (41) angeordnet sind. - Steckverbindung mit Abschirmung nach wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 2, 4, 6 oder 7,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zweiten Abschnitte (4") im wesentlichen senkrecht zur Längserstreckung der ersten und dritten Abschnitte (4' und 4"') verlaufen, insbesondere alle zweiten Abschnitte (4") eine Messerleiste (11) zueinander parallel sind. - Steckverbindung mit Abschirmung nach wenigstens einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Abschirmbleche (3; 31) im wesentlichen U-förmig sind. - Steckverbindung mit Abschirmung nach wenigstens einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Abschirmbleche (3; 31) den Boden (8) der Messer- (1; 11) oder der Federleiste durchgreifen. - Steckverbindung mit Abschirmung nach wenigstens einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass am Boden (8) der Messerleiste (1; 11) oder der Federleiste nach außen ragende Führungsstifte (9) vorgesehen sind.
