Abstract

The invention relates to a control system and method for a lighting device (1) adapted to be controlled by means of control signals in compliance with a high-speed transmission protocol. The system according to the invention comprises a central control unit (2) adapted to transmit control signals (s1) in compliance with said high speed transmission protocol, a plurality of peripheral control units (3) adapted to activate said lighting devices.
The invention is characterised in that said system comprises first means (4) adapted to convert said control signals (s1) transmitted by said central unit in one or more low-speed data flows (s2) and second means (5) adapted to transmit said low-speed data flow (s2) on at least one supply line (6) adapted to supply electrical power to said lighting devices.
